I just ordered one! Funny that you said it kinda looks like a little battle ship, because that's what I thought when settling on the color! I'm stoked and can't wait ' til it arrives! Appreciate the build and the video!
Congrats! I've had several kayaks and this one was the first that was designed to be rigged👍 Let me know if you need any suggestions and thanks for checking out my channel 👍
@@demolition_fishing Alright, I'm taking you up on the offer to ask you for any thoughts! Just got mine a couple weeks ago. I'm curious - I haven't really seen anyone put an anchor trolly on their 129s. Any idea why??
@@demolition_fishing I thought about that... But does spot-lock work when you got the wind to your back, and you're casting WITH the wind?? Would think spot-lock wouldn't work in a scenario like that, and that your kayak would just swing around?
Couple guys I know had SS127 and had some input on the design of the PWR and they were happy with the outcome. This is my first Bonafide but I'm seriously impressed.👍
Wow can't believe it has been 6 months already. When and if I ever kill my Hobie this will be my next (you helped me make that decision). Good stuff bruh and great review.
Man choosing a fishing kayak is hard. I dont think ill be disappointed no matter what i choose i just dont know what i want to do. I really really really like the pwr 129 for its customizability but getting a used titan 10.5 from 2023 or so is also an option....
You won't go wrong with an older (2022-23)Titan or Slayer max 10. If you go that route make sure it has the sling blade rudder that made a big difference to me. The Titan is a bit heavier than the Slayer Max but it's more stable. The slayer layout and rigging is nicer in my opinion. Keep me posted on what you get👍
You ever take water over the bow after moving the battery up front? And do you find 50 amps to be enough juice for that graph and livescope all day? Great update, thanks!
No the boat sits pretty much the same as when the battery was in the back. It's very balanced boat for sure. The TM and 50ah battery weigh in around 43lbs and the 100ah for the TM in the back and my tackle weigh about the same. I consider the black box and bridge and myself the center of the boat so no issues with it sitting nose heavy even when standing closer to the front. Also if you do take on waves the front hatch design is improved as they made the hatch rails taller so it stays dry even in the heaviest of waves. I can get two days of fishing on the 50ah using both scope and graph. Previous boats a 30ah would get me a day and a couple hours of the following morning. Thanks for checking it out👍
This boat seems to be more well suited to "catch and release" type fishing. not any really good places for a fish bag that don't interfere with bow-mount motors and other usable features on the front.
If I was going to use a bag for keeping them I would reconfigure the back and place the TM battery up front and use the entire rear area for a bag and small tackle storage. I've seen some other ideas on youtube for crappie fishing. 👍
Bigger is better in some aspects for sure. Not saying it's not worth the say $1000 over a PWR but add a TM, Battery and your in that Hobie PA14 range and still no pedals. The attraction of the PWR was the initial cost and the weight and efficiency in the water. Cool that they are offering so many options tho👍
I do have one question. Do you feel the captains bridge location moves your screen too far forward? Both for scoping and using different features with your electronics.
No it sits perfect for me still allowing full access to the dry pod and it's out of the way of brining in my net with a fish etc. I have to lean forward to make adjustments but other than that I'm happy with the positioning. 👍
@@demolition_fishing definitely me. I’m on a PDL now and worry, “what if I’m xx miles out on the Delta have motor issue?” Paddling and fishing doesn’t go together. I certainly want to do more fishing than kayaking 😂 (still on top of the list).
@@Rigs2Ridges For sure, Honestly I've never had a issue but when your able to stand, put the trolling motor on Nav mode and fish a bank in the current or hit spot lock on a windy point I completely😄 forget about pedals
I used 6 total 50ah connectors. 2 at the trolling motor end. 2 at the battery box end and 1 inside the box and 1 on the battery all using 6 gauge Marine tint cable. @@demolition_fishing so at the battery box you have one plug on the end of the cable that plugs into the box, one coming from the box to the fuse, then one from the fuse to the plug on the battery?
@@thomasallar169 Yeah one out of the back that plugs into the one coming out of the box that connected to the circuit breaker then that goes to the battery

Amazing setup. You've definitely thought it through and it shows. Can't wait to see it in person.
Thanks Mike, Going to try to make it for sure! Need to keep the streak alive😊
Sensible changes from your initial setup. Good to see you are still pleased with the 129.
Yeah tweaks here and there still a awesome boat. Thanks for checking it out.👍
Super clean looking kayak, always in awe of it when I see it in person. "When" i get my Xi3 I might need to have you help me install it 😁

Awesome video, I've been wanting to upgrade from my 127 into a pwr but I'm a little nervous to do so.

The base is a Malone Micro Sport and I had a friend build the top section and I added the rod tube and Malone box.

ciao grazie per il tuo video! nel vano ci sta una sonda GT51?
Hi there, It's mounted under the pod. It's the GT54 Transducer.
@@demolition_fishing Is there room for a gt51 that is bigger? Thank you
@@Matt__fishing_88 Should be plenty or room. I don't know the total length of the Gt51 but should be fine.

Just wonder why the 13 x 13 x 13 bllackpak is mounted with the opening towards you instead of away?
When I'm turning around in the seat it's easier for me to undo the latches. 👍
