You’re giving your family an education in culture and history that will be part of who they become. You and your partner are doing an excellent job as parents.🌿
Ahhh the art of living life fully in Italy. I know that administrative issues can be mind boggling (and I say this as an ex-resident) but you are surrounded by so much beauty. I love how much the locals are proud of their villages and towns. I think that the occasional tour, after a round of renovation videos is fantastic. I really liked that you left the chatting locals and even the clattering dishes in one spot as the background to this tour. And your parking skill...fearless! Not that you had much choice! And can you believe it?! ... you will have 10k subscribers quite soon! I am very happy for you. Bonne continuation.
I so enjoyed your tour of Pontremoli!! You certainly took me back!! My Parents were both born and raised in Pontremoli and came to the U.S. where they had me and my Brother. As a matter of fact, my Nonna never went back!! I still have family that lives there. Best wishes to you and your family on your renovation...it's going to be wonderful! There is a cafe in the piazza that sells the most amazing pastry called "amor"! Enjoy!
A beautiful tour. Who would leave such a place. And the bells, how exciting. You and your family are so lucky to live where the people are passionate and lovely.
Such a wonderful tour. It's hard to express how marvelous it is to be able to see such rich history and beauty when I know I cannot likely ever go to these places. I TRULY appreciate these videos more than you know. Hug from Judy.....❤
Thank you for showing us around the lovely town and area where you live. It reminds me of the pictures I saw as a child of the countryside where my grandparents came from. And you are correct when you say not much has changed in hundreds of years which keeps it so peaceful. You're working hard for your dream so enjoy your time there and la familia. Ciao!
You should share this to one of the Pontrem FB pages. They'd love to see this from a new member of the Comune. Great vid. Just made me miss it more this year 😔
Hi Raff, Lovely vlog of a beautiful town. The markets and the little streets/alleyways are wonderful. You are very knowledgable about the area and have great historical information to give on the vlogs. Well done Raff, keep up the great vlogs 👍
Thank you for taking the time to film these enchanting villages. I really enjoy your renovation videos, after seeing these snippets of life being lived as the have done for centuries, puts context and purpose for your renovation. Well done.
Every video of this area is so breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you for taking us along to share a bit of the history and beauty. Your channel is a wonderful mix of the restoration of a wonderful building, but you’re also giving the house context. Thank you as always!
Beautiful village, thanks for the tour, 😊 Glad its not me trying to park that car 😬 have u ever thought of showing us some scenery in Austria near where u live, i know its not the aim of your channel but would b nice to see as well.🏔
Thank you. Beautiful town. I had the god fortune to spend 5 weeks in Florence 3 years ago. I loved the food markets and the markets that appeared to sell just about everything under the sun.
What a great tour, thank you for taking us all along. Amazingly complicated and narrow areas where we have seen cars parked. No wonder you choose a small narrow model for getting around!
All I can say is thank you 😊 for all your time showing us your walk about and letting us experience this beautiful town. I am enjoying watching your channel and appreciate you sharing. 👌
Wow! Love the tour, the bridge, the Cathedral is amazing. The food market is my type of thing. Love food. So much charm and the courtyards are wonderful. You have awesome places to go on walks. So much history. P.S Good reverse parking 👏
Nice parking ! Thank you for your boots on the ground tour of Pontremoli. Hopefully my dashed plans of cycling the Via Francigena this year will resume in 2021 and I will be cycling through on my way to Rome. Loved this video!
Thank you for the lovely tour! I have never been to Italy but it is just as I pictured it only better! No wonder you wanted a house there! I am trying to persuade my husband to visit there when we are all free to travel again - maybe next year! Thank you.
Thank you for all of your videos. My wife and I would love to do what you are doing and one day we will :-) We absolutely love watching them, especially the ones touring your area :-) Stay safe and keep posting them !!! Thank you, Chris and Gail (from North Carolina USA)
(Moira Ashton) What a lovely tour, such a pretty place,, thank you for taking us around! Nice to see your little family too ! Yes I am still wondering about the car fitting into the tunnel, and you being able to get out! 🤩😍🥰
I really enjoyed the tour. I could imagine being there. We don’t say bits and bobs in the US. I like hearing those “foreign” expressions. Tight parking spot!
@@pattiwhite9575 No not just a U.K. thing. I am Australian and I have a set of wooden drawers with Bits stenciled on the first And on the second and Bobs on the third. I think it is usually an expression used by older people but both my daughters say it now and then.
Well done Raff on this enjoyable video. Excellent overview of the history and architectural beauty of Pontremoli. This ancient city is certainly a jewel. I tend to side with the historians who believe the stele are of the ancient Etruscans. Maybe even their forebears. But other historians tend not to agree with that theory. Even to this day, stele are discovered in fields and various remote places throughout Lunigiana.
Wonderful tour Raff! Happy that you are not working on the house and enjoying yourself. Thanks so much for showing us Pontremoli. So much history. Loved seeing the church, those old doors and the families picnicking under the trees. Maybe I won't get to Italy this year but your tour helped. Glad the VW fit! Was wondering if you were going to have to climb out. Xo
Thank you for this tour we really enjoyed and appreciate you taking the time to do it ..well done a really beautiful place much more so than I imagined it reminds me of a mini Verona.
What a perfect tour guide you were. It was a beautiful day to show off your area township on foot. Such history. Beautiful old buildings. I would be confused by the doors and arched alleys there. How do you know which are for a home entrance or a business entrance? They seem interchangeable. The churches are not to bad either. Can you fix the master bedroom up in that main churches Baroque style? LOL Is is Baroque or Rococo? The Baroque gilding makes me feel rich. Rococo is usually done up in paler colors like that. Just a fantastic church. I could sit in there for hours. That little valley is so full of splendore. It looks like there have been big flash floods down in that river bed. Amazed at the trail going back up the side of mountain to your home. How unique is that. Not some you see everyday. Did you say the train runs under your home inside the mountain? Wow ok. That is interesting. As always you throw in a little humor. I do appreciate it so. Big man Small car Even smaller garage. Just put some big rubber bumpers on and your good. I must say you are doing such a fine job in these videos. Your focus is good, you know when to go wide or close in, you capture the moments, the place. You draw me in. I always end up watching you videos a couple of times. I learn something or want to know more about something and open google for more information about a subject or open up a map. Thank you and have a wonderful time while you are there.
Can’t wait until Americans can travel to Italy again. Love your entertaining videos. Heart placement always makes me laugh. My Tesla software could have gotten your VW into your parking space without you being in the car. In my small garage as the rear mirrors meet the opening, it pauses then proceeds cautiously.
Delightful tour & great travelogue - thete's a v still quality to your voice that's v calming. The tour of Pontremoli made me yearn for our summer home in Spain which is in a small town of 6,000 with v similar baroque churches & street markets. Unlike you, we can't easily drive there from Worcestershire. But like you, I can also get my GOLF into amazing tight spaces!
You walked right by our house (on via Garibaldi) going from Piazza Repubblica to Porta Parma. In fact, as you panned across from the train to the buildings, you panned right across the back of our house & balconies. That's the closest we're getting to our house this summer! Wishing we were there. Ferragosto is always fun. It's a shame there is no Medievalis this year due to Covid. You should definitely post some video of that (hopefully) next year. For those that don't know, Pontremoli has a Medieval Festival every year that brings >20k people with re-enactments of the granting of the town charter in 1226 and other medieval festivities with beer, wine and food all around. Lots of people dressed up in medieval garb... medievalis.org/gallery/ -- images from past festivals.
Previous owner had a Fiat Topolino, and built the entrance just so it would fit. :D Jokes aside, this is to show how much extra space we need to accommodate our cars, and our modern cities with double carriageways and parking.
Thank you for that beautiful tour. So peaceful to watch on this lazy Sunday afternoon. Tuscany has such a wonderful vibe. On another note......how are the new roof tiles holding up? Did they do the trick? Hope so! Till next time....❤️

I think all of Italy is a canvas of art, scenic towns, wonderful food. Mind you I am Puerto Rican but I love, love Italian everything.
Trust me it has it’s awful parts too
@@ffi1001 i refuse to accept that. Lol😪
