  • This video shows how to use my rv cable lubricator on both Lasalle Bristol and Valterra cables on your black and grey tank dump valves. It also shows the different air sources that can be used to pressurize the lubricator to push the lubricant through the cable. All the testing I have done has worked to free up the sticking and binding cables that are not allowing the tank valves to be opened or closed. I hope this is helpful to you, happy camping!!! My email is Rduckwall@hotmail.com. Thanks!

    It worked! Our travel trailer has been off the road for five years and the black tank dump valve was frozen. It was either cut open the bottom fabric or give this a try. Russ' invention saved us a MAJOR hassle. Thank you!

    After using this lubricator, my cables operate smoother than they have in years. I could never figure a way to get lube into the cable housing... didn't think of using air. I'm glad Russ did. I filled the lubricator 3 times on each cable; each time it got better. Would have gone another round on the black tank cable but the sun was going down. Gray tank cable was just shy of perfect. WAY better than when I started. That much improvement in less than an hour. Great product; thanks Russ.

    When I tried to empty the holding tanks on my recently purchased, pre-owned RV, I found that both black and gray valve cables were completely seized and it was impossible to open the valves - the one thing I'd overlooked in my inspection of the unit! Research on the subject led me to this valve cable lubricator, which I purchased from Russ and received promptly via first class mail. Now I am happy to report complete success - I was able to free up both black and gray dump valve cables using the lubricator.
    The process was straight forward. Using a tire inflator to provide air pressure into the lubricator, I pushed about 2 chambers of silicone grease into each cable and soon could see the grease dripping out at the opposite (valve) end. After some pushes and pulls on the handles, the cables both un-siezed and the valves opened and closed. Now I can finally empty my holding tanks and proceed with winterizing the coach.
    Thank you Russ for making this great tool available to the RV community!

    I purchased one of these and am well pleased. My gray tank for the shower was getting extremely hard to push and pull. I was told that I needed to replace my cable. After using Russell's lubricator my cable worked so easy I thought it broke. This is an amazing tool and I plan to lubricate my other cables before they get stuck. I filled the lubricator about six times and used my bicycle pump to push the lubricant through the cable. .This is something everyone should have in their tool box.

    Had great success with Russ’s cable lubricator. It made the cable movement significantly smoother. Very easy to set up and use. This will be a permanent part of my maintenance kit as I know I’ll need to lube the cables up over time. Thanks Russ!

    This lubricator worked for me. My black tank was a real struggle to pull and push. It was hurting my back on occasions due to handles being on right side of box. Made for an awkward pull/push. Tried down the tank additives with little relief. I knew it was the cable at that point. I'm glad I purchased this device. The pro's far outweighed the con's.

    I can’t thank you enough for creating this solution and for selling me one. The grey tank dump on my Eagle was seized in the open position. After the second “injection” of lube through the line the valve began working better than when it was new. I’m am so grateful that I did not have to bring my Jayco to the dealer for service and all my valves now operate better than I ever imagined! You are awesome ❤.

    I liked Russ's cable lubricator so much, I bought one. It worked as advertised and I was able to easily lubricate the 4 dump valve cables I have on my RV. I highly reccomend getting one of these to protect the cables on your RV! Thanks Russ. I appreciate you taking the time to make this and sell one to me!

      What type of lubricant did you use ?

    • @russellduckwall5784
      @russellduckwall5784  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use wd40, some people use dry lube and one customer used spray grease. If you read my reviews they talk about how it works. Thanks

    • @thomaso5176
      @thomaso5176 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@russellduckwall5784 I am confused. In your video you say to use a non-petroleum based lubricant. Yet here you say you use wd40, which is "45-50% low vapor pressure aliphatic hydrocarbon (isoparaffin)

    • @russellduckwall5784
      @russellduckwall5784  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Thomas, yes wd40 has some petroleum distillate, however it doesn’t attack rubber and plastic products like other oils, my main concern is that someone will use motor oil or marvel mystery oil. When the lubricant gets all the way through the cable it comes out in the under belly. I know wd40 dissipates and only leaves a light film. Any silicone spray grease that is thin enough to pass all the way through will work fine. Wd40 is readily available and inexpensive, I’ve only lubed my cables with it once a year and a half ago and they are still free.

    Russ, thank you for this awesome tip. I purchased one after finding this video and it worked as it was advertised. My pull handle for my second grey tank has been seized up for almost a year and I was able to free it up using this applicator. Fortunately the outlet is only for a grey tank and the valtera valve has been sufficient. However the fact that the built in valve hasn't been working has nagged at me since it froze. No more.

    Hi there. I have been watching your video about the lubricator and you said to use non petroleum lubricant. Is there any specific reason not to use petroleum based lubricant? From what I understand W-40 is petroleum based. Can you please advise? Thanks

    • @russellduckwall5784
      @russellduckwall5784  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert, I know wd40 has some petroleum distillate, I have not seen it attack rubber like motor oil or something like marvel mystery oil. I just don’t want people using motor oils with my lubricator. The way it goes all the way through the cable means it could get to the seal on the dump valve and cause it to soften and ruin it. Thanks, Russell

      Johnny, I had that same concern and contacted LaSalle Bristol who oddly told me they were just a distributor and didn't have a support department. They referred me to etrailer who I called next. They were happy to provide assistance and were almost certain I had a cable issue rather than a valve issue saying valves fail much less frequently than the cables. You might want to give their support team a call and run your situation by them. They were great to talk to.
