Hello, thanks so much for reaching out and sharing your feedback.
The Accent: Typically tell people I have a speech impediment….wait for awkward silence and then let them know I was spent my childhood in New Zealand 🇳🇿.

Would you please explain why you used Miracle Cushion instead of pure silicone clear caulk or dental impression material and what would you do differently if the horse you are helping with thin soles is ok to accept nail ons?

This horse had wonderful thick healthy hoof walls and nailing on shoes would have been simple. The hoof care provider that I was helping did not believe in nailing on shoes . So I gave her the option of glueing on the shoes . Glueing on the shoes was mostly for the owners peace of mind and I believe the horse appreciated the ease of standing have the shoes glued on.
Magic Cushion. In the past I have purchased pour in pads by the case , done hundreds of them, Also used DIM as packing for years. I have found in NW Washington has a relatively high moisture content with moderate temperature. As whole , I have found Magic cushion to be mostly the best product to use along with field paste, arti mud or hoof clay . I find it actually works at repelling the moisture, helps keep under the pad a anti-fungal bacterial free environment .
There are exceptions however I will find my self having this combo, be my go to .

Look up EasyCare VersaGrip Light, Stealth Cuffs and Versa Plug . There are multiple dealers in the USA and are starting to be ship and have dealers internationally as well.

Aah! 😂 I'm South African and worked in the US for a couple of years and got similar responses.. But wasn't quick /savvy enough to respond wth the speech impediment quip.
Thought you may have had a SAfrican connection. Southern Hemisphere Kiwi/SA/Aus throws people completely.
Did the rugby bug bite? Are you watching the World Cup?
Trivia aside, really the way your head and hands work wth feet

No, rugby did not come to me easily as a child, but the Haka, still calls to my roots strongly.

Was this a new client? or a previous client? if Previous, was there any underlying issue that caused the thin sole? i.e. Lymes, IR, cushings... or anything else that could have caused this to begin with? Thank you so much for your videos.

    • @ModernDayHoofCare

Hello , all good questions. This was a new client first time dealing with the feet . The horse owner was doing the hoof care prior to me choosing to help out. I believe for this horse having thin soles was its environment. Wet winter and a gravel paddock that this horse lived 24/7.
The metabolic concerns where all on the table and where being addressed. Mostly this horse just needed more protection and not have the environment keep over exfoliating her feet . Thanks for reaching out and appreciate knowing you find the videos helpful. Still lots for me to learn on how to present, film, document and share the information clearly. So your questions are welcomed. Cheerio Chris

@@ModernDayHoofCare I assumed it must be a new client as I have seen your work and would not think a horse's hoof could go that thin with out you realizing something was incredibly wrong way before this point. I too have seen may soft hooves through out this wet summer, tho not this soft. Thank you for your explaination and I truely hope that that is all it is. Seems like it after just a couple shoeings. Keep the vids coming, they help us all out very much :-)
