Thanks for watching. This Honda mower was put up last winter for storage and now it won't start. Unfortunately this isn't going to go down without a fight. The fix has to do with a carburetor and gas issues. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
NIce fix: I usually pop out the emulsion tube when I pull the main jet out on the Honda's. Also I usually pull out the plastic idle jet under the idle screw and drill it out one size bigger on a mini drill set to make them run better. Question answer, either shut off the fuel valve on Honda's and some others or run the tank out and keep it dry. Ethanol gas pull moisture out of the air causing the tank to get lots of water in it. Couple of years ago I started using 91 octane ethanol frèe gas along with K100 stabilizer. Mower and snowblower start right up after storage and I don't bother draining fuel anymore. I find it less bother this way. Admittedly I can get ethanol free 5 miles from home which some can't do. Supposedly this treated fuel will last 2 years. I never buy enough to last more than 6 months. Same, we have 90 octane ethanol free gas and that's all my small engines get now. All the mowers started up without issue after being stored over the winter without being drained before hand.

I have to say this is my favorite mower ever, well the hydrostatic version of this anyway. I have three. I am a Toro fan by default, but his holds the top spot. They are so quiet, and that blade break is definitely the top notch

Just a thought, while you have gone to the trouble of accessing the main jet, its very little extra work to remove and clean the emulsion tube that all Honda carbies have. If the jet is dirty/blocked, its highly likely the emulsion tube is in similar condition. Very important the small holes on the side of the emulsion tube are free from blockage, and the engine will run that much better.

We've never had an issue with storing our lawn equipment over the winter period,we still do a tiny bit of mowing in Australia but the cooler weather slows the growth of grass down considerably so we might only mow once at winter time.
I know my brother had trouble with the fuel pump & metering diaphragm hardening up in his Honda GX35 line trimmer after long storage so I rekitted the carburetor for him !

I have always run them dry before storing for the winter, never once had a starting problem in the spring. Been doing that since way before ethanol was around, still do it to this day and still no problems. Same with the snow thrower and the generator, both start on the first pull when I need them. Easy to do, don’t know why everyone doesn’t just do it.

learned my lesson years ago. No more glommed up carburetors by using ethanol free gas and PRI-G stabilizer. Leave gas in equipment and they fire right up in spring time.

At the end of the year I mt. the tank while I do the last mow and then put enough Truefuel in it to finish and put
the mower in a shed for the winter. I have taken the mower in the shop in march to go over it oil and filter change
as needed the usual tune up but some times I don't get to it until later but still do it.
Never had a problem since I started doing this, Mower is 11 years old and tired so I may retire it after this year.
Maybe because I just picked up a nice used Yardman with a Honda. We'll see. Love that old Toro.

I have one of these except without the blade clutch. Circa 1994. No cracks in deck. Transmission had a bad needle bearing on the input shaft. Inherited from my neighbour who upgraded a few years ago. In the fall I drain the tank and bowl. I store mine outdoors, not recommended.
I hate to say it but I do the same.
i have been owning and using the H9onda push mowers with the nexite deck for years its the same material thyer nfl football helmets are made from they did have a problem with the older decks cracking they have fixed that now the new ones come with a 5 year warranty on the decks. You should always either use a fuel stabilizer or drain the gas from the carb anytime an engine is going into long term storage it is most definitely worth it come the next time you want to use the machine. Just watched this today but cleaned the carb on the exact same mower and it was the worst most gumed up and clogged carb I’ve ever done, same with yours my started first pull after the carb clean

Great video. I have a similar honda which has one additional problem - the chock / throttle lever wont stay engaged. I'm planning to replace that part since it's only a few dollars.

If I am not going to start my machine for several months I try to drain or run out the gas. Seems like you never get it all out anyway. Sometimes I do have to clean the carbs. in the spring time anyway. Thanks for sharing. Personally I don't like plastic decks.

Instead of removing both studs get two bolts the same size from the hardware store cut the heads of and use those in place of the studs after removing the carb. Assemble the carb and gaskets slide carb assembly on bolts then replace one bolt with a stud at a time. No fighting with the whole assembly installing.
I do it and have seen other guys do it also.

It's always better to remove the fuel from ANY lawn tools BEFORE storage to avoid carburetor issues later on

Always run the machine till the gas tank is completely empty, then no problems will result come springtime.

For winter storage, I would just run my equipment out of gas. I would use a top tier, premium unleaded gas that I would treat with sea-foam. I never had a problem in spring. Just late last year, I now run my power equipment with ethanol free gas and purchased "canned gas" at the store. Ethanol is just bad for small engines. It destroys fuel lines, carburetors and seals.
You are 100% correct
The only thing I've had trouble with is the plastic cam Briggs on the pressure washer (main jet) but I'm going to drain it shortly and blow the system out with the compressor and put some anti freeze in the pump. Thanks and Blessings!

I have a husky that has the same engine as that the mower is in bad shape but the engine is bulletproof also have to Briggs and Stratton there not as good but still not bad anyway keep the content coming

@@HomeGaragechannel it starts for a few seconds then putters out...the carb looked pretty clear and the plug should be good if its starting, right? new gas too... i've used it several times this season already.. now it won't keep running.

I have that exact same mower that I found I've had it fixed I've had the carburetor cleaned out twice and then I put a new carburetor on itthe adjustments that they had on it it won't close the butterfly on the carburetor so I took it back to them and they did the adjustments on it hopefully it works this time

It is definately worth the effort to run it out of gas at the end of the season, or alas, you will definately end up with this diagnosis again. Most people will throw the mower away and just buy a new one when this happens, and that is a waste.

I always run pure gas in my mower as you stated ethanol gas does not store well

My HRM215 is always difficult to start cold. A spray of starter fluid in the exhaust starts the mower always. What is the issue with my mower?
sure, you need to make sure, that when you move the throttle lever to the choke position that the choke plate on the carb is closing fully. Remove the air filter and look at the brass plate, and have someone move the lever into and out of choke and make sure it closes when it's supposed to.
How do you change the fuel lines on this mower
The fuel line is on the left side of the tank. It connects from the bottom to the fuel valve then from the valve to the carb. Remove and replace them
I buy my fuel from our local Air port, never any problems, non ethanol

I got a Yard Force 166cc 4 Stroke 21" and it won't start. I changed the oil, I purchased a new spark plug. Barely used it since last year. A bit stressed about it as I am trying to move out of my home soon. I will try all these and pray I guess.

Hey I have this exact model and I installed a new carburetor and it makes spark and It has good gas but it won’t start . What can you suggest is the problem?
try using some starting fluid and see it runs briefly then try using a compression tester and see if it has enough to run.

Fun fact, the water will actually take the Ethanol with it, since alcohol dissolves in water, so the gas that is on top is now ethanol free.

I have a personal rule: If it has a carb, it gets nothing but non-ethanol gas. I keep a 5 gallon can around for all my small engines.

Fuel line (at stopcock) won't come off mine, even the fuel line circlip was awkward. Any tips?
you might have to use a flathead screwdriver, to get it started, then try twisting the line off the stopcock.

I drain the fuel and run them dry. Out of curiosity, I wonder why I tend to see you working on a lot of things in the grass instead of on your driveway. If you drop small parts in the grass, finding them can be a major pain.

Just the main jet? :/ Usually water seizes all the carb parts and you'll need to buy a new one.
The water exposure was very brief. I think the water came from the can to tell you the truth.
