i have a 1080p epson projector with a basic motorized 106" screen, nothing special and i think i paid $1400 canadian , and i its Awesome ... i have nothing to compare it to so for me it works.
hello. I'm using it with a white screen. I couldn't make the setting I want. Is there a setting you would recommend? I'm asking for color mode and custom settings.
Have you also reviewed the Epson Home Cinema 4010? I have the option to choose between that and the LS300 and have no idea what to choose. Best picture quality for sports is my biggest desire followed by movies. I will not be using either option for gaming. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Epson's projectors tend to quiet down when you dial down the power of the laser. That does lower brightness, but might not be a bad tradeoff for movie watching in a dark room.
Unfortunately using someone else’s calibration settings would do zero benefit to you because you’re lighting in your room is completely different. Look on eBay and get it used super cheap. Either the Disney WOW disk or the Spears and Munsell
I have this projector combined with a Vividstorm ALR floor rising screen. Curious as to what the calibrated settings were for dark room viewing (understanding that YMMV). At a minimum would be great to know which default color setting (ie Cinema, Natural, etc) was used for the final calibrated setting?
For HD SDR Rec 709 content the Natural picture mode is the closest for accuracy, i would also adjust the color temperature from default 7 to 8 and switch off Dymamic contrast and Noise reduction. Also adjust Detail enhancement all the way down to it's lowest setting to 0, sharpness setting leave on default 5. Brightness at 54 and Contrast at 43. Don't adjust the color and tint settings from their default of 50, as to set that accurate you need a Blue only mode and the EH-LS300 doesn't have that setting. Using a color filter to set the color setting isn't an accurate way to set color. Adjust the Light output setting to what you want depending on dark or bright your room is, at 80% it's very bright so if your watching in a dark room you will probably find 50/60% is enough.
My living room has quite a bit of natural light. Would this unit be any good in my living room? Are there any projectors that would work if it gets used during the day?
It’s interesting that they gave you a copyright strike. I know people in the “industry”, and they say you can use up to 17 seconds of a video or audio before you can get into copyright issues. Maybe someone who knows more about me can shed more light on the subject?
The copyright owner gets notified from TH-cam when someone uses any of your content. The copyright owner was a Drone stock video company so they didn’t appreciate me using their video without paying $800-5000 per minute. They offered for me to purchase the 8 sec clip of theirs that I used twice for $150. Instead, I decided to purchase a bunch of clips from Storyblocks for $20 to use for this video and future ones so this does not happen again. Live and learn.
I can tell you now that that’s bs. I don’t know or care who the people in the industry are: they are full of it. The 10 Second myth (that’s how I remember it, i guess it changes according to whim) is just a myth: copyright is copyright.

Yes but you shouldn’t need to mount the screen upside down. The ambient light would still be hitting the screen the same whether your projector is below or above.
I have hooked up projector to my receiver via the optical cable. There is no audio on my surrond speakers. Does any have a similar issue or any setting that i am missing?

Optical output on the ls300 only does 2.0 pcm as stated in the manual so you will never get 5.1 sound from the Optical output. Both the Epson EH-LS300 and EH-LS500 properly display 24/50 and 60hz refresh rates, that was one of the reasons i got the LS300. Unlike most of the DLP UST projectors which display all refresh rates as 60hz.
Totally bought this automatically thinking I could mount this on a ceiling and after doing all of the drywall and 'projector cove' I am now realizing I can't find an option to be able to flip the image. Please tell me there's an option somewhere. Paid a hefty fee for this bad boy

Wow just searched for a price here in Australia could only find the LS500... I wouldn't call them budget friendly @ $14K, that's with a fixed frame 120" screen so thats like $13k!!!
Australia must have a huge mark up for importing. In the US the LS300 is only $2,000 and the LS500 is $4,000 which is considered budget range for projectors compared to the higher end Sony's and JVC's 6,000 and up to tens of thousands. Would love a comparison with an 85" Vizio Quantum X. Since they are the same price accounting for the screen. A good head to head projector vs tv. I have a feeling the PQ of the Vizio would destroy the Epson without too much sacrificed in terms of size in a living room.
Anyone that is looking at an ultra short throw projector will understand that this is budget friendly for that style of projector. This is not the $300 projector you buy at Cosco
Is it 1920x1080 according to the table at 3:10 or 4k according to 3:40?

@@dillonquackenbush3895 Yeah it's all to do with scale of economy's, importers here may buy only a few hundred units whereas it would be many thousands there, thats why our wages are often a lot higher given the same job... and barely nothing is Aussie made any more our political parties have sold our souls to China.
I guess your definition of "budget" is a lot different than mine.
Didn't you list this video already?
It was removed by TH-cam due to copyright so I had to replace the video footage on the screen with purchased royalty free footage.
If only I can have a list of parts to make that stand for the projector/Center channel, it's the one thing you can't buy anywhere.
3 - 36”W x 16”H x 1” thick teak board
3 - 24” threaded rod at 1/2” thickness
Bag of 25 1/2” bolts and washers
Then whatever you want to use for the feet. I found plastic stoppers and that is what I used for this project (Derek) 👋
Ask and you shall receive 😀
Thank you Derek and Youthman, much appreciated!
@@bucfan1993 very clever idea
From the start of the video... he is not too happy with the end results 😅
Gonna have to wait a few years until "budget" in reference to ultra-short throw projectors doesn't mean you're still spending 2K 🤣
Yeah like all electronics, The longer this technology is out, the less expensive it will become
Youth man your the best
Thanks for watching D C.
Reupload? Think I already watched this.
Yes
You did. I received a copyright strike on the previous one and it was taken down.
@@Youthman which part to be exactly? I see no problem
You won’t with the news video. We had a TH-cam video playing on the projection screen that was flagged as copyright violation and the entire video was removed by TH-cam.
I purchased Royalty Free 4K footage to reshoot the video with and will use in future videos when reviewing projectors. Live and you learn.
❗What this is the First time I've seen a projector with a filter I didn't even know that was a thing. Nice video
The input lag is too high. Can't use it for gaming.
Not everybody’s using a projector for gaming
Look at the HiSense L9G if you need 4K@120Hz
@@Youthman Thanks, I'll check it out. 👍
@@Youthman The L9G seems perfect, but I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere, and I'm not sure you can buy it without screen?
deja vu? haha someday i will get a projector setup
It would be extremely difficult for me to go back to a TV. It’s a completely different experience when you have a massive screen.
@@Youthman yeah i could imagine i gotta redo my basment for one maybe do a shed
I love epson super rew
i would only buy this if the screen came included .
Look at the HiSense that I recently reviewed - th-cam.com/video/fLPdNP5JEJU/w-d-xo.html
Get grid of the ceiling fan...all you are doing is blowing the hottest air in the room, down on you. Go traditional long throw projector. Better picture for sure.
Even better the 2nd time haha.
Would love a comparison with an 85" Vizio Quantum X. Since they are the same price accounting for the screen. A good head to head projector vs tv.
I have a feeling the PQ of the Vizio would destroy the Epson without too much sacrificed in terms of size in a living room.
2nd viewing 👍🏻
Thanks Mark.
I wish 1000 dollars was budget for me😭😭😭
It one day can be. It’s all about mindset
"accepting content up to 4K"? The output is only 1080p
LS 500 is the big dogg now
It was likely the big dawg when I reviewed the LS300. It’s just what they sent me for review lol
Budget = $2,000 UST projector + $3,000 ALR screen. Hmm...
(Just get the LSP9T, already. It's worth it!)
Какой прикол в кроссовках по ковру ходить?..
Rewatched :-)
Thanks Steve
How tf is $2k budget
If you are looking at an ultra short though projector, you will quickly realize that this is about as budget as it gets.
@@Youthman touché, was hoping it was gonna be under $1k 🥲
I’m not aware of any ultra short throw projectors that are sub $1,000
3000 is way out of my budget
Lots of budget friendly options out there
budget: 1800$
Budget friendly for Jeff Bezos?
Google Ultra Short Throw projectors and you will find this is definitely one of the more budget friendly options
BUDGET 100" Ultra Short Throw Projector TV lmao seen the price of it
I stand by my statement. I didn’t say this UST will meet everyone’s budget. Look up LGHU85LA and HiSense 100L9G.
Budget €2000 😂😂😂😂😂
Google ultra short throw projectors and you will see indeed this is budget. The LG HU85LA that I reviewed is currently $4,800.
Budget projector for wealthy people
Anyone that is looking at an ultra short throw projector will understand that this is budget friendly for that style of projector.
This is not the $300 projector you buy at Cosco
When $2000 is _budget_ 😅🤦♂️
When comparing to other UST projectors on the market.
