  • Some great historical cars at this years Masters Historic test day making the noise that Motorsport used to make. Seeing both the Graham Hill Lola T371/Hill GH1 and David Purley LEC CRP1 in person was nice along with Jo Gartner's F2 March 782, returning ex DAMS Lola B98/10 and HPD ARX-04b Le Mans and IMSA cars, a very rare Lancia LC2 that sadly didn't do a lot of track time (probably for the best considering the cars reliability history) another rare car in the form of the Lola B11/83, one of two ever made with an enclosed cockpit, two unsilenced Ferrari 458 Italia GT3's, the hillclimb and Targa Florio spec Ferrari 246SP, and several Porsche race cars in the form of the 997 GT3 RSR, 996 GT3 RS and 911 GT2R's. A good mix of great cars, and very loud, so you have been warned!

Thanks for bringing us this incredible footage, from your handy pit access to some great track angles. Can't think of someone having a more memorable day. Good for you for containing yourself. Had it been me I'd be arrested and put in jail for hugging and leaking each of those classic F1 cars. No, not some sick fetish thing, just an incredible love for that amazing machinery and a huge desire to see these and hear them in person. Congrats.

Very good job capturing speed . I love the old F1 cars the most !

Great noise, almost wish there was a bit more variety in engine though. But many would argue that the universally used DFV was the reason the 70s was such a popular time for F1!

It's nuts that the Ferrari 458 is now part of the Masters, feels like that car only came out last week.

Same with the lambo trofeo and porsche cup cars!

That's because it did come out last week! It was 458 now it's 488 mixed with the new, underpowered Dino hommage 296 if i wrote/remember correctly. 458 really is a great Ferrari but it will be a classic in 25,30 years, not now. But as you can see, people are already puting it side by side with Porsche 956 and F1 cars of the 80's. I think it's too early. Maybe they're gonna start making fresh new "classics". I mean, come on,and....like,where is this world going. EVERYTHING is of worse and worse quality. It makes me uneasy when i think of it.

I know I saw it at Le Mans in 2011 and seems like yesterday too.

No half electric car will be a classic in my eyes.

@@davidbarnes6410 Can we stop mindlessly hating on anything with electrical power?
Engines are all started with a spark at the end of the day.

As a Pro photographer - I often see YT videos asking 'who can afford this expensive gear?" and it's people like me - but when I see racing like this I ask the same question! Awesome stuff - thanks for posting

Great job on the video, thank you for sharing! Keep up the good work. Love the vintage racers! Does anyone know what the triangular blue sticker with the red lightning bolt in the middle designates? A ground point maybe? Thanks in advance.

Thank you! Kill switch for the electrics, needs to be pulled whenever you're turning the car off

Only used when there is an incident and marshalls need to switch off the engine. It's a kill switch

Wonder what the quickest was. I’m gonna guess the old school lmp2’s. Wow forgot how good they were compared to now. Preferred it as a mixed series.

An LMP3 apparently and it was on or over the lap record. I didn't even notice!
