I am in the same mode! I wanna read lots of spooky books but also have TONS of backlog TBR’s from previous months to catch up on as well! 😅 I’m doing my best to try and combine them as much as possible.
I am playing Spookopoly. I love it. I did my first roll and got the square 'present'. I read Everyone on this Train is a Suspect. I finished it today. The Floating Hotel looks interesting. I added it to my tbr. Have fun reading! 🙂💛
I have that same throw blanket but with white ghosties. It's the perfect weight, I love mine. I just finished reading Death at Morning House and Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village - love me some Maureen Johnson. I did roll my first Spookopoly roll and got Pumpkin Carving. I chose The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. I'm also doing the Corn Maize option for the TBR Harvest readathon and my first roll was to choose a book out of your comfort zone. I chose Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood as I'm not much of a contemporary romance reader.
Thank you for always reminding me, why I don't make TBRs :D Also, how have I not heard of Floating Hotel? It just sounds like a Wiebke book. Added to the audible wish list.
Fyi, little thieves is actually a retelling of The Brothers Grimm story the goose girl Also the new t kingfisher book a sorceress calls is also every telling of that same story
I loved Little Thieves, it was so fun ! I already my rolls for Spookoplathon, instead of five books, I ended up with 9 so I decided to extend my Spookoplathon reading to November. The picks were great at least.
when Becca was explaining the board in her video i was like "oh! a rainy day book! that's for Lianne 😂" and then you picked one of MY rainy day books for the prompt 😅😅
The Final Empire was my first roll and I got through it in under a week! My second roll was In The Shadow Of The Wolf Queen, which I got through in 2 days! My third roll is Ice Breaker which will take me longer because it’s the text is tiny and I’m busy today but this is the best book/spookopoly I’ve ever had!
Super invested in the 60% diaries! Inspired by you I am doing my own 60% challenge this year though on a slightly different configuration and let me tell you.. I too am behind 😅
Ooohhh Little Thieves has been on my TBR for a while... That one, Death at Morning House, and Graveyard Shift are the ones I'm most here for. I'm doing the "roll as you go" option for Spookoplathon, and for my first roll it's Leather Face (book centered on family). I know Deborah Harkness didn't work for you but I love the All Souls world and I'll be reading The Black Bird Oracle (Diana and Matthew have to protect their children from being targeted by the Congregation and Diana has to step into a part of her family legacy that centers around her Proctor relatives in Salem.) Also I love Maureen Johnson and will not at all complain if you choose to just binge her backlist this month. It's the perfect time of year for it.
