Thanks for sharing your house rules! I like your ability score check method (14:55). If others are curious, here are the most likely outcomes for each Action Difficulty based on their normal curves of probability. Easy [3d6]: 10,11 (each 12.5%) Medium [4d6]: 14 (11.3%) Challenging [5d6]: 17,18 (each 10.3%) Difficult [6d6]: 21 (9.3%) Impossible [10d6]: 35 (7.3%) Here are the probibilities of success where the ability score is 18. Easy [3d6]: 100% Medium [4d6]: 90.3% Challenging [5d6]: 60% Difficult [6d6]: 27.9% Impossible [10d6]: 0.1% I wonder if the Impossible difficulty is not so useful. Maybe cap it at Very Difficult using 7d6? That gives the most likely outcomes being 24 and 25 (each 8.6%) and a likelihood of success for an 18 ability score being 9.4%
@@Classic_DM On second thought... the Impossible difficulty can be there for that special gaming moment when only divine intervention can save the day for an extraordinary hero.
AT LONG LAST!
