Gravitas is next on my list of pens to purchase. I am obsessed with the hammer/knick finish. I supported his kickstarter years ago but it wasn't fully funded. I'm impressed with how far he has pushed his dream!
I have this very pen on order, and now I'm even more excited to receive it. I also ordered one of the pocket pens, which does have the single flat edge to prevent rolling. One in olive grey and one in teal grey, as I could not decide between them. Some of those metallic noises make my teeth hurt, but that's OK. I know they come with precise tolerances. Thanks for the review!
I own the pocket pen in that finish. I really like the section. I may have to buy another model at some point (maybe the Sentry once a #8 nib section becomes available).
Thanks for this superb review. The logo is actually the British Ordnance Survey mark found on walls and kerbs stones throughout the country since the 19th century, I think. I use a baize lined pen Tray. So the lack of a roll stop is not an issue for me. I'm naturally clumsy so that ensures mmy pens are safe and exactly where I can find them as my desk gets covered in books and papers. I am waiting for one of these to arrive at the moment. I am curious as to how it will stack up against the similar shaped Lamy Custom and, perhaps unfairly, the Diplomat Excellence. Both of those are favourites for me. I expect this will become a favourite too. The Yovo nib sealed my buyer's fate :) Be well and thank you.
Hi Mick, Tassie, were you born in Tasmania? I kinda support the Brits in the Ashes because I'm a Brit but my parents support Australia. It's going to be a fun Christmas haha :) Anyways, great pen and I certently have this on my radar, Ben does an amazing job with his pens, and he seems to be a really nice guy too. Love supporting people out there producing great work. Chels
1. That's a beautiful pen. Aesthetically, I am totally sold on minimalistic, metal pens. 2. When you call 55€ an entry-level price, I know we live in different worlds. I don't doubt that it is simple and reliable, and that there are more expensive, fancier pens. But I distinctly recall buying my first fountain pen, at $4.50 About $6 was my ceiling.
Interesting review, I'm considering getting one! The cooper looks especially interesting. Was this sent/provided for review, or purchased at retail price?
@@theoffstageme have you thought about also adding when things are provided for review in the description to? i confess i'm often doing a few things at once when watching youtube so it can be easy to miss a single reference to a product being sent for review as opposed to purchased. thanks for the review!

I use these products in my real life and then I pass on my feelings and findings through these videos.
@@theoffstageme oh i appreciate that, Mick, quite a bit -- and to avoid any doubt, I certainly was not suggesting any sort of kickback or comprise to your reviews process! As Stephen Brown talks about I suspect that for many being sent a product for review actually naturally makes one a little more critical.

Another Kiwi ink fan! They're from my state I love them, they do excellent work. I'm waiting on both my Entry and my custom ink right now!
I was sold when I saw how deep the cap posted!
It’s such a big pro!!!
Interesting review. I must look these up.

Width of the pen compared to lamy safari?

Were did you get it for 55 euros, on his it’s listed for 80 euros.
I have the Sentry and it is AMAZING. The body of my pen had a couple of minor blemishes on it, Ben replaced it without question.
Thanks for the video! You mentioned you can change nibs on this pen. Is it a friction fit nib you just pull out, or does it screw out? Thanks!

Actually a very attractive pen with a classic look and what appears to excellent construction.
Do you the grip section better on the entry or the other model?

It’s entry level if you want it to be. Most people can afford this pen.
@@user-md3is4dq2d True. But if you aren't sure you are going to like the fountain pen experience, perhaps you don't want it to be.

Purchased at full retail price. If something is provided for review I always state it in the review.
