So, I watched this little show on Netflix last month and for those of you who follow me on Twitter and/or on Tumblr, you know my obsession. And I know I'm not a teenager anymore but when a show is that good, you can't escape the obsession! And it's a musical show!!! I mean, if you know me, you know I had to watch it AND I had to love it! The story is so good! All the characters are amazing and the songs... THE SONGS!!! Guys, I can't stop listening to the soundtrack! Honestly, if you haven't watched it yet, then what are you waiting for? We need a season two!!!
The story behind this video: Well, like I said, all the characters are amazing and so sweet. I love them all! I see myself in Julie and in each of the boys, but for personal reasons, I feel a deeper connection with Luke. So I decided to tell his story with this video. I love how passionate and enthusiastic he is! I just love him.

Luke's story is so heart wrenching like
This kid has the biggest passion for music of anybody that's ever lived
And from the beginning his parents supported that
They bought him the guitar
They let him play but obviously he was more into it than they anticipated and they wanted him to do something that wasn't as much of a risk but he had Reggie, Alex and Bobby telling him it was worth it
They're his ride or dies (literally)
He runs away to be with the people that support him and let him be himself and let him focus on what's important to him
Luke seems like the type to have almost broken up the band more than a few times because he would run them down in rehearsals till it's perfect
But all in all he's a good guy and he cares and that's the almost part about it because he will fix that friendship before he let's that go over a chord progression
He's not gonna go off and do music by himself
The dream isn't the fame it's the connection and his connection with his band is unbreakable
Then this kid dies on the most important night of his life
The performance he worked his but off to get absolutely obliterated by a hotdog sold by a guy running a hotdog stand out of his car engine in an alley.
He doesn't get to perform, he doesn't get to show his parents he chose the right thing, he doesn't get to apologize for just ditching them even if it wasn't entirely his fault he still felt bad about it and they still loved each other and it was his only regret
Then Luke gets yanked into the future to find out he can still play music with his two best friends but the third member of his band stole his legacy also he's falling in love with a girl he can't touch (and touch is his love language so it's rough) and now he can see his parents again but he can't apologize and he can't let them know he's okay and still living his dream (or following cause he's not alive) and then on top of all that creepy ghost club man branded him and he gets electrocuted anytime he talks about not having anything else to do
But at least he has music
At least he has his best friends
At least he can sing to julie and express his love for her and at least people know and love his music
And then Julie gives him some closer with his parents, they perform his dream show together and they get their hug at the end so he can touch her now
It's wild what he goes through but it's so powerful and one of my favorite parts of the show is all of the characters have that sort of rich history and they have a reason for being the way they are and their actions always make sense
The writers knew what they were doing with this one
I almost cried when I read " He's falling in love with a girl he can't touch and thats his love language"😭

There needs to be a bit where Luke punches her shoulder and she pretends like it hurts but then she punches his and he feels it everywhere in his little ghost body

You really explained Luke's story brilliantly I hope this show gets second season and hope Netflix doesn't lose their mind and do something stupid like not renewing this show cause that would be terrible this show is brilliant with every character having a strong well written background story such an amazing brilliant talented cast I have watched a lot of shows but we rarely come across such a well thought show or such an amazing talented cast

It’s really awesome how Luke isn’t one of those guys who cares just about the money. I think it’s really awesome how he cares about the songs and I feel like that’s what a true musician is.

Protect luke at all costs. He is way to nice for this world! He derserves everything. I love this guy so much and kiddos to Charlie. He did justice to his character and his love for music. I'm literally tearing up!

Luke lives for his music, and his friends it fills my heart it’s just......🥺
IM CRYING
Luke has become my #1 comfort character of all time. I can really relate to him with his parental issues, but just in general, his story MOVED ME TO TEARS. I know Julie, Alex, and Reggie all love music too but Luke LIVES AND BREATHES MUSIC. He's the most passionate person ever and I find that so admirable.
Also, I was blown away by Charlie's acting. He's definitely going places. He's SO talented!!

I don't know why I'm crying either. Maybe it's because we connected with his story, or it spoke to us in some way.
If you cried watching this, then know that you're not alone. People cry for various reasons. A painful reminder, an unforgettable feeling, that indescribable thing inside you that just clicks, but there's no way to tell anyone cuz you'd have to *feel* it to understand. And sometimes we cry for all these reasons. This made me cry because Julie and the Phantoms reconnected me with my dream. I want to be an actress/musician. But lately I just haven't felt it like I used to. I've gotten so caught up with everything else in my life, and then I watched this show, and I felt that "click" and knew, and *remembered* my choice. Music is who I am.

When I was a little girl my twin sister and I used to sing the Judds. We grew up wanting to be Country singers. We are both in our 40’s and our dreams never came true. I agree not everyone gets to do what they were born to do. If you want it go after it. Don’t live in regrets. This show got me singing again and made me realize that I will always love to sing.

I started but got Frustrated because it’s hard for me to play with my radial club hand but I figured just because I have a birth defect doesn’t mean I can’t do it. I believe in you. Luke's passion for music is so inspiring. It makes me want to try my best in my own life. I love that his love of music is from the connection to people not money or fame. He cares about other people not just his own fame and success. The amount of empathy he has is astonishing.
So excited for season 2, to get more into the back stories of Alex and Reggie as well. Luke's character is written so well and fully fledged out. Hopefully they do the same deep dive into Alex and Reggie's pasts as well.

This is by far one of the best edits I’ve ever seen and I’ve watched a few. Luke’s passion for music is so inspiring, he did it out of love for what he was creating with his band mates, it was never about the popularity or the money it was all about love. You can tell the close bond the guys have cause as mentioned Luke’s love language is touch, when he’s hugging his bandmates and leaning on them it’s his way of letting them know he appreciates and loves them, with Julie it was harder cause he couldn’t touch her but he let her know through music (guitar riff in Edge of Great and the shared look), I love how he didn’t hesitate to trust her with Unsaid Emily, I love the characters in this show but Luke is Def my fav, his passion, his love and support makes him a loveable, likeable character.
REGGIE STORY !! IF WILL BE S2
This is truly the best fan made video I have ever seen, the reason Julie and the phantoms have become so popular even among adults despite mainly being a teen show is this show talks about regrets over lost opportunities, regret over never getting to fulfill your dream,sometimes even being afraid of taking a step towards your dream something adults can relate too which I guess is why this show has viewers of all ages not many show gets such a wide range of viewers and gains so much popularity in the first season specially with only such a few episodes where most episodes are only around 25 minute most shows that gains such popularity with a small number of episodes the epis are at least an hour long

Okay, I just wanted to say something. Some of you are asking me to make Reggie's story, or Alex's story or Julie's story or even Willie and Alex's story. And that's okay, like I said, thank you for the support and loving my work but I actually don't take requests for my mental health. When someone ask me to use a song or make a video, it makes me really anxious and my brain stops working. When I make a video, it's because the idea comes from me and I have a song and I know what I wanna tell throught the video. Of course, I would know what to tell about Julie, Reggie, Alex and Willie but all I'm saying is that I have a whole process. When I made this video, of course I thought of Reggie and Alex but to me, we sadly don't know enough about them yet to tell their full story like Luke. But since Kenny said that we'll learn more about them in S2, I wanna wait and tell their story then (COME ON NETFLIX, STOP BEING RUDE ABOUT IT AND MAKE THE ANNNOUNCEMENT ALREADY!). So, I'm not saying that I won't make them, I'm just saying not yet, not now.

I can't tell you that I will make Alex or Julie's story. I can't promise you that. But I've thought about it. I could definitely make Julie's if I find the perfect song. Same thing for Alex but I know that we'll get more of his story if we have a S2, so I kinda wanna wait. If we don't get a S2, I'll definitely try to tell his story the best I can. And same thing for Reggie. But for now, I kinda wanna wait.

Before they eat the hot dogs, there's a missing person poster about Luke. You can see his last name there. But the JATP official IG page posted the guys names weeks ago too.
In the first episode of Julie and the phantoms the guys were eating hot dogs tainted hot dogs I think it was some place like a club and there was this poster with a missing person on it and it turns out that person was Luke and it mentioned his last name as Luke Patterson I didn't realize the poster was there or even recognize it until I watched it a second time I think it's very important to pay attention to detail
