fun fact, even if you have an incomplete Super Emerald Collection and thus cant go super, having all the chaos emeralds will still allow you to do doomsday

2 things I remember about my first time running this game through is how hard the yellow and blue special stage is to figure out only to finally realise it's incredibly simple and straightforward just with a few slightly tricky jumps and just how long I spent chasing Doomsday zone phase 2 boss dodging rockets and collecting rings waiting for the gauntlet to end only to realise he's like one screen's length away
7:46 My guess is that Tails de-spawned while holding on to that lever earlier in the zone, and when you went back close to it, that happened.

8:02 a hole in the collision hit box. Pressing right pushes you left cos that is how collision works and it put tails on the hanger without cancelling his flight, causing this.
Ps: the key to the special stages is follow the path.

Blue Spheres is the vein of my existence, the MOST annoying special stage out of the classics, I was even more mad when I saw them back in Mania, but I did finish them.

I played the heck out of sonic 3 and knuckles growing up. It got to the point that I was able to have all 7 emeralds by the end of stage 2 in sonic 3... I don't know I ever got that good at these stages. You are right. They can and will drive you insane!

Oh my God. The easiest ones are in the middle. How did you not know that. ...I'm not even gonna guess how you pulled off that glitch near the middle of the video. But to be completely honest, Sandopolis is a lot easier than you made it out to be. People always say that's a hard level, but it's really not.

Actually, you can get doomsday zone if you have hyper sonic OR Super sonic, i think the only difference is hyper sonic is a little more faster
There's no difference aside from hyper sonic giving the good ending

Super Special Stage 2
Is a doozy
First time through, you don’t know if you should turn.
You found out you shouldn’t.
Later, when going for perfect, the problem isn’t the layout.
It’s getting into those central squares and grabbing all the rings quickly before leaving and hopefully the game doesn’t eat your turn and you bounce into a red

I think I nearly killed either myself or a family of 5 before I beat it
Meanwhile I get hyper sonic in mushroom hill act 2 as sonic with 1 big ring to get 50 rings and with knuckles, 3 left

Sega doesn’t care if you modify the game. Sonic 3 AIR is still around and most likely will never be taken down.

It's possible [if you know where the stages are & good enough] to get all the Emeralds before facing the end boss of Mushroom Hill [what I think is unfair is how Knuckles gets 2 [3 in S3&K] stages of his own on a special route only he can do & all Sonic's are available to him on that stage] what I found kind of funny though was the introduction of the new yellow spheres & what they do, plus doomsday is reachable in S&K alone if you get the 7 Chaos Emeralds in that game, plus if you don't get all Super Emeralds but had the 7 Chaos previously in this full game version you go super automatically as you somehow tap into the energy reserves you had, plus you did hard mode for the first part of it & you were supposed to try & avoid the missiles & asteroids, they slow you down, you're acting like a noob in parts
oh thanks! the different between Sonics and Knuckles campaign are so bizarre.
