    Another great tutorial. You place such confidence in my ability, i am actually overwhelmed with pride. I've been cutting my husband's white, thinning hair for about 6 months, and it works out better each time. That crown standing up is my biggest fear! But I've conquered the other problems with practice, and this video really addressed the sides and crown. Again, thank you for your passion, and I am looking into your online classes as well.

    Okay, so I cut my grandsons hair tonight. It turned out really good just using a couple of techniques you showed in this video and another one. The other video was about how to cut curly hair. (Not easy)
    I just had to preface what I'm about to say with the previous statement. This will forever ring in my ears! My over dramatic grandson said when he looked in the mirror and I quote "what have you done!" Lol, trust me his hair looks great! I've cut hair for many years including my own...just never have taken classes.
    Both my grandsons hair look great!
    I cut my eldest grandson hair about three weeks ago. He has African hair...I'll search through your videos to see if you have video's that will help me out with cutting his hair.
    Thanks so much!

    Hi, Michael! Thank you for your tutorials, you make it so easy to understand each and every step. Concerning this very haircut, I'd make the sides a little bit faded/thinner using the open blades. But maybe the client himself asked you leave the thicker sides..

    The video was very informative and I also just enjoy watching haircutting because they always look so much better at the end.😄Can you do one for men with frizzy hair sometime? My son's hair is on the frizzy side so he usually just cuts it short, but I was wondering if there is any way to give him a bit of style as well?

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Lisa, if I get some frizzy hair in I will endeavour to film it.
      In the mean time, I recommend you get him a natural boar bristle brush to brush through his hair once a day. The scalp produces sebaceous oil which conditions the hair, often hair gets frizzy when the sebaceous oil isn't reaching it, the natural boar bristle will drag the oil along the hair shaft.

    Hi there, I’m learning a lot from your videos. Thanks so much! One question - when cutting the top you changed angle and you went more from the middle towards the fringe (at 10:44) - why did you do this?

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I like to go with the flow of the hair especially towards the fringe. It’s not the way to learn as it’s something that creeped into my cutting style. I don’t always do it, but will need to make a video to explain this in better detail.

    • @theoneminutebarber

      I understand that completely, for that type of cut I normally use a number two up to the parietal ridge so that there is something better to support the long hair on top. And then use a number one to blend into the number two.

    Thanks. Your videos are really easy to follow. I've just started cutting my boys' hair. They are aged 3 and 6 years. I find the section above the ears really awkward and the fringe. I feel like there's not much room for the clippers around the ears and the fringe is difficult to get straight. Could you possibly do a little boy's basic haircut. I am using clippers and scissors as in this video. I wonder if it's worth buying a narrow clipper?

    • @theoneminutebarber

    Today I tried the technique of sliding the shears underneath the hair to pull it towards me, as shown in 11:51, but all that happened was that the tip of the shears pulled the customers hair.
    Does the type of shear matter for doing this technique? I was using my Kasho
    Silver Series DLC 6.0" shear that has a convex edge.
    Thank you for the great videos.

      The Kasho shouldn't do that as it's a quality scissor. It's possible there is some play in the blade because the centre screw needs a bit more tension. Or that the scissors weren't closed when you slid them in. The reason for the pulling is that somehow hair is getting into the tip of the scissor.

    What made you not using thinning scissors? Maybe when working on reducing volume and fringe.

      I prefer to reduce the bulk of the fringe by layering it. Thinning scissors can reduce density for sure but can also leave hard lines and what I call ‘poppers’. Short hairs buried in the hair that pop out because they are too short to lay flat.

    What can you suggest for thinning crown and a frizzy front where a tri dye will not grow?

      It’s hard to say, I mean this is the problem with my own hair and I’m on the brink of just crew cutting it. Sometimes when there is no body to it, it’s time to face facts.

    Hi Michael, this video you sent from a 4 then to a #2 then a #1 guard. Did you do a number 3 and not mention it or just go straight from a 4 down to a 2?

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most of the time I would use a #3 in the process. But sometimes when you are cutting you can see that the cut just doesn’t need it.

    Love watching your tutorials, I’m learning to master my cuts and I’m finding my speed is slow; do you have any recommendations on how to speed up ? Do you think a comb size can make difference ?

    • @theoneminutebarber
      @theoneminutebarber  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's totally ok to be slow, I spend 30 to 40 mins on every client. It's better to be slow and get it right, overtime as you perfect everything you'll notice your speed increases

      When it comes to combs I struggle with big combs, you can see the comb I use in my videos, I personally don't tend to use anything bigger
