I've always loved the YM42 and have considered the white gold version. I would have had to sell a few other watches to justify it, so seeing this option is very appealing. I do wish it had the deep black dial instead of the more matte dial that it seems to have.
@Maria CANCER 1st off what does that have to do with this watch video. 2nd of all get a life and stop trying to scam people. You’ve got to give it to Rolex. Hans Wildorf’s marketing genius continues to echo through the company. Putting a stealthy prototype on Sir Ben Ainslie’s wrist = genius. Watch sites have talked about this for the last couple of years as a result. Think this could be a classic. But also another Rolex I will have no opportunity to buy however 😁

I think it's a good move for Rolex to drive some interest in the overlooked Yachtmaster line. I have to say I really don't understand all the love of titanium for watch cases but give the customer what they want.
@@ronniep9272 Every Rolex has been hard to get for years at the AD's. That's what happens when there too much cash chasing too few goods, it doesn't negate the fact that it hasn't been in high demand model.
@@512bb Rolex makes their products scarce on purpose. Their watches are made by machines not artisanal (hand made), they make a million watches per year. So it's not because they don't have enough product to meet the demand, they make it scarce on purpose. To inflate the prices, specially in the Grey market. An average person can't get a watch and needs to be in a 5+ year wait list, but if you're a celebrity you'll be completely differently
The Yachtmaster is supposed to be the more elegant sports watch, with precious metals and the curved case shape. Using a dull looking material like titanium and changing the case shape to look more like the Sub misses the whole point. Seems like a Titanium Sub would have made more sense.
Why doesn't this have Glidelock? Perhaps it's too difficult to make a long lasting glide-lock in RLX Titanium? If you google images of "Sir Ben Ainslie Rolex" he wears his over a sailing jacket sleeve. The glidelock would allow this easily. All of Tudor's watches have the T-Fit, but Rolex are very stubborn. Oh well, luckily I have my Submariner Date (2022).

As nice as this is.. if your wanting a titanium sports watch let’s not forget the Tudor Pelagos 39 is £10,000 GBP cheaper and arguably just as good for 99% of the general population. That’s hard to look past.. Thoughts?
White gold version looks so much better, especially on a rubber bracelet. I'd get it if I was a fan of being mugged. Coz even my 40 buck Chinese copy was stolen.
This will make for a great tool watch, but a horrible desk diver... which is quite the opposite to the norm for the crown. I say horrible because look at that metal - so grey, so dull, so lifeless. Not even studio lighting can fix that. But it is "tool-tastic", so well done Rolex.
depends on the grade of titanium being used. Grade 2 (like the pelagos) is dull. Grade 5 alloy (like you see on Grand Seiko's) can be polished to a mirror shine, resists scratches better than stainless steel. I wonder what grade this watch is from Rolex. You would think they would use grade 5, but I'm surprised they didn't polish the sides if it were.
Absolute Rubbish. Decades of tradition and perseverance thrown into water. First with ceramic bezel, super case, now transparent case back and titanium. What next? Carbon fiber and skeleton?
On my wrist the Omega 2232 SMP300 full titanium sword hands. 300 meters. Paid 2.5K ten years ago. No interest in this laughable overpriced Rolex fashion watch, barely more water resistant than a Swatch.
For the price difference, not sure why you wouldn't get a Sub that's cheaper and made of higher quality materials. Unless you really want the softer/lighter Ti and the more muted dial/bezel.

Small correction: Due to the bezel ring being able to turn both clockwise and counter clockwise, this is -not- a dive watch.
