This is amazing. Yes, she understood Kim and could repeat the energy she felt with Kim while on that unusual beach. I love that this is for once a truly contemporary portrait. Samira also showed her courage painting in this fashion. I guess courage and determination connected the artist and her Muse perfectly. It depicts freedom. My favorite until now. I'm an artist and I know the courage you need in the world of art as a woman.
I absolutely love this. She caught her likeness without all the intricate details of "realism". I love the way a painting like this has the view engage more by not giving them every bit of information. Kim says, "less representing and more being", and I think this painting evokes that. Great job, Samira!
That's one of the reasons she left SITC movies and the revamp of the TV series. Cuz SJP refused to let Samantha's character evolve more into who Kim Cattrall is as a refined 50+ year old woman (and character). Meaning Sam would mellow out more in her 50s (like most women do) and not be naked or always having/eluding to sex in her scenes. Kim Cattrall was truly typecast by her character in SITC (and Porky's) lending to why so many people think she's her SITC character in real life. Kim Cattrall is no more Sam in real life (or that we know) than Matt Damon is Jason Bourne in real life. Check her out in previous episodes of The Graham Norton show...
I’m struck by how it has managed to capture the realness and essence of Cantrell. It has the cool air surrounding and whipping her hair and the warmth of her eyes holding a confident gaze as if to say “this cold can’t hold me back”. I’m so glad to have watched this and experience the amazing reveal. Addo is a next-level artist for sure. ❤
“Less representing and more being.” Yes! It’s fabulous and I believe it was born out of the time they spent together. I think Kim embraced Samira, and it put her at ease, which was very wise, but also who she really is.
Congratulations Samira! You captured Kim's essence in a Cezanne kind of way...He was once criticized for his avant garde Impresionist style, and inspired many artists of his time...and look at his work now! Continued success!
I think this was her best yet. She really captured the essence of an amazing, strong, confident woman, but also I think Samira also brought out a more private side of Kim that most people probably don't see. Definately my favorite of hers by far. Well done!
Kim is such a beautiful, deep, inspirational woman. So well spoken and such an interesting soul. Samira had a wonderful subject to paint. It must have been so hard to paint Kim, there are so many layers to her personality. I haven’t seen the final painting yet, I just felt I needed to comment about this incredible woman. Edit: oh wow! She caught Kim beautifully. The indigo, just perfect and yes, the freedom in Kim’s face is so tactile, just beautiful. Well done Samira. 🙏🏻
I loved this video. More than the beautiful portrait that was the end result, it gave us the building of a friendship, the thought processes and development of two different artists, and ❤an exploration of Liverpool. It was a lovely bit of magic. Thank you so much.
I clicked on this by mistake...what a great find! Truly Fantastic. Kim, by goodness, or should I say Cleopatra. Love the way this was filmed. I cried. What a beautiful painting.
I absolutely adore this project. I've just started painting during the pandemic, and it's pure joy. Your programs are so enthusiastic for so many. Samira is a very smart painter.. Kim is a great choice to paint. I love how their relationship unfolds beautifully. Much like the painting.. Brilliant. Thank you so very much. 🌟
so silly of me because i have absolutely no connection to either of these beautiful women, but i cried like a baby when the portrait was revealed. how lovely. the life, joy, strength, confidence this painting exudes is just gushing from it. well done!
How? How does she do it? This is talent I really admire. She sees in a different way that bogies the mind. I hope to follow her career. She's still young!
💖🖌️✨ And what a great place for the painting! There are so many lovely artists with wonderful and transcendent energy that moved me and they could all be called winners but I love Samira’s painting. It’s unexpected, authentic and distinctive and I hope to see more of her work. She captured something of Kim’s spirit and more than a likeness. I think Liverpool should be proud of the three ladies represented on that wall. And the judges too. 💖
I love this portrait so much! That energy! The fact that is neither abstract or realist…and how it captures all the essentials of Kim….it’s so beautiful! She has an amazing style 😊
Every episode of this series is exciting ,the beginning when you meet the artist then subjects ,and for me ,watching the creative process flow so differently from each artist is wonderful. The hosts are lovely and the three judges charming ,each with their own personality ! And the art produced is extraordinary in most cases. Just a joy to watch ,truly !
Kim Katral as ghost! I would have liked a little more of her inner and outer beauty in this supposedly great portrait. Intriguing for sure, new perhaps, modern definitely, but great I don't think so!
Cool painting. You can sort of tell it's Kim. I don't think it suits hanging in the realistic oil master portrait section of the gallery, the style and coloring look out of place. It would probably fit better in the abstract section.
imagine a collaboration between Samira and Christian Hook. Kim's final line captures the essence of Samira's work; it's why Tai and others become emotional - "less representing and more being"
that's good; i am not a fan of this contemporary approaches to portraiture (seen so many) but this one is indeed good. Love the red spot, really brings the composition together.
A lot of people whined Hetty was the better choice, but I thought her portrait was a bit overworked. Same with the guy. Sometimes who you want to win isn’t the best fit. Samira was honestly the best choice for Kim Catrall.
You should not criticize another artist's work, just because her style is different than Samira's. Samira won because the judges prefer her style of painting. What if she competed against someone with the same painting style? I like Samira and she is an amazing artist, but let's not compare apples with oranges and decide that one or the other is no good.
@@DreambigGabrielathere is a reason why overworking destroys a painting; it make the colors look flat and lifeless. People need to know when to stop. Both overworked their portraits and this cost them the opportunity to work with Kim Catrall. Even the judges realized this.
@@elyseenger-fq8ye For a moment I thought you were somehow qualified to judge a painting, but I realized that is not the case. What told me that? The fact that you consider the other two paintings "overworked". What I'm trying to tell you is that the other two people paint realistically, while Samira prefers abstract. That's all there is to it.
Its possible my comment appeared on an incorrect display? Not certain so here is a repeat. Great work Samira! Contemporary & with so few brush strokes did an excellent piece. Samira would make a wonderful muse for an artist. I'm an artist myself & would enjoy painting a portrait of Samira.

cleopatras speech was magic😍

What a triumph, and what a lovely and very special artist. Her portrait reduced me to tears of admiration.
I was amazed by the gentle personality of Miss Cattrall. Thanks for posting this episode.
Right? I don't know what I expected from her, but she seems so lovely.

@@tiwantiwaabibiman2603 I'd only known her from Police Academy, so I too had typecast her, which I feel bad about now.
...a Canadian's Canadian
I loved the 17 yr old red haired finalist
What was her name ? I really liked her work too!
I love the portrait. It caught the essence of Kim and her likeness in a humanistic real sense.
Yes, but it looks unfinished
Lovely economical brushwork to achieve a worthy winning portrait. Well done Sumira
Well done Samara!! It’s truly Kim in such a beautiful way!!

This was an amazing finale! Congrats to Samira! Her rendition of Kim is very moving, full of energy, subtle and exquisite!
❤sooo lovely the portrait of Kim... and she was delightful, spontaneous and strong. ❤well done Samira. We loved it❤
The final piece is amazing.
You are so right. Love it
Samira captured her likeness in a Cezanne kind of way...What a talent she possess! Congratulations...❤🎉Your work is in great conpany....
Loved the painting. She was my favourite since the beginning .
Complete out of the box portraits ❤
My favorite part is Catrall's response to the reveal. Absolutely lovely.
“Less representing and more being.” Yes! It’s fabulous and I believe it was born out of the time they spent together. I think Kim embraced Samira, and it put her at ease, which was very wise, but also who she really is.
What I see is that quality Kim has for looking for and breathing in life.
Brilliant portrait of a brilliant woman
she captured kim on so many levels. Captivating, insightful, moving, energizing.
What an amazing painting Samira did . She really caught Kim's essence.

The tandem of Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell is priceless❤
Indeed!
I just adore them. ❤
An amazing episode. Fabulous portrait. Fabulous acting, I loved it all.
t e a r zzzzz the wildness, the intelligence that Kim inspired - Samira captures Love ... the unconditional kind.
Stunning. I actually teared up when I saw it. Grew up watching her in the 80's. How beautiful.
great painting, Kims personality really shines through. it’s impressionism of the soul 🎨
Her technique is amazing, I love that mix of abstract and realism.
She's brilliant and I wish her the best.
I enjoy it much more, when I totally squint my eyes.
Love it!!!! Well done, Samira, great job.
I love this portrait ❤beautiful likeness abstract and realistic ❤
Amazing artist and a great actress S.Cattrall! Both new discoveries! Thx for publishing this film:)
Wonderful older episode! Fantastic winner and wonderful final painting of Kim !
I was really moved by Kim’s soliloquy. And the portrait was equally moving and captures Kim’s free spirit on the ocean winds

Samira talented & contemporary. Great work! As an artist myself, I thought Samira would make a wonderful muse
WOW that piece is sort of iconic, like a Marilyn or something with the feeling of a Warhol and the blue is exceptional.
Uma grande pintora, seu estilo é marcante...obrigado 😊

a portrait of Samira.
Very wonderful work. Wish it wasn't on the thumbnail. A bit deflating for the big reveal.
Inspiring.
Thank you!
Beautiful work!
Her subject is beautiful she did a great job. Shows how loose a person can be in a painting.
Really magnificent
Simply amazing!!!
LOVE..great painting
Nailed it❤
My artists of the year are different. I wouldn't even recognize Kim from that painting
Samirah is great . Hetti is great and more straightforward. They are all great, remember art is subjective ❤
Love Hetti!
OMG, this portrait of Kim look just like me...I am shocked!
This portrait is a masterpiece
Exquisite!
It’s art, a different Samantha , more than a sex object like in sex n city, dreamy and meditative. Congratulations to Samira.
Merci 😊🙏
I used to climb all over that Peter Pan statue when I was a kid too ,The “foot holds “were highly polished with thousands of feet climbing over it
Soooooo thrilling
exciting artist
I love it❤
^nothin amature on her side..
awesome talent.
