This bridge in my opinion was improperly built. The bases should have been designed to reflect a hit. Also ships that could damage the bridge should always be escorted. This accident could have been prevented and the ship owner should be held liable and the bridge builder also.
Port Authorities, too - they own the tugs that should’ve been the escorts. And why were they sailing so close to the support structure anyway? Why weren’t they sailing in the center between the structures?
When I found out about this tragedy, I asked how is this possible!? Then I found out who the main members of the ship were. Citizens of India. Everything became clear at once. After working in India for 3 years, I was shocked by the attitude to work and safety of the people of India. I am very sorry for the people who died in this disaster.
Barrier pylons should have been part of the design. To be able to sustain hits from the largest ships traveling the channel. And I don't think that's a requirement, but it should be the standard everywhere. And to be clear, I don't care how much it increases the cost. This costs more.
Born and raised here. Been over that bridge a million times the last 50 years… unbelievable!! Prayers to the families who’s loved ones are still submerged below 😢

I see all that cargo daily in my backyard.....everything on that boat...gets transported by trains...that's crazy the distance it goes....wow...u ever wonder what's on this freight carts?...some have people in em....they have some that r like tiny homes ...
Can anyone else see the slicks from the vehicles? (about @4:45) Clear as day, there's one trailing the DALI, too. I'm assuming they're looking there. I would.
A crew.....on the bridge of 6 guys...night time...I seen a lot of cars driving over it.... God they will come foward...either way...terrible...it broke off so perfectly...no bends or twists of the structure or stress points resulting in a break...just cleanly fell apart...wow...
It's weird...why would ONLY 6 guys be working on a bridge that size.....no detours signs...safety cones...nothing that a normal work maintenance crew would have for legit work..
How the heck do I have a better quality drone than the NTSB? Turns out the quality is bad because FOX 45 just re-uploaded the NTSB's TH-cam video and did a frame rate and resolution conversion without providing a source link...so I will: th-cam.com/video/CwgOHpZlxvc/w-d-xo.html

It has already been reported that the ship lost power and the ability to steer and did send out a Mayday signal declaring an emergency so law enforcement was in the process of shutting down traffic on the bridge
@mattharper588 That's what we do need to figure out. Did someone sabotage the ship before it left the dock? How our enemies would cause some thing like this. Although, the ship itself, has had prior incidents, so... I think we need to be patient and find out what's going on.
Seriously? He’s the one that created the Infrastructure bill/grant that was fought against by the republicans, yet republicans were some of the first to ask for that money.
ok expert, im glad you were there on the ship to know exactly what went down. Why arent you on the news giving interviews since your smarter than everyone else?

It certainly appears the dolphin on the starboard side of the Dali was totally ineffective.

First, it wasn't only six guys. Eight fell in and two were rescued.
There were safety cones set up. They were patching potholes.

This will cost Baltimore billions in lost port revenue...the property tax payers will get screwed in a major way now
5:10 WHERE was similar protection for the bridge? Did the bridge authorities place the protection around the wrong thing by mistake???
Better grow food people
Still have boats and planes but anything can happen so yes I still agree get to learning and growing

Well, not much going on on at 1:00 in the morning. Maybe a few small things. But with something like this…. The small things are not priority.

That thing deliberately hit that bridge.
They have to investigate that possibility for sure.
Looks to me like that ship was steered right into that bridge piling 347

At 4:17 ......where's the roadway? We see some of it sitting on the deck of the ship but what about just beyond the ship? Where did the roadway go?
In the water?
@@i_Made_That Well I see now that some of the roadway was hanging under the arch structure before the collision.
