The man the legend - Dan @therunningmanc! Haha , what a day! Firstly, I want to thank you personally for being there for me when times got tough 💪! This was a very hard race but spending 15+ miles with you made for light work! It was an absolute pleasure 🙏. I hope our paths cross again in the very near future as we definitely made it special 😀.
Great video Stephen well done!!.. The amount of people shouting ur name was amazing & great you went over the line with Dan...👍🏻Kudos too Grant was that Davy Roberts?... He runs 24/7 that guy.. 😂Well done 🏃🏼🏃🏼🏃🏼x
Thanks so much, Liz 🙏. As always, your support is massively appreciated 👏. Yeah , you know it suddenly hit both of us that time didn't matter. What mattered is that we were there for each other. It really was something special. The endorphins, after this, really reflect those of a pb. Except you know you worked hard as part of a team to get there. It was fantastic 👏. Yeah me Davy and grant all travelled down together. I'll cover more in the recap vlog. Davy runs the fling a week on Sunday!
This is a great video Stephen it really captured what the Manchester Marathon is about, my knee went 9 miles in I wouldn’t have got to the end without that crowd and the other runners, well done mate! 💪🏅🏃♂️❤️
Thank you so much mate! Yeah I'm with you on that one. What a fantastic experience it was to have so many people turn up and shout your name. I've never had that sense of working with someone to get each other over the line. An now I know it's much more of a fantastic experience! Hope your recovery well mate and the knee isn't giving you too much hassle 😉
What a great capture of a fantastic day, that end bit with runningmanc as well, goosebumps! Need to stop having me going at the end of your vlogs! Absoutely magnificent to spend the day with you and well done on a fantastic run mate. Smashed it 💖🔥
Mate.... I had goose bumps editing it 😅. All honesty mate it was my pleasure to spend the day with yous. We all kept each other going. A great little road trip. Really couldn't have worked out any better with the driving etc. Thanks again for all your support mate. It's hugely appreciated 👏.
Thank you so much. Yeah that's exactly it and I think it's taken this race for me to realise that. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 😀 🙏. It really means a lot.
Yessss my man 💪 !! let's Gooo! Your absolutely spot on mate. Everyone looks out for each other it's incredible! Thanks for watching mate.... you going to smash Edinburgh. Good luck 👍
Got goosebumps watching this!! The atmosphere on the day was epic!!! Great video and also everything said is so true, it showed us what a real marathon experience is and not a shiny tictok or reel! It’s a rollercoaster of emotions and also not every marathon goes to plan, but the bond you guys have built with the experience will last a lifetime 🥰 Great to bump into you again, see you next year 😂
It was absolutely epic seeing you again mate. Couldn't have even planned that lol. Yeah your absolutely spot on buddy. Its not some shiny reel or Tik tok , saying you've got this. It's 2 real people really helping each other through the think and thin of a marathon. It really is priceless. I've never known how helpful having someone with you could be, until now. Tha is again for watching and your strong words of support. They really do mean lot mate. Thank you. Haha see you at the next one..... 😉
Great vlog Stephen mate 👍 that Manchester atmosphere really was special. The running community is like no other, forming new friendships means more than any PBs. Big well done on completing another marathon and well done to Dan too 👏
Thank you so much mate and you too for absolutely nailing it! Yeah your exactly right, me and Dan have spoke for years but never really "bumped" into each other. It's mad because when I need it the most he was there and like wise when he needed it most I was there! It's amazing. How ever i seem to miss you mate! Going to have to track your tracker next time! Thanks for watching mate 👍
This is brilliant I crossed the finish almost exactly the same time as you pair. Im in the orange t shirt. I love your video because I had the same view of the finish straight so I can watch it and relive it! Epic event. Well done!
This is epic mate! Congratulations for getting it done ✔️. Same as yourself I loved this even and everything the people of Manchester dome for it. It really was epic! Thanks for watching mate 👍
Absolutely brilliant watch mate. Well done. Gives me an idea of what to expect in August for my first ever half marathon. Can't wait for it now. Well done. ATVB Alan
Thanks so much for that mate! It really was a race that made me realise that's its not all about chasing times. It's the experience and the people that matter. If you can go and enjoy it you'll come away feeling very satisfied also. Yeah mate , you've got this. It will be hard but if you stick to the training you'll be great. If you need any help or that, give me a shout. I could try and give you a few pointers 😁
Thanks mate! Yeah I really like to show the good and the bad. An to show people that's alright if something doesn't go to plan. Absolutely epic mate. Well done. It's an incredible course 🙌
Bromance of Manchester 2024! Well done for forgetting about pace or time's and just having bloody fun. Amazing vlog 🔥 I will definitely be heading there in 2025 after seeing the support throughout the route.
Thank you so much mate 💙. As we said in our messages, this will be us one day 😀. I'm certain of it! Would love to run 1 with you. Still can't believe how this vlog turned out. The day was just as amazing as it seems. It was epic!
@runningwithstephen when I'm back in the saddle you'll know it and we can try schedule something for next year. I have for sure at least one more marathon in me, need to get the moneys worth from my shoes haha
Congratulations to you Stephen and Dan on completing the Manchester Marathon , well done , interesting how you compare the Edinburgh marathon to Manchester regarding the crowds and noise along the course , I hope you celebrated your wonderful achievement with 🍷 and 🎂 cake or even "a wee dram"
Thank you very much, Alan! What a day! Meeting Dan on route really changed my mindset, as you can see from the vlog. We really helped each other over the line massively. I'll do a full recap vlog and explain further, but it shows how much community and support can really help you push through. The comparison was based on support and the route its self. I think even down to finishing were you start is epic. London doesn't even do that. Thanks again for watching mate. I really appreciate the support 🙏
Ah thank you so much! This is hugely appreciated 👏. Yes!! Your spot on , our running community, really is something else! So many people don't even know it exists 😊. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching mate its hugely appreciated 👏. Top support as always 👍. Yeah your spot on mate. The running community is like no other. It really fantastic to be part of it 😀

Thank you mate 👍. Ah that's nice you caught us mate. Yeah from about half way I knew it wasn't happening. Then we helped each other. What a roller coaster. I'll cover all in a recap vlog this week. Thanks for the support as always mate 👍
@@runningwithstephen One of the guys I coach had a similar experience. He'd trained excellently, paced perfectly as we'd discussed in his race strategy for the first half. And then he just didn't feel like he could get his breath properly, so had to slow down and take a few walking breaks. He'd had a cold so it was probably due to the remnants of that. But he learnt a huge amount and finished in a creditable time. As you know, you win or you learn, and some races turn out to be a training run 😁
@NERunner absolutely spot on Simon. Sometimes it's a huge learning curve ie. Training run like you mentioned. Sets you up for a better race the next time. Yeah sounds similar right enough as my hr was sky high at the start and I knew I had to bring it down to make the race sustainable. If I hadn't then I don't know If I'd even have finished.
@@runningwithstephen I'll be in London on Sunday (along with Louise) - my time at Edinburgh was less than 2 mins outside the GFA!!! Thanks mate! It really was something special, I don't know how the rest of the race gad went had I not met him. Really helped ticking off the miles and helping each other through 💪💪
Outstanding! You were looking fresh as a daisy when I was speaking to you in the school. After my last marathon, I wanted a Stannah Stairlift installed into the school 😂
Thanks, mate! I really appreciate you checking it out. Haha, it's seems to get better the more marathons you do. I suppose it's how much you wreck your legs on the day 🤣. We ended up walking/running the last few miles, so it was damage limitation. All in all, though, it was a fantastic day out. I can imagine 🤣. I was very similar, trying to fly home after the London marathon. We had to use steps, up to the plane 🤣🤣
