My favorites after trying 100 are La Rouche Posay SPF50 serum sunscreen (from the hydrating line) and the Canmake Mermaid Skin SPF (*J Beauty brand.. super affordable!). Neither have a white cast and they are both great under makeup.
@@lavellans damn! I wonder if they have different versions because I’ve heard that from other people too, but the one I have is clear like a gel moisturizer
The CeraVe Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is literally the worst sunscreen I’ve ever used. It’s seriously so irritating it feels burny on your entire face, and it actually looks like white face paint. I am a white woman. It still looks super white cast I used to wear it and people would ask me if I had a sulfur masque on. White crumble pieces get in your eyebrow and hair line. Do not waste your money on this it is seriously so ass
Any sunscreen that has titanium dioxide and zinc oxide listed as an active ingredient will leave a white cast. If you want a sunscreen with no white cast, look for avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, and octocrylene in the active ingredients list. Usually they’re all chemical sunscreens.
i use black girl sunscreen as a mexican girl. i have tanner skin and had a lot of discoloration and my dermatologist recommended it for me,i get the cream one and i love using it!
I use the Blackgirl sunscreen and I be greasy like in my Vaseline days as a child. But I love it. Also forever said reapply your sunscreen after 2 hours lied. Generally it’s every number of SPF but in minutes. If you use 30 SPF then 30 minutes (to a hour) if you use 70 SPF then 70 minutes (to 2 hours). That 10 hours doesn’t count sweating, oils produced by the skin, swimming in different types of water etc etc
SPF is not measured by time. “…SPF of at least 30, which blocks 97 percent of the sun's UVB rays…A high-number SPF does not allow you to spend additional time outdoors without reapplication. Sunscreens should be reapplied approximately every two hours when outdoors, even on cloudy days, and after swimming or sweating, according to the directions on the bottle.”-American Academy of Dermatology
I tried the CeraVe sunscreen and let my tell you that shi made me look like an ice cube I looked dead it was so bad 💀 Also I currently use the Ulta Sheer and it really good and works well also something that I use is a beauty blender to blend the sunscreen good 😅
I have oily skin and use black girl sunscreen and it feels like a primer . It does feel oily but doesn't clog my pores. Then I put tarte foundation wich is matte and cancels out the oily feeling from the sun screen.
YES !! When I saw the numbuzin sunscreen i clicked so fast. I love using it in the summer because it is the only sunscreen that does not make my face feel hot.Chemical spfs tend to do that :(
The numbuzin is literally my favorite ever. I just got it not too long ago, but i still have a bunch of other sunscreen that i need to use up. Once im done with the others, im never going back lol
hii in case you don’t know - mixing sunscreen with anything is really not a good idea because it can make the sunscreen apply all splotchy and not protect your skin! all love🩷 -an esthetician :)
Or go get a chemical sunscreen instead. They don’t leave a white cast behind, even as someone who is melanated. A lady at Ulta told me that you’ll know a sunscreen is a chemical sunscreen if you see avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate, and octocrylene in the active ingredients list. Avoid any sunscreen that contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide since those are the ones that leave behind a white cast.
Thanks for the very useful and thorough reviews. Unfortunately, the No.1 Clear Filter Sun Essence is no longer available at YS. Have you found an alternative that works for you?
@@zukiii_ try the skin 1004 hyalu-cica water fit sunscreen, it is SO sheer, NO white cast and amazing for acne prone skin (also Korean brand). Edit to add price: super affordable, $14 (Canadian) so even less in USD

I don’t think people understand what melanin is and how it’s in everybody, even animals. Sorry just had to say something about the title it bothers me lol.
Yes but darker skin tone = more melanin which is why people are referring to black skin when they use the word. As a pale girl it’s not a big deal 2 me.
@@Imded02 Go ahead and believe the hype if you want to....but they've been trying to synthesis melanin cuz it's the BEST defense against sun damage..... so now they wanna block the sun from people who are in sync with solar radiation and use natural and synthetic melanin for people who naturally burn.....WAKE UP already!
That is not the case. Melanin does help and it helps to reduce your risk of getting sun burns (black people do still get sunburns) but it is not a replacement for sunscreen! No matter what your skin tone is YOU NEED SUNSCREEN. Skin cancer does not discriminate.
Korean sunscreen has been winning for a long time! I knew I recognized that packaging 😂

Sadly the mermaid skin left a white cast on me
@@lavellans damn! I wonder if they have different versions because I’ve heard that from other people too, but the one I have is clear like a gel moisturizer
Canmake is Japanese, btw. The clear also leaves a very very subtle white cast on me since it’s a hybrid sunscreen. I still love it though.
@@camillet889 Ahhh you're right! I order through a K-Beauty site but they're Japanese! Thanks for correcting.
