I have been watching the series of videos on your lathe CNC conversion. Interesting videos even though I do not get into metal working. I still learn something on what other folks are doing. However, I will say that you have been blessed by our creator to have developed so many neat skills whether it is turning wood or machining metals. This now begs the question on “ what can you NOT do?” I am amazed over what you pass on in your videos to those of us who are just starting out on various projects. Keep the videos coming!! Thanks for your time and videos.
Love your videos , you have truly been a great educator , in my machine learning. So I could think of no one better to ask this question. I have a mini mill that Im converting to a cnc mill, similar to your sieg x2, I Have the version that the column adjust 45 degrees in either direction, what are your thoughts on turning that into a 4th axis, Do you see any issues that could arise ? Thanks in advance , If anyone else would like to chime in , it would be greatly appreciated .

Hi, this conversion will be a design of mine, I will be videoing every step. Thank you, for watching, Please like, subscribe and forward the video on to a friend, Australian Inventor Roger Clyde Webb ;
I swear that when i did the 3ph belt drive conversion on my C2 that there was some person in China laughing their head off because the bugger had designed everything so as to make changing anything almost impossible ! I won in the end though!
Just make a mounting bracket at the back of the topslide for the ballnut , the screw seems plenty long enough ,dont mount it to the side it may cause problems later
did you spend much time fettling this machine prior to this video? there are a number of youtubers that have done series showing that quite a lot of work needs to be done on these little lathes to make them perform properly. if yours was good, "out of the box", would you let us know the vendor? you've said Sieg, but according to the machine's nameplate, it's not Sieg branded.
@@rogerwebb9600 Keep up the good work, Roger, educational, very useful, although I have Leblond Dual Drive 15 x 30 :) I am subscribed, for several months. Got no friends who do machining. Thanks for responding. Now get that smaller ballscrew on order :)
The Mr rogers of the machine shop. Its a beautiful day to be your neighbor. Thank you
