- We're talking about how to invest in Pag-IBIG MP2 for students, OFWs, and beginners in 2020! It's one of the easiest, safest, yet underrated forms of investments that everyone should know about.
In this video, we'll be talking about what regular Pag-IBIG savings program is, what the Pag-IBIG Modified Savings Program (MP2), why you should consider investing in MP2, whether you should invest in mp2 now, and how you can start investing in pag-ibig MP2, as well as my experience in applying for a pag-ibig membership as well as opening my first MP2 account.
To start investing in Pag-IBIG MP2 in 2021, you'll first need to be an active regular pag-IBIG member who has made at least one contribution in the last 6 months. All employed Filipinos are required to become Pag-IBIG members. For those who are students, OFWs, fresh graduates, unemployed, or self-employed, it's easy to register as a voluntary Pag-IBIG member by applying at one of their physical branches or even online! Opening an MP2 account is also a fast and easy process that you can do online.
Of course, Pag-IBIG MP2 is not the perfect investment for everyone. Like I always say in my videos, it's important to first assess your own financial goals before making any financial decisions.

Dividend computation for your earnings works like how bank computes your interest income. It’s based on ADB (average daily balance) x dividend rate for the year. Simple example if you made one time lumpsum of 10K on Jan 1, at 7% dividend rate, you’ll get dividend income of P700 for that year. Versus if you save P1,000 monthly or P12k for the year, you’ll get about P456 at 7% rate. Bigger interest for one time lumpsum vs gradual monthly. But saving is saving, the more you put in, the more the dividends. :)
for compounded savings option, it's just the compound interest formula

I started my MP2 account last year. 1000 is deducted from my monthly salary aside from the 2100 as my regular PagIbig contribution (100 came from the company I'm working). It's a nice investment and a great way to save up money and prepare for your future (or when you retire from work).

Great video! I opened mine pre-covid through Pag-IBIG office in Cebu. Just to add, u can withdraw even before it reaches 5 years but the dividends will be cut by 50%. I also made a similar video about MP2 and Virtual Pag-IBIG weeks ago. Cheers!

Great info! On the "matching of the employer" part, I've increased my monthly contributions years prior but the employer counterpart remained pegged at P100.00. So, yeah free money, but not more than the P100.00/month employer counterpart thus far. Has any employer really actually matched more than the P100 monthly minimum? /curious
