This thing has had a series of nerfs that left it handicapped really badly, first it got it's APHE rounds "reworked" a.k.a. removed and replaced with solid shot, then it got it's BR increased unjustly IMO, and after all that it got hit with the stupid atgm physics which means that longer atgm shots are really hard to pull off, the only thing it's left with is an awesome HE-VT round.
The aphe was traded out for a stabilizer which this tank did not have lol, the BR nerfs were more than justified this tank was downright violating 8.3 and 8.7 tanks
with all the IFV in the game...this thing and Type 89 are the enjoyable to play, nimble and decent fire power sitting at decent BR while other IFV are in the BR that are even more struggle like the PUMA or whole CV9040 lines

Moreover while the auto cannon on the type 89 isn't bad, let me remind you it's missiles are nearly unusable (they literally drop to the ground unless you point upwards). @@Faded._ it perhaps it eaiser for me to fight 8.0 to 9.7 than being 10.3 and above. I find cv9040 abit slow. Like i played it before and it was light weight. After the xmas update i feel it quite slow to neutral steering then before. Beside just because it a good tank doesnt mean i can find the performance to my liking. Like most mbts from 9.7 and over. Ok i know why i feel it slow. For having 40mm bofor it turret is around 30-ish degree compare to other MBTs, that is slow for AFV and engine is 550hp slow to reach max speed hence why i have trouble neutral sterring compare to begleit 40ish degree turret speed and 770hp despite their weight different by 2 tons. i react much quicker in Begleit than CV9040...also begleit have 48 ammo in ready rack compare to CV9040B / C with 24 that can easily be depleted after killing 1 or 2 tanks.
As a German main, this thing still slaps imo. Sure its annoying to fight Russian tanks plastered with ERA but once you get a flank with this, its an easy 2-3 kills in 10 seconds and fun to see all those people leave the game after 😂
Out of all vehicles this is the one that didn't deserved to be put at higher BRs, it was just fine in 8.7 - 9.0 (RB), but given the new 7.7 - 8.0 lineups, it would be kind of iffy at 8.7
I haven't played this tank yet, but an player working my way up. I have an undescribable love for tanks ( that can kill both planes and tanks. I luv the - 2.3 USSR GAZ-MM 72-K -Zis 43 - 4.3 M42 - Lvkv 42 I already know I will love this tank once obtained, along with ZSU-57-2 (and its variants)
I feel like if the devs would actually play the game and sit down, have to spade a vehicle it would solve most these issues, but to do it right you need someone who is good at the game and someone who is bad to see the true nature of the vehicles performance in battle on both ends of the spectrum fully while also trying to grind through spading it. I main America and Russia and both trees at 7.7 and up have some strong balancing issues, on being with vehicles that are too high and one with vehicles that are too low, I am not a fan of vehicles br being changed off the stats of how good players are with them because you never really know the variables in play like if a vehicle is being used as it should be or if its a vehicle thats just sweaty. I just simply think they don’t really care and throw shit wherever they think it should fall
tbh nukenus i don't use any atgm on this bad boy because its just going to make me explode in no time. i use canon only and without atgm this thing become really servable i ben shot at 2 or 3 time in hull and got only red crow so yeeah they need to give it the apds with 180mm and just like that it would be really great
They did and called it the MARDER II, equipped with a 30 or a 50mm cannon, but thing is that thing was cancelled cuz it serve no purpose since the ussr collapse
Even if SAP pen is utter trash, it's explosive filler is marvelous and it can pen some vehicles, even MBTs. With that much filler, a shell penetrating will 100% kill the target. Pretty nice against AFV and IFV.
Its absolutely useless at 9.3 - it pens nothing, the rocket is useless and slow and its one shot from every angle. Just give it its proper APFSDS ammo atleast. Im out here fighting top-tier vehicles with ammo from the 40s.

I don’t see how it’s struggling, This tank is super easy to get kills with even at 9.3, and I often get up-ranked and it still slaps.

How do i use the HE-VT rounds on it? Since the new Update i cant select them anymore.
Click on one of the ammo compartments, and swap out the load. You can only have so many different types loaded at once. I had the same issue lol.
