aloha albert, hope you are having a great summer and doing well. if i looked at the specs correctly, the babolat aero team and the prince ripstick 100 are different in balance, swing weight and stiffness. im curious why donna decided to switch. other than to replace a cracked or broken racquet, when or why whould anyone change racquets? 2 years ago, i started using a head graphene xt speed s for no real reason other than to feed balls during lessons. before that i was still using my slazenger panther pro ceramics (jimmy connors). take care albert.

      Aloha Coach Dudley,
Donna was given those Babolat racquets when she started playing. At the time, she knew nothing about racquets. Since the Pure Aero Team is Babolat's spin racquet, I started her off with Prince's spin racquet in the 280-gram model of the Ripstick.
I personally don't like the stiff, head-light specs of the Babolat racquets. And besides, I'm a PRINCE guy . . . LOL!
Since Donna is quite fit and I felt she could swing a heavier racquet, so I had her try the 300-gram model of the Ripstick. She liked the way it played compared to the 280-gram model.
Just for good measure, I had her try the ATS Tour 100 (290-gram model) to see if the lighter weight and a traditional grommeted racquet would work for her.
In the end, she was sold on the Ripstick's feel and weight, and the rest is history! 🤙

Hi Albert - did you find it alright putting a shaped poly like vortex in the cross with a nylon in the main? I usually find that doing that causes the poly to saw through them mains pretty quickly.

      Aloha,
Well, that remains to be seen. Donna is not a string breaker, so I'm sure it will last for 3 months. By then, she would be ready to have her racquets restrung.
Although the Vortex 18 is a hexagonal string, its shape isn't very pronounced. I usually use a thinner cross string for added "pop" and enhanced spin potential. See Stringing Guidelines video - th-cam.com/video/tVh4UXNBl2I/w-d-xo.html
However, if she manages to break her strings within three months, the next step is to use a 17-gauge polyester. 🤙
