I agree, from the parking lot of the park, this whistle sounded almost identical to a southern 3 chime step top, top lever whistle that was run on the locomotives here a couple of years ago.
What happened to the 3 Chime Whistles video you made? If you make another one, could you add Mount Rainier Scenic #5 recordings (#17 is currently using the whistle and you can find it on TH-cam from 2013, 2014, 2015 and now), Grand Trunk Western #6325 at TrainFestival 2004, and Polson Logging #70.
youre close on the one mile point but not quite..at the point where you said one mile maker you had actually already passsed the sign that says"station 1 mile" a little bit back..but you were close..you dont notice it going up the mountain but the next time youre at dollywood coming down the mountain look for it...great video
That must be a L&N passenger whistle. It sounds way deeper than the 5” L&N freight whistle.
Best whistle Dollywood has ever had

One hell of a whistle!
Beautiful whistle and whistling! I wish they'd let us use a little artistic license with the whistling on our engines at SDC.
I will pay almost anything for this whistle. Oh my God!!
Check rizzoli locomotive works
It is an L&N. Also, the mile markers are only accurate depending on which direction around the loop you go.

That whistle is awesome! To me, it kinda sounds like a mix of 4501's Southern 3 Chime and a Lunkenheimer 3 Chime
It sounds to me like the Princeton 3 chime they used on WP&Y 70 during spring of 2022 and the later half of 2023.
JUST BEAUTIFUL!
haha, the guy that made this video was the one running the locomotive.
Nice whistle!
Is this Tweetsie Railroad or Dollywood?
Dollywood in 2011.
@@JaiahHazelnutBrown Thank you. I figured out after the view from the bridge earlier.

That sounds like a Lunkahemer to me.
