Excellents chanteurs, une mise en scène simple belle efficace, surtout une direction orchestrale fine intelligente mettant en valeur le chœur et la voix des chanteurs. Un moment de grand bonheur. Bravo 👏👏👏🎈🎊🎉 ❤️❤️

A good performance with a young Dutchman for once. His ghostly ship and crew are done with back projections and lighting. French subtitles so English speakers will have to mentally translate from French to German. Well worth watching.

Anja Kampe reminds me a lot of Marianne Schech (a singer I like, but that a lot of people don't).

Anja Kampe was already here a miscast in too heavy roles.
Sieglinde is ok for her since her top is rough, strident and forced. But she can act the role with warmth.
Her Brünnhilde and Isolde are way above her capacity.
Her Minnie was a nightmare…

I agree she was miscast but it has nothing to do with the role being to 'heavy'.The tessitura of role is too high for Kempe. Singers like Lisbeth Balslev were ideal Sentas even though her voice was more lyric than Kempe's - but she had the height in her voice and that is exactly what Senta needs. Once you say someone should sing Sieglinde you are virtually implying that she should/can sing that because the tessitura is a lot lower than Senta.
