    Why does the external part of the mitochondria disappear when I move the solidify modifier above the boolean? Is there a way to fix this?

    • @CGFigures
      @CGFigures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Valentina, booleans can behave a bit weirdly sometimes. A few possible suggestions. 1) Try moving the cutter object just a little bit. Sometimes a tiny offset will make it work better, usually if you're cutting out something right in the middle you need to move it above or below the tiniest bit. 2) Try changing the boolean type from 'fast' to 'exact'. It's a bit slower to use exact but it does tend to be more precise. 3) Try adding some subdivision to your cutting object. The extra geometry can sometimes help. Hopefully one of those works for you.

    Hey, super cool tutorial and very helpful. I am having trouble with the "waterlike" textures of the mitochondrial shell and inside liquid when exporting as glTF file. Does anyone know how to do it?

    • @CGFigures
      @CGFigures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might be able to bake the texture in for the glTF export. It's been awhile since I've tried that but I remember glTF being troublesome with procedural textures. I think my video on exporting to powerpoint either covers it or points to better resources for it. Hope that helps.

    Hello. This is really informative but I'm not able to cut by bool tool. Can you help me out with it. Thank you in advance

    • @CGFigures
      @CGFigures  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This might be a version difference. I recommend trying to move the boolean cutting object around a little bit and also switching between "fast" and "exact" in the modifier settings

    Thanks for the tutorial. Any advice on exporting? I tried to export to various file types but none of them look great. FBX seems to be OK although it has added in some annoying light artifacts around the mitrochondria interior

    • @CGFigures
      @CGFigures  ปีที่แล้ว

      What are you hoping to export for? I usually render in Blender or if I am exporting it's as an stl for 3D printing. gltf2 is what I have gone with in the past when I'm exporting the whole 3D model. You do often have to bake in textures though for it to look half decent

    • @nathanconlon738
      @nathanconlon738 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CGFigures hoping to export to gltf2. i managed to perform a bake operation but it always seems to map terribly

    • @CGFigures
      @CGFigures  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nathanconlon738 I believe I cover some of my process for exporting to gltf2 in the video I have on working with powerpoint. It's not something I do very often though so I'm definitely not an authority on baking textures.
