ATL West Parking Deck (Atlanta Airport)

- Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport’s newest on-site parking option is its ATL West parking deck. This deck provides approximately 5,000 covered parking spaces for travelers and Atlanta Airport employees. This parking option is connected to the airport’s domestic terminal via the SkyTrain. This video shows the process of getting to the parking deck and from there to the airport.

Parking at ATL North and South has been such a hassle lately, especially with the lot status site incorrectly updating which areas are open. This alleviates so much of my anxiety around travel for both myself and family. This guide was really helpful, especially the literal walk through!

very helpful video. Seems a bit better than using remote lots but lots of walking which is not the case for the remote lots.
There is a little more walking but it’s convenient if you don’t like waiting on shuttles to get back to your car.

Wow when we’re you driving? Like time of day and day if the week? Because the traffic looks so chill!
It was mid day on a weekend. However it was in June 2021 and air travel still hadn’t ramped back up after COVID. But either way, there usually isn’t a crazy/gridlock amount of traffic in this area of the airport even on a semi-busy day.

Is it accessible for international?
Not directly but you can catch the free ATL international connector shuttle bus from the domestic terminal to the international terminal. It’s located right beside where you exit from the SkyTrain. Just be sure to add on about 20 minutes for the shuttle trip.

Which parking option do you prefer for domestic travel? ATL West, Daily, or Economy?
I personally like ATL west because it’s cheaper all covered on site parking and no matter the weather you won’t get wet.
How does reservations work? If I make a reservation but the lot is full, is my reservation honored?
Although I’ve never made a reservation before parking at ATL West, the reservation site’s faq says “by reserving parking online this will ensure a parking space is available for you at the time and date indicated in your reservation”. Would you recommend this parking option for international flights?
Would I recommend it for an international flight?…sadly, no I would not. The problem is that the SkyTrain from ATL West only goes to the domestic terminal where you would then have to take a 15-20 minute complimentary airport shuttle ride over to the international terminal. If I myself was needing to park for an international flight, I would either use the airports parking reservation system at WWW.MYPARKATL.COM to reserve a spot and the airport’s International Park & Ride or the International Hourly Parking Deck, OR I would use an off-site parking service such at the Parking Spot #1. (Just make sure they do provide shuttle service to the International Terminal because not all off-site lots do.
if you’ve been to this deck recently, do you still find the address to be inaccurate?

I've seen conflicting reports on ATL West parking being temporarily closed vs open. Do you know if it will be open the month of Oct 2022? I tried to reserve a spot online and could not do so. Thank you for any insights you can offer.
According to the ATL airports website (as of when I’m writing this) the parking deck at ATL West is open, however ATL Select and the Lot C - Park & Ride shows as temporarily closed. The website typically updates upon loading and has always seemed accurate to me. Here is the website - www.atl.com/parking/

Can you reserve a spot?

I'm a first time flyer and I happen to be departing from ATL Airport. Everything has changed since my husband was there working, will u help with these questions plz? Atl west is that the deck which is on your video where we should park as we're going to Vegas.
Any of the airport’s on site parking options are good. I like ATL west because it is connected to the airport by the SkyTrain. Despite some of the advantages of homes that parking at the airport one major advantage of offsite parking such as at “The Parking Spot” is that it is much cheaper and they will drop you off right outside of the terminal you’re checking in at. You should check on my channel for a video I did about using the The Parking Spot off-site airport parking. It’s the parking option I most frequently use for Domestic flights out of ATL.

What is the max car height?
According to the signs that were in place when I entered the parking deck, it has a clearance of 8 feet and 2 inches.
