A challenger could hard carry on yuumi jungle and that wouldn't be a surprise.
If you play garen i found that the best core items for him are Trinity Force , Death's Dance and Youmus Ghost Blade.
They give you HP ,AD , sustain , mobility ,lethality and most important of all 40% CDR. Which means you can go to town on the enemies non stop.
Also if you go for damage max E not Q.
actually its not, you wanna build triforce bersekers phantom dancers for maximum dmg, after that it depends on the game
I used to ban Garen until last season. Then Rito released an unmatched broken brain damaged champion called Yuumi, so I've been banning that.
Luckily for me, I discovered the meat grinder with shotgun knees. Every time I see enemy Garen, I know it can't get easier xD

I dunno why people despise Garen so much. This video is about climbing and for that you need wins, not fun. Also playing Garen makes you understand fundamentals better, so "fun" champions contribute from it as well.
Because people want to have and in a server like NA (for fun server) people hate you for try harding.

Biggest lie every year: u can climb with every champ. It's actually just luck of matchmaking. U have a good tram or u have a bad team. Having every second game 2 iting lanes makes u climb back to bronze :D

Not gonna lie, AP Vi with Mobi boots is really good in the mid lane
Just in case someone wants to try it the build would be: Doran's Shield and potion first, then your first full item should be a Lich Bane (first item can be a Sheen so your enemy won't know you're building AP), then Mobi boots, Gun Blade, Nashor's Tooth, Void Staff, Death Cap or Zhonya's. Remember, you're really squishy with this build so you don't want to engage, you're basically an AP assassin. You can solo or even 1v2 or 1v3 depending on the situation but you don't wanna be the one engaging in teamfights, you wanna finish them. Your E send people directly to the hospital lol
Max E first, Q second R third and your W last.
In lane you'll want to poke with E first and finish them when they're about 50ish or less health (always engage with your passive up).
Bans: Akali and Zoe are probably the ones who will be more of a threat, I always ban Akali.
One you have one full item with 3 dots in your E, your wave clear is so fast that gives you plenty time to go roam.
A good roam engage combo would be: R + Auto + E + Auto + Q + Auto + E. If that's too complicated avoid the autos and go straight R + E + Q + E.

@@chickitabanana9957 dont compare garen to yuumi. Yuumi requires more braincell than a garen otp. The yuumis that afk in lane and sticks to adc are the people who are not trying at all to think. The true cancerous yuumis are the one that are super proactive in lane and teamfights. They always use W to proc the passive shield. In a teamfight they jump around to multiple allies to heal them and position their R for roots. If you compare that to the garen, he just flash Q R and ignite someone is dead. And then he spins like a beyblade shreds your tank.
Remember to spam ESC, tab, and F keys it’ll help you’re damage output, increase LP gain.

I miss when Garen didnt have the bullshit AS and crit on E. I honestly thought when they started it that it was a joke by riot and would remove it very fast like they did to Illaoi AP scalling. But they didnt and im super confused why????

If garen doesnt stomp lane he is useless. Also he cant TF later on because he will just get kited without a chance of reaching a killable champ. Hes just a good pick for some players because he isnt mechanically challenging and has a very strong and forgiving laning phase. Overall hes not really good.
There are some cases where you see him work in high elo to be fair, but your correct about him never working in competitive
Elijah P Yeah It works in high elo when you stomp lane. Otherwise you need a winning or atleast even team to be useful. Kinda what i said earlier. (Combos with yuumi or else might be an exception from this)

You guys are looking for a Yasuo hardcounter in mid? Pick nocturne and build bruiser. Works every time. Dashy boy has no chance and you can roam bot or top for free ganks and perma pressure the whole map at level 6
Works well too against champs like fizz, velkoz, xerath, diana, etc

Shen is also broken in some mid matchups for similar reasons. He totally dumpsters assassins because of passive shield & block. Essentially every assassin has some sort of reliance on aa's, and p + w guarantees winning trades. Taunt is an amazing setup for ganks, and you can itemize for waveclear to pressure and roam (or just go straight tank, standing between them and their wave while spamming mastery and laughing)
never use doran's shield, always go for 3 beads

Just tried this in bronze against a ziggs. Disgusting how well it works, even though enemy had a pretty fed urgot. Wtf is this champ, this is why i perma ban this.
Also garen W gives a free Conditioning effect as well once you fully stack it, so it technically gives 33 armor/MR by itself before accounting for base/bonus resistances and stacking conditioning with it.

the 1v5 int around the 7:55mark... yeah u lived long because they were lvl 11-13 and u were lvl16 with PD shield and the dead man's apart from the W stats. those levels count a lot

this may be a noob question but what can I do if a teamate refuses to play the role given to him? I get this a lot in my elo where they steal top role from me when they get either jungle or supp and I end up just playing a role that they got. It seems lately a lot of players are just ruining the game being extremely toxic by stealing other roles or trying to hostage your pick by banning your declared champ.

Quinn with glacial augment... my enemy garen doesnt farm more than 20 minions in first 10 minutes, waits me to back so he can farm😂😂 he even doesnt have time to farm much tho cz of my movement speed. You dont need to be a pro to counter him as quinn just harass for every minion he comes to cs and he won't do it again after 3 minions

I am a zed otp and ended a game super fed and sold my boots to get an extra damage item the enemy amumu that went full tank except from a liandrys did more damage than me, and this happens almost every game tanks deal more damage going full tank than damage champions going full damage, especially assassins since they do burst damage and adcs and mages can do damage more consistently but still get outdamaged but tanks. So this situation just proves the meaning of this video. Play juggenauts or tanks and enjoy free lp.
I really hate garen tbh. Those rare times that i play him, i feel absolutely terrible about abusing this shit... Hope he gets some sort of nerf
What about the runes and build?
Real anti-Garen picks aren't the infinite kite adc cz if you get to them it's over. The real Garen counter are the Hyper HP tanks, since they are impossible to one shot in one rotation and usually have a lot of cc to keep you down while teammates come help them, think of Maokai, Sion, Cho'gath. Also, Garen falls off late game since w it's capped and to that point half of the top laners alredy have either more damage (Jax, Fiora), or more HP (Cho'gath, Maokai). Still, it's pretty easy to win pre-minute 30

How do you actually win from this guy? He does the same damage as an adc but is tanky as fuck, also assassinates and has mobility, unless you have Ashe he's unkillable
@@officialshinky i mean in top, hes not that great, like Vayne, Quinn, Teemo Fiora, Darius, Renekton, Morde, sett, Shen etc all really good against him. but the people he counters feels like theres nothing u can do against him as he exerts little to no skill expression other than cleansing slows with his Q. as a Shen main hes one of the only people i build bruiser Shen into its so fun. also i couldnt tell u what counters him in mid i dont play that so id most likely be wrong with just guessing

Not even sure why they called him "Underrated". Running rampant the past 5 seasons are Garen and Darius. Balance team is trash, but by all means give Irelia 0.2% more attack speed.
Garen in low elo maybe maybe kind of "broken" becouse he have low skill floor and low skill seiling

How do high elo players counter garen ?
Kiting him
Better macro and game knowledge, and they actually respect Garen's flash Q/E/R combo. Garen thrives on enemies disrespecting him, but if your opponent doesn't disrespect you you will never be able to kill them as Garen.
Also, high elo players don't mindlessly play their ad bruisers 100% of the time like the Yasuo/Zed/Talon/Akali(she's AP but same playstyle)... and actually adapt to fit the team comp.
In short, Garen is so good in low elo because most midlaners will never switch from their mains who get hard-countered by Garen, and they will still try to play aggressively against you against all common sense, as well as not respect your engage range.
I'm a jungle main but I ban him every game anyway, a lot of people don't know how to deal with him in the toplane and we all know a fed Garen is gg

Its s10. Tank meta. Play tank top last hit bugs for 30 mins then literally delete anyone with one q because you have a bunch of armor and HP. Disgusting season.

Yeah I think I'd just take this against melee champs. Not a confident Garen player, I prefer playing normal mid lane picks like Annie, Veigar, and Ahri. All of those are my highest winrates and mains with Ahri hovering around 60%, Annie and Veigar over 75%

I literally qued up a normal game a few hours ago and i was annie vs. garen mid and that shit was disgusting in laning phase. Legit took 0 damage while clearing the wave and does half my HP

I am garen mid main, yasuo only good low lvls aagainst garen you can play morgana and easy win if you are not a noob, zed is weak at low lvls but if he rush lord dominik+letality items garen does not counter him
