If you really informed yourself about dimethicone is a beneficial silicone for the hair not a bad one… if you study cosmetology you will learn that beauty can be clean with silicones in it, they give many benefits to the hair and at a point in life the hair will require them if you avoid them! I’m a professional hairdresser that works with clean brand that use silicones
Thank you so much for watching the video and appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion. I do know that there are water soluble and non water soluble silicones. The ones that are water soluble can certainly be beneficial and can be "washed off" with sulphate shampoos. I personally avoid silicones because 1) I don't like how my hair feels after using them long term 2) I don't want to risk using "some" silicones to gain potential benefits (e.g. easier detangling) if there are other ingredients that will help me reap the exact same benefits. I hope this clarifies it better; we are all on our own hair journeys and what works for one person may not work for another.
Silicone isn't a toxic chemical. In fact, it's completely safe to apply to your hair and won't harm your physical health in any way. Bad" silicones (the ones most often claimed to be "bad" are dimethicone, cetyl dimethicone, cetearyl methicone, dimethiconol, stearyl dimethicone, cyclomethicone, amodimethicone, trimethylsilylamodimethicone, and cyclopentasiloxane) are the ones that are not water-soluble-meaning that no matter how much you rinse.
Hi there! So I actually have tried these products in the past so I know that they work well for detangling but I am more concerned about the long term damage that silicones may have on the hair. There are different types of silicones out there and most can be cleansed by washing your hair with sulphates. My thing is, why would I use silicones in the first place only to them wash them off with sulphate based shampoos which are also drying for the hair. Just my opinion though, I know this is not a concern for many people which is totally fine, just my opinion
Because every hair type is not the same…it’s best to state that…allow for people to make their own judgment about it. Also, probably important to explain the products you have tried on your hair and share the info…anyone can read a bottle…but results come from trying different ones out. Nothing is ever a one size fits all…also, not all products are me t to be used forever…it’s good to change up. 👍 thank you for responding.
@@naturallyeve You should watch Dr. Dray, she is a dermatologist on TH-cam and she has a video on youtube about silicones which is super informative and also curly chemistry she is a chemist on TH-cam that has a video on silicones. There are silicones that are water-soluble, so if silicones work for your hair, but you're worried about buildup, research which silicones are water-soluble.
Yes for sure! There absolutely are water soluble silicones which are totally fine. For people that may not have the time to research and prefer to just be safe, then avoiding silicones is the safer option in my opinion.

One thing that not many people know is that the Moroccan Oil brand doesn't use the true Argan Oil that comes from Morocco but instead, Israel has taken the tree seeds and they grow the trees in Israel on alien soil that is not even meant to grow Argan trees in it, so that they can make this brand. So the Argan Oil that from the trees that grown anywhere else won't be the same as the true Argan oil from the original trees in the Sous Valley region of southern Morocco. There is a reason why this tree doesn't grow anywhere else in the world and not even in the entire of Morocco, only in a small region there.

Hi, I am glad I searched “why did Moroccanoil ruined my hair” and I selected your video. I used this for about a year cuz I bought 1 litre bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Now my hair is more damaged than before and it really ruined my hair. For silicones I use neutrogena anti residue shampoo as a clarifying shampoo once in 2-3 weeks. But honestly, I have never dyed my hair, I just didn’t get regular cuts, but my hair was little less than knee length, yes that long. I stopped using this Moroccanoil products and switched back to the ones which helped me grow my hair and cure damage. Now the ones I use is Toni&guy damage repair Shampoo and conditioner(orange colour). Also, I also added hair mask in my routine to fix the damage. Hopefully it gets better soon cuz it’s a long time damage I did to my hair but I know now I’m using something I can blindly trust and has proven over 4-5 years that it’s good for my hair. A hairstylist told me that Moroccanoil products activate with heat so I have to blow dry my hair every time I wash them to make the products work but I don’t use heat in my hair apart from hair curler Rod once a month maybe. Hopefully my hair gets better. I’ll never use Moroccanoil again.

If silicones work for you then by all means, this is just my opinion. In regards to your hair thinning or breaking, I am not sure silicones would help the situation. There could be many reasons your hair is breaking/thinning and I would find the root cause before deciding that silicones are the way to go.
I also do not like silicones. Ive read all the articles and videos about the pros, cons, and exaggeration, but the best teacher is experience. I havent used silicones or sulfates for 5 years and i find that my hair and scalp have been doing better without them. I also to avoid fragrance when i can. I also have sensitive skin so that might be why.
Thank you so much! I always see these long words in ingredients list that concerns me. And, your definitions helped a lot because if I'm going natural by getting rid of the crack, I sure DON'T want chemicals in my natural hair care products. I have 4 different textures(2b-4a) in my hair and some of those textures loves water. Can you tell me which one of those chemicals you mentioned are too drying for my locs?
Aww I am so glad you found this helpful! And yes for sure, if you are stopping the creamy crack then why not be more intentional about what ingredients are in your products going forward?! Very excited for your journey, it will all be worth it sis! I believe it was Denatured Alcohol that I mentioned is very drying to the hair. All the best in your journey!!
Do you have a video actually recommending shampoo/conditioner? Silicone isn’t all bad, I have very sensitive, curly hair and this is the best shampoo I’ve ever used. It for sure isn’t damaging my hair. And you’re reading ingredients on some goofy Marshall’s Argan oil that’s completely unregulated over a trusted highly praised quality product. I pretty much can’t wash my hair with most shampoo. Could wash it everyday with Moroccan Oil. I wash about twice a week but my hair isn’t dry or frizzy.
I am so glad I found this video because I have been using the creame and mousse from Maroccanoil and my hair is getting very damaged at the ends 😔 What would you recomand without silicon that could work for a 2c type?
Aw so glad it was helpful! There are lots of different products in the market that do not contain silicones; most of them actually state on the packaging "silicone free" or "free of silicones" so that would be something to look for in the labels. Brands such as Shea Moisture, Up North Naturals, Frize Frize, Mielle Organics, African Pride etc. all generally do not use silicones in their products. For 2C in terms of styling, I find that light lotions, gels or mousses give great results for curl definition without weighing the hair down. I also provide one on one hair consultations if you are interested in more customized advice/hair regimen (email me or check out the link in my insta bio). Thanks for watching!

I love the hair oil its great on my skin too snd has faded acne scars!!
Are you a chemist? Not sure if you’re qualified to talk at an ingredients level at all.
I never claimed to be a chemist, just my opinions.
She is not qualified for anything 😂
I am so glad I found this video because I have been using the creame and mousse from Maroccanoil and my hair is getting very damaged at the ends 😔
What would you recomand without silicon that could work for a 2c type?
@@naturallyeve thank you
Hi! Can you please make a video on Shea Moisture? I used to use it on my hair, but my curly hair lady told that it wasn't the best
Oh nvm! I just found it lol
@@valeriebasto-morales3965 No worries hun! I have been using Shea Moisture for ages and it has worked great for my hair, I would give it a try if you haven't. So far I have 2 videos on Shea Moisture you can check out but there they have so many lines that cater to specific hair needs. Let me know if you have any other questions and Thanks for your support :)

Can you show us your curl routine. Do you use the Árganos oil & essential oil every day. Thank you
Thanks for the suggestion - I will definitely share my curly hair routine! I don't use Argan oil every day. I generally use moisturizing oils for hot oil treatments and I use sealing oils during my wash and go on day 1 after my leave in conditioner to seal the moisture. I will definitely include the step by step in my future video - thank you for your support!
Can you please give us the link of that bio argan oil?
Aussie hair products please
It does work on all hair.
Welp.should’ve just got the fragrance har spray instead of products because I just wanted them for the smell 😩😩
I know right!! They do smell really good, I can't lie!
So if this shampoo is not good, what is?
There are clarifying shampoos that are sulfate free ( Malibu c)
How abt the hydrating hair mask
Silicones are not the devil.
They are not but I choose to avoid them. Just my opinion though; if they work for you then by all means go for them.
👏🏼 leave it to eve to drop knowledge, thanks girl!
Thanks beautiful 🙏🏽🤗 hope you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!!
New Subscriber Here. Where did you purchase the oil you showed & how good does it work for you? Because I looking for something that will keep my hair soft & scalps moisturize.
I got the Argan Oi from a local beauty supply store called Clore Beauty here in Canada. I am not sure where you are located but the brand doesn't really matter as long as the ingredients are actually oil then you should be safe. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@naturallyeve Louisiana and thanks 💕
Can you review macademia professional products
Yes I will definitely add to my list of product reviews. Thanks for watching!
Are you a specialist or judt an enthusiast? This is also important for us to gauge where you are coming from.
Hi there! I am a certified hair consultant and do provide 1:1 hair consultations. In this video, I am sharing my own opinion and experience on the products.
@@naturallyeveWhat is a certified hair consultant??? Who certified you?
Hey. !! Thank you so much for the video!! Can you please review the Hair Food shampoo and conditioner and mask ? It would be a lot helpful!!
I will definitely add the brand to my list! Thank you so much for the suggestion and for supporting - I so appreciate it!
omg! i'm so glad i came across your video. I was going to buy their treatment oil and mask 💀, now i'm definitely reconsidering.
I haven't checked but if you haven't, could you do one on Kerastase? I'm also kind of skeptical about them and if they're really worth the money.
Thank you so much!
Aww glad it helped :) I have not tried Kerastase but will def add them to my list! Thank you so much for sharing!
Great review!!! Could you do a Truth about Kevin Murphy? Thank you.
Thank you so much! Never heard or tried Kevin Murphy but will add to my list in the future :)
is this oil good for thick ruff hair
It depends what you are using the oil for. If you are looking to detangle your hair, then I suggest using a leave in conditioner as opposed to an oil.
kerastase??
Are you Canadian?
What about chi silk infusion serum ingredients?
I am not familiar with Chi products but check the ingredients. I have a video on "Ingredients damaging your hair" which is helpful to get an idea on which ones to avoid.
Experimenta a linha brasileira Lola Cosméticos , Danos vorazes o nome do recém lançamento.🇧🇷
Moroccan oil but "Made in israel", how come? Haha they fooling you guys. I am Moroccan I use real argan oil from the source, and I will never use their products.
where do we get the real stuff from please
@@MsChunkums I wanna know the same
Where do i get real argan oil then?
Thanks, will save my money. This brand is just not made for dry AA hair. (shrugs)
Yes unfortunately not but so many other great brands out there with better ingredients for our hair 🙌🏾 thanks for watching 💕
how bitter you seem, just over some Silicones. Just try to relax a bit.
She is stupid and has no idea what is she talking about
maroccanoil shampoo is a terrible shampoo. It is very glue like & it’s very hard to wash it out. It made my skin itchy & even after 3 washes it stayed oily
I appreciate your review. Someone gifted me this and they were clueless of my priority to use truly natural & clean ingredients. So disappointed in the dimethicone as ingredient and FIRST ingredient. 😏😏😒😒😒🥺🥺🙄🙄🙄
Sorry to hear that girl! it is unfortunate that many companies still consider silicones as "natural".
I don’t know why mortocanoil products always make my hair worst 😂
Sis????? wtf!!!!is this???? Not all of are sis can’t even get the things clear and here she is teaching the world.fofffff!!!
Silicone shmilicone
Just wanna say you’re so beautiful.nice video
Thank you!
It all contains too much silicone. Get the real argan oil 100 percent pure and it's cheaper and more effective.
where though
Yep I agree!
I knew it!! Thank you for the info i think that is not worth it
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
I love the oil. Can’t wait to try the hair mask.
Tyfs!! 👏🏽
Thank You
Thanks 💞
Those products are so bad I bought those products that shampoo the conditioner the the other products for your face mask and it's so bad my hair got so damaged my hair is curly and they're not good please people do not buy these products the shampoo was 38 dollars the conditioner was $38 and they don't cost even a penny
So sorry you such a bad experience. I hope you found better products since then. Thanks for watching!
She's a scientific scientist 😂whatever girl...
Three minutes in and I am gone. Why did I have to watch you drink coffee? What is that? And my days you talk too much... If you don't like the products don't use it. But if people like it, and it works well for them, then they use it. Yeah, not even halfway through and I'm leaving..
There goes my free birthday gift from sephora in the trash. This sounds like a Bill Gates creation.
😂😂😂😂😂 Mines too ‼️🤷🏾♂️
Please get to the point next time
