Hey Ashley! I’m curious, I see you mentioned that you have your ear to the ground and hear about tends, or what’s over etc. and I’m wondering what resources do you use to stay in the know? I’m sure it’s part of your job but even for the average person or someone in a different niche that can’t focus on it, are there easy resources to stay up to date on what’s happening? THX💕
Such a great question! For me, staying on top of trends means diving directly into real campaigns/what we’re seeing in our agency, ads, etc ... nature of the job (like you said) & my personality, I inhale a LOT of media ha. 🙈🤣I don’t know if really follow anything for trend analysis as much as just interpret in real time, but again I think that’s bc marketing/journalism is the only industry I’ve ever worked in. For the average person, I’d suggest starting with platforms like X to see any thought leadership from brands or marketing/business leaders go down in real time. That’d for SURE be your best marketing news ticker. Start with like, MarketingBrew and go down bunny trails from there. I also try to make my weekly emails a helpful resource, breaking down marketing news in a way that’s practical for creatives (they’ll start back this wk). I hope that’s helpful!
