Going to Chiang Mai in December and your videos are a goldmine of info! 🎉
Thanks for watching and enjoy your trip here!!! 😊 🇹🇭 🙏🏻
Thank you for your inspiring videos. Looking forward to come to Chiang Mai over Christmas!
The world is small maybe we see you somewhere. Greetings from Switzerland. Ch+ St
Thank you! We really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video Tony!!! I'm 58, and I was thinking while you were walking along, "what if I need to use the restroom while I'm walking for hours around the old city?" Thank you for the great videos!
Great question I’m also in my 50s and type 2 diabetes and need to use them regularly 😬
@@huggiesjourneys7318 I hear you. Tony's videos and his tips are very helpful. Hope he will share some of the simple stuff most take for granted like 'how to find the public restroom', 'what do you do if you get injured or witness an emergency', etc.
I’m heading to Chiang Mai at the end of April so I guess I’ll soon find out 🤣
@@huggiesjourneys7318 awesome! I'm unable to move until toward the end of this year, but I should be there by August I hope. Have a great time!
There are bathrooms but it does help to know where they are. Do know that you will see them called WC, toilet, just a diagram of as toilet and toilet in Thai.
Rename Thapae gate “Pigeon Gate” for starters..there hain’t nuthin’ you can’t get in CM, even some of the farang food is pretty good (Dukes is popular for a deviation from Thai food) …ad infinitum, CM has it all 👏👏👏🙏🏻
Thank u. Great video.
Glad you liked it!
Well done, Tony. Thank you for the video 🙏🏻.
Glad you enjoyed it
So true! My day walks, and my night walks are so different here. Sometimes I’m surprised when I walk in the evening just how vibrant the street is lol!
Well done video💪❤. Thank you ! 🙏
Glad you liked it!
Love these vids. I’m going on 58 and I am drooling about retiring in Thailand. But unfortunately it won’t come to fruition. I am married and have kids. My wife will never agree, and my youngest is only 16 so my commitment is too strong for him now. I feel like too many years will pass before I can even make Thailand actually happen.
what a great video! So appreciate you cutting to the Map as often as you did. Would love to see other walking tours of specific areas outside of old town. Like the sub-districts.
Tq man ❤
QUESTION: Do the fruit markets there sell "red grapes" and/or "red grapefruit" ⁉ Trying to prepare for my adjustment to Thai life and those fruits are a staple in my breakfast. 😊
I have seen red grapes at most fruit stands. They have pomelo similar to grapefruit
I've been here for a month and seen those everywhere. All the same stuff we are used to plus some stuff we aren't.
@@maggieadams7000 Mega-thanks Maggie 🙏
@@maggieadams7000 Pomelo looks similar, but a bit larger and not sour.
Hi there love your channel and was wondering I’m traveling to Chiang Mai at the end of April for 10 days will I need to take malaria pills? Thanks in advance and thank you for the fantastic videos
Cheers

I have been here for almost three years without them. Don't know anyone that takes them.
Perhaps the first time I have heard a Westerner pronounce the Tha Pae Gate's name correctly! For your viewers Tha Pae means at the raft, Pae means raft. The original Tha Pae Gate was closer to the river at the Kampang Din (dirt wall) road intersection, and closer to where the rafts were located. Kampang Din was the original Eastern wall, and all the city walls were in different locations than they now are. Kampang Din is the only original city wall that somewhat exists.
have you taken Thai motorbike certificate? I'm interested in how you take it and how much it cost if you have done a video about it I'd like to watch it
Yes, I took the class at KW driving school in Chiang Mai.
We were just there during Christmas time. We loved our little hotel called the Udee Cozy Hotel on the southwest side of the Old City. We were able to walk to the Saturday night market and see the Silver Temple all lit up at night.
Hi, we're really confused when we should come to Thailand. Hoping to travel Bangkok, Chiang Mai then Koh Samui. I've wanted your videos about the weather. But am struggling to decide. We're thinking possibly November but we're concerned about the rain. Would June or July be better? Thank you for your help.
You want November or December
@@TheNarrowGate thank you, I appreciate your help.
@@TheNarrowGate could I double check if you'd still recommend November for Koh Samui? We keep reading it's very very rainy then. Thank you
Wow...I'm really surprised at how many foreigners are everywhere.

@@TheNarrowGate I'll be there in about 10 days coming from UK. 👍
Longest 10 days of your life. ;)
@@TheNarrowGate 😂 Absolutely!! Actually it's 7 days. But still.. Too long!
Thank you. ❤❤❤
This video is insanely useful. We are newcomers to Chiang Mai and I can't tell you how useful this video is! 👍👍👍
Thank you!
Places to avoid 😂
Great video. thanks Tony.
Thank you!!! 🙏🏻😊🇹🇭
