If you live in the US, I have seen these yeast balls in many Asian market. I am amazed how you use only 2 tiny yeast balls and ferment your rice successfully. In the packet it says 12 yeast balls in the bag will ferment 1 kg of rice.
Yes I live in the US and I only use 2 tiny yeast for 600 to 650g black sweet rice sister. It’s too sweet for me. but if 12 tiny yeast for 1kg of rice I guess very very very sweet not good to eat.
It's good to know. I only follow the package instruction; it says those 12 pieces in the package for 1kg of sweet rice. Yes, it's very sweet. After 4 to 5 days, I move it to the fridge; it starts to taste better after several weeks. The last batch I made, it's been in the fridge for 2 months and it tastes so good. Next time, I'll follow your instruction. Thank you @@DaraKitchenkh
@@DaraKitchenkh I follow your recipe and take your advice fermenting 600 gm of black sweet rice with 2 tiny yeast balls. I started Sunday and today it's ready and very sweet. Mine doesn't have a lot of juice, but still tastes very sweet. I think maybe it's been cold too. Again, thank you. This save a lot of yeast balls.
Yummy!!!
