When 6 volt said are you gonna make it run or is it just gonna sit in the yard like everything else I about fell outta my seat laughing! he aint right but he also aint wrong! 😂 chip of the ol block.
Replace the top. Put it back to the original cab. Make a drag and drive truck. Fix the rear suspension in to a link set up. Drop a massive engine in it, SickWeek will never be the same!!
Anyone else thinking to chime in to correct them on that rear axle....???? That's an Eaton HO72. Good for what it was back in the day, but extremely limited aftermarket support. Junkyard fodder.
I’d either redo the roof with a factory roof or find a whole cab. I think it’d be a cool ramp truck! That rear axle is an Eaton H.O.52. I have the same rear axle in my 67’ C/20. Mine has a 5:12 gear ratio. I’m swapping it out for a cab and chassis dually rear axle out of a square body truck.
What I would do with the truck is try to fabricate a removable top altogether that you can still fasten back into place that is stock height. That would be pretty cool. Lower the front end a bit and put a nice little small block in there.
My vote would be to finish their great idea, but do it legit. Use a custom wrap-around front glass and make the rest of the top out of good metal and make the back nice. By the time you're done, it'd be a great, usable 1 of 1 truck. That could fit a BIG powertrain in it as well. An all-motor 8.1L would be my beast of choice. (496 EFI)
First gen blazer windshield header panel. You can get an aftermarket kit. Ihave read but havent verified that 70 and 80 's chevy van a pillars match these year trucks.
The rear axle is an Eaton HO 52 or something similar…drop out center section like a 9 inch, used to have Detroit lockers available, came in the mid 60’s Chevy GMC pickups up to 1972.
Just imagine how many more classics would still be on the road if people who want to cut them up would just do the boring repairs that they would have to do eventually anyway first. Fixing the rockers and floors that there are already aftermarket parts for before chopping and shaving that will all have to be made by hand. Alsp FYI, if a replacement title was easy to get, it would have been got.
I see potential. I would definitely make it into a "roadster", ditch the rear end, and 8 lug frontend, shorten the wheelbase, do a rockcrawler style narrowed frontend with junky parts, and then put a set of 33" slicks, skinnys, and some kind of ridiculous motor to just cruise it, be a nuisance and do MASSIVE burnouts😂
Early blazers were eventually a convertible. Use a windshield frame from one if you want a convertible. A cab and chassis dually rear end should be narrower than a pickup dually rear. Use that and put a style side bed on it . Or if you feel real funky make a dually blazer out of it. Longer wheel base and all
Channel and drop the body lower, take off the roof, fit a windscreen of no more then 3 inches tall, hey presto, world's only C-30 Spyder. Roll hoops for two seats, spray the inside with bedliner and toss in some vinyl floor mats, then stitch up a leather cover like English sports cars get. Make sure whatever powers it fits under the hood.
Good Sunday morning everyone. Thanks David for the video and the wrenching 🛠️🪛🔧🔨🇺🇸 everyone remember through everything we endure good times and troubled times keep Jesus Christ in your life and heart. For he is the answer through it all ✝️💪🙏
Some folks don’t need to own saws all s ! That just sad they had too many beers and bad ideas ! Get rid of the TOPKICK ! Kick it to the junkyard! Topkicks and Kodiaks are too hard to find parts for and aren’t worth owning !
I'm all for making this a permanent convertible/roadster. It's a shame they messed one cab up. No sense in taking another good cab part to fix this truck. It's just not that nice. Rat Hauler gooseneck set up and call it done.
It definitely deserves a shot at a new life, but they ruined the cab. Fix the top, C notch the rear end, Cummins diesel it with manual trans and let it eat!!
This thing is the definition of "I got a cool idea", 3 friends, and a lot of beer.
your son definitely got his revenge dig for the shorty comment 🤣🤣🤣
I've got a 1970 GMC C30 in my backyard that'll make Shorty tall again. Come on up to SC, bring a little money and a big trailer and get it!
Your boy busting your chops is the best love it

Someone had a good vision. Finish the job!! Don't make it boring with a standard top.
Dude!!! Looks like yard art!!!✌️
New Top To cool for School. Air Condition cab gotta save it, Dave
Blower 😅😅😅😅
I was eyeballing that '57 so I'm glad you gave us a tour of it.
Anyone else thinking to chime in to correct them on that rear axle....???? That's an Eaton HO72. Good for what it was back in the day, but extremely limited aftermarket support. Junkyard fodder.
That poor cab! I’d replace the roof with a donor. Should be a few candidates here in GA. I would NOT invite the crew that did the “chop” to assist!
I'd be worried about that grenade, the way everything else was done...
😂😂😂😂 or is it gonna sit in our yard forever.
Kids brutal!
Replace the top, find a bed for it. Make it whole again. This truck deserves to be back on the road in one piece.
Haha, your son’s likely been talking to his Mom with those comments! At least that’s the MO around here.
Oh how I can relate when someone tells me "you got so much stuff... nothin runs" hahahaha!
And this ladies and gentlemen is why we never start a project at 3am.
Put a blazer windshield frame and doors on it. 👍
Hey Dave, looking at that truck(?) makes me tired, too! 😲🙄😖
I’d either redo the roof with a factory roof or find a whole cab. I think it’d be a cool ramp truck!

Sometimes drinking too much with your buddies is not a good idea!!!😂😂
I see a collaboration between you and Rat Rod Bob on this

Definitely needs a proper chop top and some stacks with a blower sticking out the hood
Use it to save a cab with rusty floors + firewall. There’s a couple of those out there
i like it. could be a very cool truck. 454/turbo 400 or 6.0/turbo 400
The little one sounds like every car guys wife lol. You need to get him away from her lmao
Bo Brazz, from Ohi,
I think put on a blazer chassis and use a Blazer window frame.
Cut the Blazer top to fit. Have fun brother.

A 1 ton convertible would be a new concept.
I like it but it's rough. Rebuild the chop top but properly.
Woof. Combine it with another cab somehow, take the bed to the local scrap yard
The rear end is an HO72 1 Ton, probably has 5.14 gears, hard to find any gear set taller than 4.10, good luck.
Cut any decent roof. With the A pillars. Shorten the donner roof. Potentially easy 2 graft back on Shorty. Also could graft longer doors. Mick London

You should make it your new tow rig , new cab and maybe a diesel
Replace the top, keep the “Shorty” doors. Definitely a cool project. Not something you see everyday
Finish the top properly with a turboed LS and super singles on the rear
"or is it gonna just sit in our yard forever"?... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Imagine a epoxy bed like the One from the Burn out Video. Somebody HAD NO SKILLS but WE ALL know YOU Do
Your son sounds like he’s been listening to your Mrs to much….
You’ve got to much stuff 😂😂😂
I've got a 71 cab with a nice roof
I see potential. I would definitely make it into a "roadster", ditch the rear end, and 8 lug frontend, shorten the wheelbase, do a rockcrawler style narrowed frontend with junky parts, and then put a set of 33" slicks, skinnys, and some kind of ridiculous motor to just cruise it, be a nuisance and do MASSIVE burnouts😂
Good trailer….I thought you’d be taking two of them dually wheels off.
Super single rear wheel! 425+
I would replace the top on Shorty, everything is well follow accordingly.
Replace the top for sure

😊blazers were essentially converts
Roadster and body drop old school steel 16in dually wheels and some crazy motor combo like a power stroke just to anger people
I am a little less than halfway through so if it is a shop truck cool but that would make a cool shop truck.
fix the cab, install a big block with dual carbs and cruise it.
I'm sure someone in the north up here has a rotted out truck
Put the top back on and maybe an obs dually bed.
Some one did this here in Missouri they chopped a 69 c10 and they also have a 70 f100 they chopped
Make the top safe, keep it ratty, put a nasty 12 valve cummins, and fatt stacks coming threw the tool boxes!
True definition of a hack job
I doubt he will ever crank that 57. It will sit there and rot.
If you can't find a decent cab I say make it a Roadster with the short windscreen. Then the truck can keep its name for a good reason.
Dam he’s sounding like his mum😂
Channel and drop the body lower, take off the roof, fit a windscreen of no more then 3 inches tall, hey presto, world's only C-30 Spyder.

Lose the top and make a nice roadster pickup out of it, minitruck style.
Well, it ain't pretty, but it is solid.
Could be a great project truck.
Run David, RUN 🏃🏻
Good Sunday morning everyone. Thanks David for the video and the wrenching 🛠️🪛🔧🔨🇺🇸 everyone remember through everything we endure good times and troubled times keep Jesus Christ in your life and heart. For he is the answer through it all ✝️💪🙏
Replace the roof, Cummins swap, bag it and 24" Acolas 💯
Finish it dude
Find another top and make it short the proper way. I like it though.
I would put another top on it
Some folks don’t need to own saws all s ! That just sad they had too many beers and bad ideas !
Get rid of the TOPKICK ! Kick it to the junkyard! Topkicks and Kodiaks are too hard to find parts for and aren’t worth owning !
Convertible at this point unless you can source another cab
Idk i get that its ben chopped in a bad way but i really like to short roof line i think id try to make the chop top work
Can give it to me I’d love to have it lol
Big block, put a original bed and top back on and drop it. Be a cool truck.
change the cab out put a flat bed on it lower it and put it to work
Don't take the easy way. Convertible pickups are dumb
😎😎
replace the top in airbags
Fix the top and put a diesel in it,please
Oh no another bad Chad clown car
That is a commodity, Or trade bait.
👍👍
Hot rod
Out of the mouthes of babes!
Replace the top and make it whole again... there's already a replacement in the comments.
2-ton grain truck, farm action you can pick them up clean or cleaner than this one.
People that chop every top are lame. I said it. Not every top needs trimming.
Put a top on it
Just pick up a better cab. Shouldn't be hard to find in Georgia
I'm all for making this a permanent convertible/roadster. It's a shame they messed one cab up. No sense in taking another good cab part to fix this truck. It's just not that nice. Rat Hauler gooseneck set up and call it done.
Dang what a waste so sad
#Make shorty tall agian!
I hope you don't give more than 2500 for that
Replace the top
Man, talk about a terrible hack job, that one is bad. You'd be better off finding a good cab and starting over. That's going to be a lot of work...
It definitely deserves a shot at a new life, but they ruined the cab. Fix the top, C notch the rear end, Cummins diesel it with manual trans and let it eat!!
This era c10 and what have yous never look good chopped. they just look out of balance..
Here's my idear. Get rid of it.
