So of everyone is over pricing/bidding or doing interest check then it will only inflate the prices more as more people come in and start selling
AmmyWolf I 100% get this but if a product is in such a high demand that multiple people are willing to pay that much for it (hence getting the bid up to a high price) then i dont really think its ‘overpriced’ as its what people want to pay for it as they’re the ones making the bids, not the sellers. I sell lots of vintage on depop and usually I can’t find other people selling the same products so I ask people to send me offers because I don’t know how much people are willing to pay. There’s lots of people that aren’t doing this so I say just buy from them or go straight to Brandy and cut out the middle man. I think Brandy Melville clothes are somewhat rare. For one, they don’t fit a lot of people so it’s only limited to a smaller demographic. And also, the online US Brandy store shut down. Meaning the clothes are not available anymore. And if somethings not available anymore typically the demand for the item(s) will go up. Therefore, increasing the price that these people are able to sell it for. And also, this might be just my experience but it’s mostly the girls in the US that are up-selling their Brandy items. So until the Brandy store is open for good. Then the prices will lower on Depop because consumers will realize they can get same Brandy items for a much cheaper price on the Brandy site. So in turn the people on Depop will sell their Brandy clothes for cheaper or about the same that Brandy does. To compete with the other girls that sell Brandy on Depop so they can ‘stay afloat’.
I recommend turning on post notifications for instagrams like @ get.brandymelville and brandyalerts. They post whenever they come across brandy listings that are being sold for a reasonable price/ under retail. Super helpful!

Last summer I worked at a huge bandy melville and during the summer brandy re-designs their stores every single week (bc its so busy). we would also get new shipments every week to redo the store and i remember so clearly getting literally 10 boxes of that embroidered dragon top every week…i still have nightmares about folding hundreds of those tops but yeah basically they aren't collectors items

Well, I'm pretty happy being able to buy and use Vinted, you usually find Zellys and all of these "rare" items for 5-10 euros; but they are selling so quick it's crazy. Depop is another level. Other the last few months I was able to buy more than 400+euros worth of brandy clothes for 150 euros or less ; plus it's second hand so that's pretty great.
The main two problems I have with Brandy is the whole "one size fits all" sizing, it honestly disgusts me. And second, it's so overpriced for what it is. But they're clothes are sooooo cute ahhhhhh. One thing that makes some items more “rare” is that they have more or different items in store that aren’t on the website. So these girls that are inflating the prices probably live close to the store and know that it will seem rare to people who can only shop online. Some people also purchase from brandy at other countries for different items
Just saying, i sell rare brandy because they are collector items. The items with the cheetah prints are VERY rare because they aren’t sold anymore. I don’t think its very right to sell these items for hundreds of dollars but they should sell for more because they are sought after and no longer sold. My first “rare” sale was the ashlyn cheetah top and i sold it for $120. To be honest, I shouldn’t have done that but i then sold another one for $45 and then the Huntington Beach demon asher sweater for $50. It’s not that bad to sell them for a higher price because they are collector items for some people but it IS bad to sell the pink cheetah ashlyn top for $120. Also i just wanted to say that that Chelsea stafford girl on depop tried to buy a rare top from me for $12 and she would have sold it again for $50. Bin basically means that if you really want the item and don't wanna bid for it you can pay that price and get it immediately. Also owning something five years old makes it old not vintage. Last summer I worked at a huge bandy melville and during the summer brandy re-designs their stores every single week (bc its so busy). we would also get new shipments every week to redo the store and i remember so clearly getting literally 10 boxes of that embroidered dragon top every week…i still have nightmares about folding hundreds of those tops but yeah basically they aren't collectors items
also some depop brandy girls are moving to mercari which is another resale app that i sell/buy on and it’s ruining the feed:( and then other sellers notice the high prices so u cant buy anything under retail now rip

Well, I'm pretty happy being able to buy and use Vinted, you usually find Zellys and all of these "rare" items for 5-10 euros; but they are selling so quick it's crazy. Depop is another level. Other the last few months I was able to buy more than 400+euros worth of brandy clothes for 150 euros or less ; plus it's second hand so that's pretty great.
The main two problems I have with Brandy is the whole "one size fits all" sizing, it honestly disgusts me. And second, it's so overpriced for what it is. But they're clothes are sooooo cute ahhhhhh.

One thing that makes some items more “rare” is that they have more or different items in store that aren’t on the website. So these girls that are inflating the prices probably live close to the store and know that it will seem rare to people who can only shop online. Some people also purchase from brandy at other countries for different items

Just saying, i sell rare brandy because they are collector items. The items with the cheetah prints are VERY rare because they aren’t sold anymore. I don’t think its very right to sell these items for hundreds of dollars but they should sell for more because they are sought after and no longer sold. My first “rare” sale was the ashlyn cheetah top and i sold it for $120. To be honest, I shouldn’t have done that but i then sold another one for $45 and then the Huntington Beach demon asher sweater for $50. It’s not that bad to sell them for a higher price because they are collector items for some people but it IS bad to sell the pink cheetah ashlyn top for $120. Also i just wanted to say that that Chelsea stafford girl on depop tried to buy a rare top from me for $12 and she would have sold it again for $50. I follow her and she lists not rare items for a butt load of money and it’s literally a scammmmm
