  • Nick is a regular contributor to the channel and very kindly invited me to fish his local patch. The perfect host he also dug fresh lug worm for the session.
    We set up and I got the chance to use the Bigaloo for the second time, this time around it went up a lot easier and is very simple.
    The weather looked ominous from the start with a hint of wind that was just the start, it was going to get worse.
    The unknown for the session was the weed and the shear amount of it, I enjoyed fishing Shoreham and will return.
    I have recently started using the Fenix HP30 R head torch. A full review will follow soon but here is a link along with other items I use.

      Nice to know there are flounder somewhere in the UK. Our stocks on the south coast are seriously depleted.

      Mark Williams Sea Angling I had reports of a couple of pups being caught last night might need to try a rising tide ...it’s an hour from home minimum for me 😤

    Black Bream can put up a hell of a fight for their size

    This weed problem is way up the west coast, Mersey is choked, heard that the ferries were clogging their cooling filters. Tight lines mate

    • @seaangling
      @seaangling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can imagine that this weed is a nightmare for the river ferries.

  • @markigo858
    @markigo858 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you have bad weed, that's when tapered line (mono) comes into its own on fixed spool. No leader knot. Providing its clean ground as tapered line is expensive. URFE can sometimes help, hardly any components, weed gathers around the lead/small bar and allows you to still fish with hooks below. If its still too bad, move or go home

    • @seaangling
      @seaangling  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark, I like all of those comments and they are very similar to my findings. I tried the Bagnal bar for the first time last night and I found it really impressive. It fished well, stayed tangle free and clear of weed. I’ll be adding that to my fishing from now on when appropriate.

  • @duncanbeck1687
    @duncanbeck1687 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, instead of pulling all the weed off just cut your leader close to the trace and the weed just falls off. Re tie and you’re off again. Saves stacks of time .

    • @seaangling
      @seaangling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wasn’t quite that easy as it was all of the way up the line. Could only reel in a few feet and then had to clear the top eye before reeling in another few feet and so on. It was a bit of a nightmare.

    • @duncanbeck1687
      @duncanbeck1687 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Williams Sea Angling . If the weed was only on the leader then try my approach. If all of your line is covered then you probably made the right decision to call it a day.

    Hey bud.. Nice bream. I'd half the baits and drop size hook to smaller hooks though Maybe size 2 to 4.

    • @seaangling
      @seaangling  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ll have to give that a go next time. I wasn’t targeting bream this time round which is why I was surprised at getting one on a 3/O hook.

    • @kevmanred
      @kevmanred 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seaangling no sorry I mean in general for your fishing. I think smaller hooks will. Catch you more fish. Big hooks will generally catch you big fish but small hooks will get both 👍🏻👍🏻

    • @seaangling
      @seaangling  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can only catch if you have a bait in the water.
      If you have a bait in the water you have a chance of anything.
      That is what I love about shore angling.

      @martinbrowning6266 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark I’ve only been back fishing since April last year but I use 2 flappers 1 up 1 down blow lug black lug king rag red rag and if not catching tipped off with squid or mackerel.In close in between and as far as you can will be trying different baits when I get night fishing 🎣🎣🎣

      Martin Browning sounds like you are doing all the right things and night time is usually more productive.
