That blue is gorgeous....I saw some mw65 that were also gorgeous. I believe these though to be superior as I continue hunting my second pair ever...I think I've found them in these.... we'll see...
I'm very happy about the redesign. When it was released, I went out and immediately bought the blue PX after seeing the gorgeous design with its gold accents as a replacement for the Bowers P7 I owned (lovely headphones, just too small for me). I adored the way they looked, although they were a bit uncomfortable due to the design of the top band. I received many compliments on the way they looked, they had very decent battery life, and they sounded great for non-wired headphones. Then came the PX7 and it just looked, to put it bluntly, cheap in comparison to the PX. As such, I've held off from buying them and I'm glad I waited. I will have to test out the comfort of these, as well as the PX8 when it's released, but I hope these can finally be my upgrade from the PX. I will definitely be buying the blue model, although I will most like buy a set of black earpads to add a bit of contrast.
I have the B&W PX as well, love them (for short listening sessions). Sound is great, look amazing, but the comfort is a big let down. I skipped the PX7 too, just didn't match the premium look of PX. Now the PX7 S2 got my attention.
I'm interested in that as well. I like my PX7 but my one complaint is that for the sort of music that I listen to (rock, indie, blues mostly) I find the bass on the PX7 to be a bit loose and flabby which gives a slight muddiness to the overall sound at least to my ears. I like bass so I like the fact that the PX7 has quite a lot of it but I wish it was more articulate and better controlled. That is the one area that I hope the s2 might have improved on.
The Px7 S2 sound profile is even more natural. Some have reported the previous Px7 as having a bit more of a "darker," "warm" sound signature. We would say the previous Px7 has a very natural soundstage, but compared to the Px7, the new S2 is even more natural sounding and slightly more resolute to our ears. B&W did not provide a frequency response-however, the Px7 S2 has a pretty neutral profile that sounded very natural across a wide range of frequencies. We hope this helps and thanks for watching.
You might appreciate the Px7 S2 a lot if this is the type of music you listen to. Bass is slightly tighter and resolute on the new S2 compared to the previous model. We hope that helps and thanks for watching.
I've been a bowers & wilkins fan. In headphones since the beginning but the px7s (vision 1) sounded diamentional, detailed but them it got lost with a loose wooly bass, the opposite of bright sound which give me a less convincing experience everytime I wore them, I've now moved on to dali and loving a detailed uncolored and tightened bass, but the look isn't as nice as the bowers, if the px7 s2s are an improvement I might be tempted
I have the px7 now and love them. These new ones look amazing, and I love that blue. How's the wired playback? Kinda disappointed they removed the regular aux cause now I'll need an adapter in order to use my audio quest auxiliary cable.
@@MrBJony not exactly. I feel their volume is pretty adequate without producing distortion or muddy bass. Can't really compare to eat buds cause they are direct inside your ear. But i think they have good volume. Could be a little louder sure but not bad. The noise canceling needs to be better that will help with volume
I have the P7 wireless and love them. I would like to pickup a newer set with advanced features, but I won’t upgrade until wireless lossless audio is figured out.
Thanks for commenting, Michael. The P7 is great! The Px7 S2 does wireless AptX Adaptive over Bluetooth quite well. The performance was very stable especially when switching between our computer and smartphone. We hope that helps and thanks for watching.
@@skitbraviking That would be on Apple's shoulders, not B&W. They only offer AAC, and the proprietary new ALAC on their devices. B&W would probably have to get into a pricey collaboration with Apple in order to get into their ecosystem. As far as Android, the highest standards today for most devices are aptX Adaptive with Snapdragon Sound and LDAC, but soon there will be aptX Lossless, which no device is providing so far, and there are only a couple of headphones implementing it, such as the NuraTrue Pro. Yes, hopefully the Px8s will have that technology!
Are these capable of momentum 3 levels of bass once you tweak the EQ? I love the default sound of the momentum 3 but the headband is uncomfortable and they are too heavy.
We will have to test the momentum 3 further, but a close look at the specs shows the Momentum 3 Over-Ear Noise Canceling Headphones have a frequency response of 6 Hz to 22,000 Hz, which is pretty good bass. B&W did not provide a frequency response, so we are not sure how low the new Px7 S2 really goes, but the bass is tight, resolute, and very natural sounding to our ears. The Momentum's driver is 4.2mm compared to the 40mm drivers in the Px7 S2. Having said that, they weigh about the same, but the Px7 S2's newly designed headband is extremely comfortable, and the clamping force is amazing on the new Px7 S2. Thank you for this review! I'm considering picking these up, price point seems good for me, and I've been searching for headphones with good audio and noise cancelling. Really glad to see these come with the option of being wired despite being wireless headphones. I watch videos and play games a lot so latency has been an issue for me with wireless headphones in the past. I've been repurchasing the same couple cheap Sony headphones for years and years each time one starts having issues, but with how much I listen to music, I really feel like I shouldn't be cheapening out with my headphones any more. That blue color is gorgeous. Definitely picking that color if I go with these.

@@AudioAdvice thanks Would you say that the S2 are closer to B&O H95 in sound? When i compared the PX7 with H95 i found the PX7 had more base but the sound was "muffed". The H95 had less base but clearer and lighter in sound if it make sense
Yes, Michael. First time channel viewer - that was a great review of these headphones, nice work. I only came to hear of them after seeing an ad for them on Pinterest, I haven’t looked into new headphones for a while having bought a pair of P7s years ago. Question: what model are the white speakers in the background? (I realise this is a noob question but I’m a long time out of the audiophile loop) Keep up the great work!
I bought the Mark Levinson 5099 for traveling which is a superior headset. However, I'm I can not use it to go to the gym. Would you recommend this BWs for the gym or not?

Thanks for the question. Yes! And It’s important to note, Bowers & Wilkins is one of the few who make the USB-C port capable of both charging the unit and passing hi-res audio through the wired connection. Since many people will be using these to work from home with a laptop that no longer includes a 3.5mm jack, we see the USB-C audio cable as an added convenience for those wanting the best audio quality from their laptops. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
Great detailed video. So I bought some Bose Q45s and although they sound great, they aren't very loud. How would these compare to the Bose as far as loudness, I don't really care much for the ANC, I just want some good sounding clear music! Thanks in advance
The Px7 S2 includes a very long 4-foot USB-C to 3.5mm analog headphone cable which allows you connect them to an audio source with an analog input. We hope that helps and thanks for watching.
By “better clamping force” than the PX7, do you mean “less” clamping force? My primary complaint about the original PX7 is that due to the angle of the headband’s arc it’s a bit too tight for long-lasting comfort, as it squeezes at the base of my ears and upper end of my jaw. Otherwise it’s an amazing set of headphones. Reducing that clamping force and/or widening the arc of the headband could make the S2s perfect.

@@AudioAdvice yup that helps a lot =) I always thought the PX7 was exaggerated more but I actually like that. This confirms my suspicions. I never did like the Sony MX4 because it sounded too...not emphasized if that makes any sense. Thanks for your advise!
Hey I wanted your opinion. I currently have Bose jewel cube speakers installed in 2012 (6 jewel cube with a centre bowers and Wilkins htm6 s2). I’m planning to switch to bowers and Wilkins M1 satellite speakers. Would you reccomend it ? Are they better than the Bose jewel cube? The M1 are quite old right? Are they still the worth it?
The M1 is still a great sounding speaker and would match up better. If you watch movies and shows with a lot of surround content, you should definitely benefit. Thanks for watching

Very interesting and a good review. A solid headphone at this price point. I have the Technics A800's which I think are fantastic but these do seem very convincing as an alternative.
Great review.I am facing the choice of Bowers & Wilkins PX7 s2 or Sony WH-1000XM5. I listen to electronic music (trance, club). Which headphones to choose? NC doesn't matter to me.
for everybody who is watching this video, this is not a review. Seriously all i hear is praise and positive language. There is no mention of anything negative. this just looks like a promo video for the brand
@@falcodarkzz I've never tried a B&W product. I've had M&D headphones and earbuds and the sound is clean and natural. Is B&W that much better? 🤔 I'm thinking about trying
@@PalmTree26 Yes, it's a huge difference. I've owned the MH40, MW65 & MW07 plus. The Master & Dynamic over ear headphones are not competitive, sadly, as they look great.
I'm new to the headphone multiverse, I purchased my very first pair last year, a pair of e7 pros by cowin. For a first pair they have been good to me, made me a cowin fan, but I'm positive they don't compare to these in my pursuit of a second pair. I'm at a crossroads between the cleer alpha the bowers Wilkins px7 s2 and phiaton 900 legacy. I'm a soundstage type of guy I've learned that loves clarity and immersion in music if that helps, I just know in bout to shell out at least $400 so I wanna be sound I'm my decision, I'm also considering some mw75, sigh......just help....
Sorry, we are not familiar with most of those. Our advice is to purchase from a dealer who will let you return them if you are not happy. Thanks for watching
While we love the XM5, We agree. The Px series has always been about great sound and style. For people in the know, it's a cool thing to have, letting people know how serious you are about sound. Thanks for watching.
In the last few days I focused on my choice: Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2-Blue. The sound quality is overwhelming, whatever the origin. These headphones just play brilliantly. And they play with full sound, detail, and the range (low, medium, high) are fully audible and do not prefer any of them. The appearance, although it is a very subjective opinion, is ... gorgeous, even fantastic. Delightful with modernity. Even prestigious. You can see immediately that these headphones - Bowers And Wilkins PX7 S2 - are not often found on the streets. Hovewer there is one question that I have not found an answer to anywhere, including the official website Bowers And Wilkins PX7 S2 and no response from the support department Bowers And Wilkins ! Unbelievable. What is the simplest question ever ? What voice assistants support these headphones ? And are these headphones suport Google assistants ? That's really strange that B&W can't decide itselves ( on their web sites ) what version of BT these cans have !!! And worse still is that B&W Support HAVE NOT answered for this (my ) question ( sic!). Maybe they don't know themselves By the way.. do you know what voice assistants support these headphones ? More over I still do not know if these headphones can support Google Assistant and does the voice assitant depend on the brand of phone connected to it? I have a Samsung Galaxy and Bixbi reports to me by default. The Assistent depends on which one your phone has one e.g Iphone has Siri ). I turned off Bixbi and now I use Google Assistant ;-))) BTW: However, these headphones have one drawback. The proximity sensor installed in them sometimes works poorly, i.e. despite the headphones are on the head , it stops the music. Three possible settings do not change anything. I hope B&W knows about it and will fix it in the nearest firmware. Some users noticed this issue too..
There is no built-in voice assistant in the PX7. It does totally depend on the voice assistant built into your phone as you mentioned. On the left ear cup, there is a multifunction button that has a few different settings you can customize. You can customize it to activate the Active Noise Canceling and Ambient Aware transparency modes - or you can set it to automatically activate your phone's built-in voice assistant. The Px7 S2s. are B&W's newest headphone model and they are crafted with very durable materials. The case did a good job protecting them as well. The nice thing about that is you don't have to worry about these getting damaged as much, which is especially helpful for travel. Other than this new model, there isn't anything new to report, but stay tuned and make sure you are subscribed so you will know if B&W comes out with anything new in the future. Thanks for watching!
Hi , it would be very helpful if you could do a video with audio quality comparison (when wired) among these top ANC headsets. B&W, Sony, momentum 4, etc. I guess there a lot of us who work in not noisy places and want these headsets wired and with good audio quality. Not all of us wanna get to the price territory of audiophile closed backs for this purpose. Cheers
@@AudioAdvice You can give your judgment from what you hear. Of course we don’t have to listen in TH-cam and decide for quality. Of course it’s not scientific to judge from TH-cam audio.
There is indeed a 2-band EQ that lets you control treble and bass, so you can tailor the sound to taste. Perhaps there will be a software update that opens up more control in the future, but B&W has not confirmed this. Having said that, it's pretty cool to see an EQ in the Bowers & Wilkins Music app now.

@@AudioAdvice I'm not a BMW fan :) A question: how does the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 compare to the Technics EAH-A800E on sound quality, on the perceived quality in calls on a windows laptop, and on ANC? What about the comfort for the ears/head based on the use of materials and the possible longevity? What about comparing the PX7 S2 with the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal PC/PS? I know they seem an odd comparison if yo read the marketing stuff of both headphones, but in the end they are not that different. They can be both used USB-C wired and have the buit-in DSP to connect to PC. The PX7 S2 have the case extra and the Beoplay Portal PC has the 2.5 GHz dongle for improved connection to PC, that surpasses the best Bluetooth codecs, or at least the APTx the B&W have. Thanks!
@@Daniel-Condurachi Hi Daniel. Regarding comparisons with the Technics EAH-A800E or Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal PC/PS, we have not had a chance to directly compare those against the Px7 S2. We have only directly compared them to the previous Px7 model and Carbon Edition. With that said, we agree the models you mentioned would be good comparisons! The Px7 S2 sound profile is very natural. Some have reported the previous Px7 as having a bit more of a "darker" or "warmer" sound signature. I saw on another review of the next step up from the PX7 S2’s , the PX8’s that said once the internal battery dies ,after about 3 years, there’s no option to get a replacement fitted and they become a pretty ornament. I’m not sure about the S2’s yet but it’s a deal breaker for me if these suffer the same issue. I’m on disability benefits and £329 for headphones that will only last 3 years tops just isn’t feasible. Imagine with the PX8’s that cost around £699 and die at a similar age? Craziness.
@@AudioAdvice oh that’s good. God knows why the person wrote that about the PX8’s? I presume if the battery on the S2’s can be serviced/replaced then the same will hold true for the PX8’s? I very nearly didn’t buy the S2’s because of the other commenter’s erroneous info. Wish people wouldn’t speak if they’re not accurate in what they’re saying (polite way of telling them to STF UP). Thanks again for your reply.
If the S2s use a Lithium Ion battery they should be good for at least 500 x 0%-100% charges or 1000 x 50%-100% charges so you see how it works. A dead battery after 3 years would only happen if it was receiving at least 3 full charges a week which means over 100hrs of use a week, that's circa 15hrs a day. Anybody using their S2s this much will have a bigger issue than battery life it's called tinnitus....
@@rickz7461 I do use headphones for longer than that some days. Unfortunately where i live is very noisy (hence wanting very good ANC). I often even use them for sleeping. weirdly playing my own noise is far less disturbing than hearing other people's. I already have the dreaded tinnitus though not from hearing damage. From taking benzodiazepine medication ;( BTW the headphones have gone back up to £379 from £329. Looks like B&W dont want me to buy them lol
In terms of sound quality, they are fantastic if you prefer listening to music with a lot of natural instruments, such as Jazz, Classical, Rock, Bluegrass, etc. Sony XM5 has been more refined this iteration with less emphasis on the bass compared to XM4. In terms of sound quality, both are close to being on the same level. If noise-canceling is very important to you, then the XM5 will provide the best noise-canceling with really good sound quality too. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
How is the service and out of warranty repairs on this product? Because I returned already two PX’s and two days ago they ask me to pay for the new one while today they released this PX7-S2. Quite unfair right? I suggest to those who are prepared to spend days of contacting their service hotline, email, buy B&W’s.

Got these headphones and they are amazing! Wondering if I should return and wait for the px8 though. Really weird strategy by b&w to release these and turn around and say, "we are releasing our flagship later this year"
Hi Shaun! We are so glad you are enjoying them. The Px7 S2 is fantastic for the money. While we can't say for sure what B&W will release next, prices will likely continue to rise. We hope that helps, and thanks for watching.
I have both. I have the S2, I got my GF the PX8. The PX8 is definitely an upgrade. But, what I'll say is it's a diminishing value proposition. They're better. The sound quality is better imo. The materials are much nicer. But the S2s are already stellar. And unless you just have money to burn, or simply want the greatest, the better that you get, is in the fine details that people who don't listen to a ton, wouldn't notice. If you're an audiophile, you will notice.
@@NN-df7hl obviously the better the audio format the better these sound. However. I listen mostly with TH-cam music and Spotify. Comparing some tracks from there over to Qobuz, I don't think you NEED to only listen high res. But if you have a particular song.younreslly just want to hear everything, stream through Qobuz. As far as ANC, it's the exact same system as the S2. Which is to say it's good. It's plenty good for most people but if you're looking specifically for anc, the Sony XM5 and Bose QC45 are better options specifically for anc. But I'll accept slightly reduced and performance for the much better sound and build you get with these. I also use Bose QCII earbuds when I want simply ANC benefits.
Dear Sir..if you be so kind pls let me review these headphones here by myself enjoy your kindness First of all: Whatever the sound quality you hear, I do not recommend BOWERS & WILKINS Px7 S2. I have been using BOWERS & WILKINS Px7 S2 intensively for about a week. The sound of music is fantastic BUT. There is always “but”, isn’t it ? There are at least three reasons made me give them up and why I returned them twice ( the first time they had to be reset twice to turn them on) to the store. Firstly : the operation of WEAR SENSOR is absolutely unacceptable. Whatever you set it up (low-normal-high) causes that even the slightest movement of the head (up-down-left-right) turns the music off immediately !!! This also, all walks (not to mention running) these headphones with wear sensor feature turned on become useless. Even sitting comfortably in the armchair turning your head in any direction turns off the music, which makes these headphones useless. Yes, of course, this system can be completely disabled but for what it’s there for ! Secondly: Noise Canceling is also a very weak compared to other headphones at this price. For example NC in Technics EAH-A800E ,at half the price works much, much better ! Thirdly: the B&W Music application is very modest but it is ok. Unfortunately, its launch is very slow which can also be annoying. Moving on to conclusions. Perhaps B&W will be able to correct this annoying drawbacks that prevents the normal use of these headphones in a new, future software update . However, without this certainty, I will probably opted for much cheaper and certainly without these errors: The latest Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless, SONY WH-1000XM5B ANC (already tested in "battle") or even B&O ANC Beoplay H95. And no, I'm not going to buy anything from Bowers & Wilkins in the future… But if these bugs do not bother you, and your priority is the quality and tone of the sound, these headphones can be a great choice. I do appreciate all the comments of the viewers of your review, and especially your opinion on my review.
these seem like nice headphones but you're just not critical at all. this seems like a biased or even paid for video... the mic is just not good in loud environments for example
Thanks for watching our video. We appreciate your point that this was a super positive review. A few points we should have made. First, the Px7 S2 is a best-in-class ANC wireless headphone and one that really stands out. The second point is that for every review we do, there are dozens of products we don't put out videos on. In other words, we simply don't waste people's time with reviews and comparisons on products that we don't believe in. The third point is with this being a new product at the time we released the video, we focused on giving people the news they are looking for about it. Our individual reviews are where we dive deeper into any of the negatives if there are any to call out, and we mentioned the ones that stood out.
@@AudioAdvice thanks for the reply. I am fairly certain that AptX doesn’t work with the iPhone though.
@@michaelwright9101 This is my concern. I wonder if the Px8s will remedy this? 🤞
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
Any idea if the px7 s2, sony 1000xm5, or shure aonic 50 offer a true passive wired mode where they don't need power to use them?
How is the sound quality of the Px7 s2e on the iPhone?

Yes they are! Thanks for watching
Great review.
Can you do a compare PX 7 vs PX 7 S2?
Thanks
The Px7 S2 sound profile is even more natural. Some have reported the previous Px7 as having a bit more of a "darker," "warmer" sound signature. We would say the previous Px7 has a very natural soundstage, but compared to the Px7, the new S2 is even more natural sounding and slightly more resolute to our ears - especially when it comes to bass. B&W did not provide a frequency response-however, the Px7 S2 has a pretty neutral profile that sounded very natural across a wide range of frequencies. We hope this helps and thanks for watching.
@@AudioAdvice thanks
Would you say that the S2 are closer to B&O H95 in sound?
When i compared the PX7 with H95 i found the PX7 had more base but the sound was "muffed".
The H95 had less base but clearer and lighter in sound if it make sense
It would be easier and faster by going to a shop and test for yourself.
Do they have multipoint and what is the price
Yes, Michael. The new S2 features wireless multipoint bluetooth connectivity which allows you conveniently switch between streaming near CD-quality aptX audio from two audio sources (laptop or smartphone). Got these, try listening through usb-c to usb-c thunderbolt, noticeably better quality and a LOT louder

First time channel viewer - that was a great review of these headphones, nice work.
I only came to hear of them after seeing an ad for them on Pinterest, I haven’t looked into new headphones for a while having bought a pair of P7s years ago.
Question: what model are the white speakers in the background? (I realise this is a noob question but I’m a long time out of the audiophile loop)

Thanks for the recommendation. We will look into it.
Hello. Thank you for the great review! Does the USB C pass through audio work with Android phones with USB C port?
It should, it does with the original px7's.
Does it work with the IPhone, like USB C to lightning ?
Great detailed video. So I bought some Bose Q45s and although they sound great, they aren't very loud. How would these compare to the Bose as far as loudness, I don't really care much for the ANC, I just want some good sounding clear music! Thanks in advance
Thank you. We are not very familiar with the Bose, sorry
Two cables included and you still gotta run these cans on battery power seems like a bummer to me. Hopefully they add an analog input on the PX8s
They look very comfortable and well made.
They sure are! Thanks for watching

Hey I wanted your opinion. I currently have Bose jewel cube speakers installed in 2012 (6 jewel cube with a centre bowers and Wilkins htm6 s2). You got it!
There is indeed a 2-band EQ that lets you control treble and bass, so you can tailor the sound to taste. Perhaps there will be a software update that opens up more control in the future, but B&W has not confirmed this. Craziness.
Does anyone know if the S2’s have same problem? Do the Sony XM5’s?
That is not true. We contacted B&W and they can service the battery.
Would you say these are a big step-up from the Sony WH-1000XM5?
In terms of sound quality, they are fantastic if you prefer listening to music with a lot of natural instruments, such as Jazz, Classical, Rock, Bluegrass, etc. Sony XM5 has been more refined this iteration with less emphasis on the bass compared to XM4. In terms of sound quality, both are close to being on the same level. If noise-canceling is very important to you, then the XM5 will provide the best noise-canceling with really good sound quality too. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Dear Sir..if you be so kind pls let me review these headphones here by myself enjoy your kindness
First of all:
Whatever the sound quality you hear, I do not recommend BOWERS & WILKINS Px7 S2.
Unfortunately, its launch is very slow which can also be
annoying.
And no, I'm not going to buy anything from Bowers & Wilkins in the future…
But if these bugs do not bother you, and your priority is the quality and tone of the sound, these headphones can be a great choice.
I do appreciate all the comments of the viewers of your review, and especially your opinion on my review.
Thanks for sharing.
