Here is my POV experience from "MAPS TO NOWHERE - The Lost Atoll" ---> th-cam.com/video/H-qb0dxj3NA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EkvTE_mWLwMjsRuV Presented by O'Neill & Surfline The shallowest barreling wave I've ever surfed!
I wait for this footage every single year. Me and my pops who's still Rippin at 65 always binge watch this vlog every Christmas Day. Stoked you're back in Hawaii for another Season and I hope you get some good quality time with your family too and have a Merry Christmas 🤙
I smiled for the whole video man 😂 , just so much happiness in one video , the sun weather and surfing You're awesome dude , thanks for this clip dude 😊
Shark pit and windmills in Maui have reefs that are close enough that you can scrape your hand paddling and cut yourself on the reef. Great footage amazing
This reminds me of surfing in Fiji, and also in the Exuma keys of the Bahamas. Many days in the Bahamas the lighting was at just the right angle so that you actually could not see where the wave was while you were up and riding- Crazy crazy crazy situation- I am sure you know what I am describing. Its so weird but sometimes you can not see the wave you are on!
I'd probably have a heart attack surfing there seeing the cheese grator looking reef and blowing the drop ! I'll stick with the 3' onshore slop at my local beachbreak ... although it looked pretty epic !😮😮😮
What a perfect lil left ... It looks so similar to that fast lil left Jaime O'Brien surfed a couple months back ... So sick as a goofy footer this is heaven
That was epic, and you were just the man for that job right there. Representin the Banks mighty well as always. I swear, you must have been within an inch or two of catching a fin on that first wave after the cut back. Got no choice but to trust it and go in that situation
Same here bud. Lived off Sea Isle Hill Dr for 4 years and then Runboat in Frisco for 3 years. As a little kid I grew up between Virginia Beach and Kitty hawk and Manteo And much of my family still live in those areas down there today. But I now live in VB but still have my family home down in the OBX and spend quite a bit of time each year down there. I always miss it when I'm gone. We just need them to open up a FedEx ground or UPS route down there and I'm coming back baby🤣🙏 Merry Christmas to you brother And they you and your family have great health, plenty of happiness and prosperity coming into the new year.🤙
Good to see Hatteras guy in a far away land ripping. In the early 90s growing up we didn’t have the opportunity as much to get noticed . Sick footage ready for some Hatteras swell .Did you ever fall and be like wow that was close . That looks sharp
Oh I hit bottom hard 2-3 times but never drew too much blood… every single one of us went home with scars though. If you fell you hit, it was that shallow
I didn't remember any of these clips being in the series really appreciate you sharing these beautiful clips my friend Be well and God Bless You and Yours 👍🤙
Brett you're crazy guy. I mean that in a good way. So I was wearing polarized surfing sunglasses. And a similar thing happen on a very clear day the water almost disappeared. Did you use a polarized filter? This was a wonderful feeling and it was shallow that day too. not crazy like you though. Incredible I recommend the glasses. Except I actually could not see where the wave was. I had to throw spray to figure out where the bottom was.
cool fish in wave at 3.57. looks super fun. I surfed super sucks this year. was similar but 10 times longer. unfortunately the barrel length fucked me up. this looks good tho. shallow isn't bad. reef is good. thanks for sharing something magical.
Reminds me of the many barrels on dry reef sessions at Alligators, and other north shore Oahu breaks as a kid. Where the payoff was almost always worth the wana sticks and reef rash 😂
That had to be a great trip with the boys. But that's just freaking nuts man. That is literally skimming The Reef. I think I saw an octopus flipping you off. RLTW 3/75
@@xjum2368 in some spots it was a little deeper… but most of the top section of the wave was quite literally breaking in 1’ of water over the coral heads.

Absolutely gorgeous, thank you
Unbelievably sweet. That water.......
@3:52 - that's a poster right there Brett - beautiful
I'm feeling bahamas
Absolutely epic
Ive only surfed NY beaches this looks like the ultimate surfing experience
Wow! This makes me just love NC’s cold water waves even more….. says me never.
Its like diving and seeing the reef but just getting barreled
Insane Brett haven’t seen any of your latest videos ,this looks so sketchy but you make it look pretty easy ,also you’re still stoked !
Thank you Brett ...keep them coming.....
Beautiful clear, clean water!
Paradise.
Wtf man that's unreal, soooo shallow🤯🤯🤯
Know exactly where this is, wish I was good enough to surf it
absolutely mental
This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Wow mesmerizing water shots
I can see why there’s no one out. Such a sweet wave. Go Brett!
Awesome work and joy. With a person in the water filming above and below the water; the footage would've been amazing.
there were... it was in Surfline's "Maps To Nowhere" Ep. 1 released spring of last year. check it out
Wow thats perfect
Beautiful water!!!
Wild 😍
A perfect surf. Looks like a dream
Unreal !!

Sick crystal water!! Thanks for sharing 🎉🎉
crazy footage
Dang epic glassy barrels!!!Were there a lot of sea urchins as well?? Love the content man!! Aloha
Awesome. Can someone tell me where that is?
Unreal! What settings do you use on the GoPro? Super view, 4k?
Shot with GoPro MAX 360 cam. Lot of editing to get the shots to look right and not all warped.
Awesome!!
this is what people who dont surf never see.....in tropics the reef going up thru the wave, pretty incredible
cool fish in wave at 3.57. looks super fun. I surfed super sucks this year. was similar but 10 times longer. unfortunately the barrel length fucked me up. this looks good tho. shallow isn't bad. reef is good. thanks for sharing something magical.
ya you can see the photographers swim through the wave too on one of em
Awesome, pov is the future
Chills! You can see that angry coral trying to poke out of the water and snack on your flesh.
Beautiful barrels!!
peace sign claim was exquisite.
Wow that’s a fin nipper ! Looks like Caribbean.
it's so perfect that looks like a videogame.. where is this place? Maldive?
This guy paddled from up river to that break!
That’s how we do it in the maldives as well. Reef breaks are amazing . And thrilling
HOLY CRAP UR AMAZING 🤩 😮❤
Sick!!
Veautyful... crazy
Was that a black tip reef shark?
looks like a dream brah
The camera may be deceiving my eyes but I'm curious how far from where you paddled out was the surf?
What Go Pro you using? This looks awsome
the Max 360 cam from GoPro
Are there any similar places in the world like this with beach breaks?
Pure perfection
Its recorded with the gopro MAX?????
Reminds me of the many barrels on dry reef sessions at Alligators, and other north shore Oahu breaks as a kid. Where the payoff was almost always worth the wana sticks and reef rash 😂
Tremendo!
Crazy thing is its probably shallower than it looks, i know i would end up mince meat from the take off 🤣, Brett makes it look to easy 👌
That had to be a great trip with the boys. But that's just freaking nuts man. That is literally skimming The Reef. I think I saw an octopus flipping you off. RLTW 3/75
So sick
Epic POV footage! That reef definitiely looked scary! Do you use the max lens on your gopro?
This was shot with the GoPro MAX 360 camera.
Even though I hate to surf backside..I would kill to surf there ! WHERE IS IT PLEEEEEEASE ?
Damn that’s shallow 😮🤙🏼
That's a fair bit more than 1' but great video, amazing even
@@xjum2368 in some spots it was a little deeper… but most of the top section of the wave was quite literally breaking in 1’ of water over the coral heads.
