    Your wife's curry was particularly impressive because she used a mix of individual spices rather relying on the curry roux cubes or a pre-made powder--her repertoire seems very broad, too! I do the cooking and dishes at our house and my wife does most of the rest of the housework, and I can tell you, it is sometimes stressful to come up with a good variety of meals that are balanced, interesting, and tasty. Thanks for sharing these insights, Barrett, and please convey our appreciation to your wife for sharing her cooking with us!

    How do people have the time to cook one dish let alone multiple dishes for dinner. Your wife is a godsend. Also coming from multiple cultures means you guys get to enjoy more recipes and food. うらやましいっすね!

    I used to cook for 4 very large brothers and it was a chore. Now I only cook for my husband and I love cooking. Everything your wife cooked looked appetizing. I think I want to make the kalua pork and lomi salmon for my husband. Thank you for sharing.

    Ayaka's cooking looks amazing! The little gratins were especially impressive. They looked like a dish served in a hip restaurant! Also loved the kalua pig on the wonton chips. I think it was my uncle who I first saw do that and can also say it is super ono!

    What brand did you use for the rice paper wraps? Great video and a talented cook. Thanks.

    • @barrettish

      It’s a DeLonghi toaster oven. We also use the microwave which doubles as an oven, that one’s Panasonic.

    What's that plastic looking thing you made with the shrimp wrap? Is it edible?

    • @barrettish
      @barrettish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s just a rice paper wrap. It’s pretty common in places like Vietnam for summer rolls and what not.

    What is that semi-transparent thing at 4:45? At first I thought that it is some plastic wrap, but you dip it in sauce...

    • @Mwoods2272
      @Mwoods2272 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a wrap made from RICE used in a lot of Southeast Asian foods.

    • @barrettish
      @barrettish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, what Maurice said. It’s sold dry so it really is like a plastic sheet. Once you wet it, it becomes more translucent and a little stretchy. There’s no flavor really, but they’re good for making wraps like the ones in the video.
