My front driver's side window would open no problem. But it would not always come back up. Seemed like an issue with the contact. Took a chance, ordered the switch panel & just followed the video. It works great now! I am a very unlikely candidate to undertake such a repair, so I'm pretty stoked that it worked so well! I (and my 14-year-old Saturn) thank you for this video!
You may want to check the wire harness that goes between the driver side door and the body of the car to see if there's a broken or a frayed wire in there. If there is it would more than likely also cause a loss of power to the window switch.
The issue could be related to either a bad BCM or it could be from a faulty wiring harness grounding out the wiring. You might want to check all the fuses and then move onto the wiring in the vehicle.

Not sure why you removed the mirror switch, but oh well. I just replaced my 2006 Ion master window switch with a brand new one because none of them lit up like the owners manual says they should. It was a super easy replacement, and did NOT need to remove the mirror switch. BUT, even with a new master switch, still no lights! About all I can say is the new aftermarket switches look a LOT nicer than the stock ones did. Now if I could just figure out why they don't light up!
This looks easy enough, hope I'm able to do it & this small repair will be the issues...Just happened today, my driver side window won't go back up, the buttons work for all windows up/down, except driver side & passenger back window wont go up but can go down.
I had a problem with m 03 Ion Quad Coupe where the passenger side window would go down, but not back up. The driver side power door lock also doesn't work, but the passenger side does. Chevy dealership told me it was the body control module and a $900 repair. With my brothers help, a Hayes manual and a couple hours, it was a switch issue. Technically it's still not repaired, but we ran a bypass directly from the battery and got the window to go up and down. $0 fix > $900 dealership ripoff.

my Saturn Ion 03 , has trouble with all 4 windows . The passage goes down ,but not back up . then both rear windows wont work at all . The drivers window works as long as the window is all the way up , then lowers. As you pointed out it may have gotten wet . Do You think getting one from a junk yard is worth it ? Im on a fixed income an cant afford a $300 part.

I found a broken ground wire on the wiring harness inside the rubber boot between the door and the car. There were also two other wires about ready to brake.

Mine went out and made my rear left window not work and get stuck, had a shop replace it they charged me $200 and the window worked for a week now it’s stuck up 🙄 oh well I don’t use that window, only needed it fixed to get the windows tinted now they are so we good
One of my winshield wiper arms have seperated from under the unreachable hood causing my driver's side wiper to act erratic and bend all up. Now when activated, wiper won't stay on winshield and flops off of car entirely. Somebody please enlighten me as to how much this may cost and WHERE I can get it foxed please?
What type of screws are these? Philips. torqs? There is so much dirt in their I cannot figure it out. Next time show the bit or say there are two torqs screws rather than two screws.

That's a very common place to loose power due to a broken wire.
