  • This is a very simple process, and it takes practice to master it. Please don't be intimidated by avionics work, most of it is very simple.
    More content on the way, thank you for being here and watching i appreciate your time and willingness to learn

    As an avionics engineer who has done thousands of these, including damaged, corroded 60 year old ones, I commend you on how well you demonstrated this task.
    There is nothing difficult about pinning or depinning connectors, but being confident makes a huge difference.
    Its always about the "Feel" as you eluded to. If it doesnt feel right, stop, withdraw the wire/pin, inspect it and try again.
    Sometimes brand new commectors have manufacturing defects and the retaining mechanism doesnt work correctly.
    Biggest piece of advice... always remember to put the backshell up the loom before installing the connector 😂

      Awesome advice. Thank you so much. And my apologies for getting back to your comment so late. Got lost in the shuffle. Thank you for being here.

      @StigAviation great work buddy. At 4:32 I find it easier to insert the bare wire into the insertion tool 1 inch away from the contact, and then slide the tool till it meets the lip. Also, I'm interested to know if at your company do the let maintenance team do avionics work?

    Thank you for this. I'm a 2M tech on a ship and get asked to repin canon plugs often but I had never learned how to from the class. I always feel unsure and a little intimidated when I'm brought these 50 pin plugs.

      Thank you for watching, and in the beginning it can be a bit intimidating, but practice makes it easier over time

      May I ask if factors such as noise interference should be considered on Boeing projects, we can provide solutions for these high precision and high requirements, looking forward to more of your requests.

    Such kind of tool breaks quickly when you insert it inside

    • @StigAviation
      @StigAviation  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They have ones that are made of metal as well. But if you’re careful it won’t break. You have to be gentle with it
