      There have been a half dozen times the games of such importance were cut short due to the rule, the chiefs bills game was the one that broke the camels back. The rule change was imminent its just a shame it didn't happen after the falcons loss to N.E. in the superbowl, had it happened after that game Mahommes would've gotten a chance against Brady in the AFC title shot and Josh Allen would've gotten the same chance last year. This rule change benefits the league.

    After this game, I actually said out loud, "That was the most perfect display of quarterback play I've ever seen". Then, I had to think for a moment. Any statement of superlatives must be checked for hyperbole and recency bias.
    It was at that point, I saw an analyst point out something that confirmed any assertion ... Never before had there been a game in which both quarterbacks :
    1) threw for over 300 yards
    2) accounted for 4 touchdowns
    3) completed 75% of attempted passes
    4) had 0 turnovers
    5) compiled quarterback ratings over 130
    6) Led their teams in rushing.
    Add to that, the fact that there were only 4 penalties, no turnovers by other players, incredibly clutch performances by both teams, superb play calling and clock management by both coaching staffs - even both defenses played very well for 58 minutes and 7 seconds... That might be, objectively, the greatest football game ever played. I certainly don't recall having seen a better one.

    • @presidentresident
      @presidentresident 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only way it could get better would be a few less knife through butter TDs in a 28-22 win because the defenses where also making brilliant plays. Luckily both teams key stone copped it at about an equal amount of times.

    • @whitewhale9012
      @whitewhale9012 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      4 penalties.... yeah.
      People will give the defenses crap, but both lines were holding on every play. DBs got away with a lot. I was joking about it during the game. I feel like officials were handed a notice to swallow their whistles after the wildcard round.
      Missed calls do NOT irritate fans nearly as much as bad calls that change momentum.

    Mathieu being out so early is why Allen and Davis cooked their defense. Especially the last play. Mathieu would be there to help out Mike Hughes. He just knows where to be.
