This animated assembly manual is beyond helpful. Especially when it gets to the point where you need to be sure in what order things go. I wish there was something like these for everything that needs assembly.
I only had to listen to 3 Star Wars audiobooks while putting this together. I took my time and did it all myself though. No problems. Clear diagram instructions. Did consult video a few times. Thanks for this video.
Excellent video! Thank you! I bought this home gym from a local sporting goods store as I buy local as much as possible. This video actually helped me choose this gym.
Excellent instructions! You will need to play, pause, replay etc. but much better than the written manual that comes with the gym. (As with any assembly) pay attention to the direction things should face when assembling. Take your time with the pulley(s) assembly and they should go smoothly. Much, much easier when you have a helper. I imagine it can be done with one person, but 2 is really ideal.
This video made all the difference as the paper instructions were near impossible to follow when I got to the pulley systems. Some pages were difficult to read (bad print / super tiny font size). Thanks!
Great video. The video appeared right on time when I purchased the Marcy from Costco On-Line (April 2021), you have to be quick when they are listed on-line as they go very quickly . By the way the Marcy has different names such as Marcy Eclipse HG3000, or the name shown in this video MWM-990; the one I got from Costco is MWM-1005. They are all the same and the parts are numbered the same. My advise is to lay down all the parts on a flat surface (I used my garage) with a hand written part number beside each part (if the number is not already visible). I suggest to watch the video for each step twice. The video shows which parts are used for each step; I suggest pause the video when showing the parts numbers and gather them together and basically repeat this for each step. Make sure you do not lose any part as most of them come with no spare with the exception of some washers and nuts. I assembled the unit myself with no help, I am your average non-DIY guy, therefore anyone can do it. My advise is not to rush assembling the unit and instead go slowly making sure you are following what you are watching correctly. I did not use the instruction manual.

I used these instructions to build the Marcy Model # MWM-1005 from Sam's and I believe they are identical or nearly identical. I set the gym up in my garage and took my laptop out there to go step by step. As mentioned by others, I started, paused, rewound and stopped multiple times while going through the step. Especially the procedure to run the cables and add in the pulleys. I would let the video run for a few seconds, pause, do that step and then resume. I did this over and over with multiple parts of the build. The written instructions don't give this amount of detail so I think the video is necessary. I accidentally used 2 allen head bolts where I should have used carriage bolts on the initial base build and did not realized till later. I ended up going to Home Depot and bought 2 extra bolts. Pay attention to the allen and carriage as they are right next to each other in the packaging and are the same size. The number of the bolt printed on the packing was obscured. Thank you for these instructions. They were extremely helpful. PS, just thought of one more thing so came back to add this. It was not exactly clear to me that the long rod that goes into the weight plates would go in BEFORE the last smaller weight plate at the top so I had to back off the last plate, reinsert the rod then place the last smallest plate OVER the rod.

@onewish2270 - Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, we recommend lubricating all the moving parts of your machine before use. For your question specifically, we recommend lubricating the pulley wheel (this way the cable itself does not experience friction on the wheel) and the center of the pulley. Based on most of the absolute horrid instructions I have seen in the past I will grade the hard copy a B but mixed with this video overall an "A". Couple of comments - These holes on part 17 threw me off for ½ hour. They appear to serve no purpose and that should be pointed out in your diagrams. I was looking for a straight rod, old coat hanger to align them up when I watched the video and looked at the documentation thrice and could not see any purpose or callout for them. Since I am good with assembly I can figure out when to tighten things but the instructions for a Gen Z will baffle them as it never says "ok, go back and tighten everything in the last page." When Sliding part 27 on use Baby Powder. On Step 22 its better NOT to connect the end of the cable because when you install the very last pully it's a lot simpler to have the cable loose. I disconnected the cable which gave me plenty of room for the last pully. Simple.
@DRKEGALS - Thank you for reaching out to us. I will send your comments over to our product manager to see if he can implement your suggestions on future manuals. Thank you for supporting Marcy products, have an awesome day!
Im so glad you mentioned part 17 and the holes. I tightened the screws up and noticed the holes and spent ages trying to figure out the orientation... From your comment I am going to proceed with them in any direction! Should definitely be called out as once tight and the stack is on you cannot loosen them to re-align!

Do the cables have to be lubricated before installation?
@onewish2270 - Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes, we recommend lubricating all the moving parts of your machine before use.
For your question specifically, we recommend lubricating the pulley wheel (this way the cable itself does not experience friction on the wheel) and the center of the pulley.
We also recommend lubricating the guide rods which guide the weight plates up and down (over time, they need to be lubricated less and less.)

Is this safe to be directly on hardwood floor or is a mat / rug necessary?
Hello Johnna Fantauzzo - Thank you for reaching out to us. We'd recommend using a mat to avoid scuffing the hardwoord floor. As for the weight, this unit weighs 300lbs, so it should be find, but you can always find out how much your floor is rated for and go from there.

Im on step 11. The butterfly units (Part 9 & 10) will not fit into part #8. It is very tight. I would need something to open up the plates so the butterfly units can slide into part 8. Hi, I’m just about to purchase this model, I was wondering how long it might take for everything to arrive. Also does it come with lubricant? If not where do I buy and is it necessary? Thanks

The instruction manual is horrible at telling what part goes where
