@@Jr-gf3br from what I’ve learnt by following forums and comments I’ve read online, the Pipercross filter tears and splits over time whereas the K&N can take some real fist with just an annual clean being required.
I’m looking for someone who knows how to tune these 435D properly and give me the best results yet the safest, glad to know your located in Oldbury which is down the road from where I live!
Nice video! I have a 19 plate gonna get stage 1. what's the difference in fuel economy after its been done please? town driving, motorway and then giving it a good bit wellie!🥳🚗
The increase in hp and tq on stock tune with the 2 mods added, which of these mods did most to the power increase do you believe, is the panel filter upgrade a must have or just added so no need to keep changing air filter in the future
Correct me if I’m wrong but without it being on a 4 wheel dyno, and the correct one to suit an xdrive system that power figure will be inaccurate as you’d be losing some through the 4 wheel drive system no?
How come front wheel drive is disabled??? There are power losses not taken into account from the front axle therefore your dyno results are quite misleading. Also with 2.2 bar boost pressure it would be interesting to see after how many months driving hard will that engine blow
The stock turbos can handle 2.5bar Front is disengaged as the xdrive system is not permanent 4wd and doing repeated 4wd dyno pulls is like spinning on snow for an hour. Not healthy for vtg. Our dyno measures parasitic loss not estimate. So it coasts down in neutral to measure a driven geared pull vs no gear.
Both an m4 and a m140i will catch a 335d xdrive and then start gapping it by by 3/4 car lengths but you need a remap and intercooler to stay up their arses 😆 but when you remap a m140i and m4 then you will see a big difference but put it this way 400bhp golf r will struggle with the 335d xdrive that's the mk7 but dont know about the new golf r as its a beast and come along way also. The 335d xdrive with a remap is a serious quick car, easy 170+mph top end no problem
I thought these were 313 Bhp standard I’ve just got my 335d msport and I really want to be hitting 400bhp stage 2 but how can they be less than what they state they are from factory It’s a bit 💩
Great video . Is there a way to tune the older 535d 2006 without dpf and get minimum smoke ? Or am I just dreaming ? As my 535d is fully deleted and Wagner intecooler and kn cone filter and stage 1 and it smokes like a savage it's actually embarrassing I'm used to petrol and I want it to be cleaner I seen videos of loads that hardly produce smoke with deletes done .
Dyno mode. Decoupling of front diff as they overheat and fail on repeated tests. These Xdrives were not made to run consistent 4wd.. only briefly during slip.
Also pipercross dont even make a filter to fit a 435d it wont seal correct...i spoke to them as the one fitted to my 435d was loose they said we dont make them to fit that... apparently they thought it did but after they further investigated they realised that it was the wrong size filter and said they wouldn't be making one to fit them in the near future
It’s absolutely fine it’s when you start to get to state 2 and beyond is when you start to stress the engine out so stage one is a safe way to go for sure but unless your going to track your car you don’t need to go to stage 2 and beyond stage one is more than enough fir the streets 👍🏽
whats the rough price for the intercooler and stage 1? got a 435d supposedly running 408 hp from a stage one and a k&n from Durham remaps 🤣🤣 I call bullshit
Love your stuff, follow you on insta too nice to see these videos, just a quick question as a vehicle tech who wants to go into the mapping game (and do it properly like yourself) what would you reccomend where to start? An insight into the importance of dyno tuning!
Piper cross or k&n filter? Your advice?

Excellent work on the tune. You guys always do it right. Wish I had a shop in my area that I trusted to tune my 535!

Ahh this is making me really wanna go for the CSF, that torque.. this must be an absolute monster especially with xDrive traction
CSF rocks!!
My friend got a pipercross a Wagner ic,downpipes and a 440i exhaust...could he easily change to a CSF ?

No as we we measure the parasitic loss on coast down and not just make up a percentage like lost
@@NVMotorsportUK got ya 👍🏻
Is that not an xdrive car? Should you not put it on awd dyno? Thanks
Was thinking exact same thing...
@@HiddenTide nope, these have a Dyno setting and the Dyno takes into account the losses.
More of this!
what about gearbox tune as well thats what i did on mine with the stage one 398 bhp 780nm tourque
Ofcourse

How is it running just the rear wheels on rollers with x drive? Or has 4wd been disabled….

Purely depends on DPF ash content and intake temps
You could do a regen before taking it down for the remap and also take it down in the winter months for better numbers and better cooling 😎
Was that whp? I’ve got the same mods and dyno tune 407hp at the crank.
Crank with measured parasitic loss. Feel free to pop down to comoare yours on the same dyno

how come you are just using 2 wheel dyno when this is an xdrive. did you disengage the front drive shafts?
Yes we use RWD dyno mode to save the transfer case from unnecessary stress
@@NVMotorsportUK but you get false readings
@@cal79 not when you use a dyno that measures parasitic loss
@Rob Amner no. The vtg is connected to rear all time and activates a clutch for front drive. Hence less stress

I think a Vlog covering the life of an engine software calibrator is necessary. 👍
@@NVMotorsportUK that would be a very useful resource for potentially people looking into it
Running an XDrive on rear wheels only is a reg flag, not representative of real world results
It is if the dyno can measure trans loss based on only two wheels spinning rather than a argos calculator
