For those of you looking for the Location Cards, the new Kickstarter for Ninja Dice: Kage Masters will include both the original ones and a whole slew of new ones!

It looks like an interesting variation of dungeon roll. I'm not sure if it's different enough for me though.

Jose, there's two big differences: first, it's not multi-player solitaire for the most part. Most of the time people are engaged when it is isn't "their turn". And second, there isn't that "well I roll and do the one obvious thing" sort of gameplay. There is a puzzle aspect to Ninja Dice, especially in the later rounds.

Seems odd that the publisher didn't just include the location cards in the base game. I was not really interested after seeing the game boy geek's review but now I may have to check it out. :)

The locations add a LOT to the game, and if you feel like buying 2 sets of the base game, there's even a set of "team" locations that lets 2 teams play the game against each other. Kage Masters are also really fun. In general, major recommendation of this game, but get the expansions, they add enough to be worth it.

Thanks for the review! I was curious about this one and it looks like an decent filler game (when including the expansion), nothing special but something to play quick in between bigger titles.

      It's slightly special :)

@@RoccoPrivetera Are you, by any chance, financially invested in this game?

I think you need to read the rules again. I don't read anywhere in the core rules that you get a free round without threat dice except for one of the Location Cards. Also, where are you reading you get to choose what Location card you want? We read the rules as you randomly draw one of the appropriate round on your turn. I have the original kickstarter set, so perhaps the rules changed since then?

So... another example of an "expansion" that could have just as easerly been included in the original game. On that alone I'll give this game a pass.

William, originally there were issues with whether or not the Kickstarter would do well enough to include the added costs of the Locations - and honestly the Locations were invented *during* the Kickstarter in response to Backer suggestions. They were originally a stretch goal and as such in the first printing not included. And really, almost anyplace online you can get the game you can get the expansion for less than five bucks. Don't let that be the reason you give it a pass! Let it be a reason like you dislike the game. :)
