  • While separation of powers provides the great institutional restraint on government, the Founders understood that the perpetuation of free government ultimately depends upon a virtuous people. Experience and history has proved that a people will either be virtuous and free or corrupt and ruled.
Discover the simple but profound truths of the Constitution in an entirely new way through Hillsdale College’s “Introduction to the Constitution.” Find yourself at the table with Dr. Larry Arnn, as he teaches his students the principles of liberty. Experience the lively discussions that take place as students explore the implications and beauty of our Constitution. And watching Antifa , REVCOM, ,etc. in the streets, and the Democrats and Socialists in the Halls of Congress we can see the results when you turn away from those truths.

Virtue, character, honor, and integrity. Absolutely essential for the continuation of a free people. Why does it seem that in so many areas of society those things no longer matter.

@Sparky Runner I was in 1st grade when the teacher announced that we would no longer be reciting "The Lord's Prayer" as part of our day because the "Supreme" Court had determined it was unconstitutional.
As a first grader I really didn't understand what that even meant. We were not a church going family., but I remember wondering that morning, "What could it hurt for children to say that prayer every morning?" Made no sense then, makes no sense now. But looking back across the years at the difference in society that the erosion of our faith and virtue at the hands of the courts and government have had I can see the consequences.

@@bobmassey7227 parents, and teachers used to instill these visions into the children. Now the academic system has lost these visions. Control the children and you will control the future.

How can we fix a country which has no Declaration of Independence, and a Constitution with 416 pages of pure nonsense? We have too many rights and no duties. I'm talking about Brazil, my country of birth, not hearth. I wish I could make a difference. Living in a country plagued with Socialism is really stressful. Thank you Dr. Larry Arnn for your time and dedication.

It's a slow process for people to come to love these ideas and then we have to learn to live them. Maybe work on ourselves first ?? But keep talking abt their value

If people are to be free, they're going to need to be moral and industrious. Liberty ultimately requires self-responsibility. If a free people can't govern their own lives, then they will need help from a higher authority, and cease being free in the process.

As a blessed Christian, I'm sad to see educators leave out of their history lessons what the forefathers acted and planned for Native Americans, Asians, Blacks, etc. That's fine, it's ultimately the responsibility of all nationalities to teach their own and the WORLD what actually transpired and not rely on educators as we had in the past. Peace and may the Lord be with you all...

A virtuous government-media is a natural outcome following the virtuous culture being its proper role. We the People. Government is a reflection of the chaos and dysfunction, or peace and efficiency of the culture controlling it.

A virtuous people actually go by the rule of law while non-virtuous people go by the rule of man. Virtuous people are becoming rarer as time moves on. The federal courts have been the most subject to corruption since special interests parties have the means to bring cases before the judges of their choice while the two party system undermines the separation of power.
