I feel like most people that are semi-familiar with guitar kits will know this, but still likely important for any newcomers to know; the "Zebrawood" is not actually true Zebrawood (lat. Microberlinia brazzavillensi), but a composite material similar to Richlite. They take "forest materials" (read: sawdust and paper basically) and compress them with resin to create the slabs. This is why it reacts similar to wood when it comes to things like sanding, finishing and painting/staining. As far as this kit, despite being a set neck, the access on it looks like it's going to be a right mare with how sunken into the body it is, but they make them like that for some reason, yet they also make ones that get it right and join the body at a much higher fret like they should so shrug. One of my favourite parts about Pango is they allow you to buy the kit with no hardware. I love that option. If you've got spare parts laying around you can use them and save money, or put the money you would have spent on them into some decent hardware (doublely importent if you're getting one with a floyd) But honestly? the thing that really blew my mind, at least out of their standard kits, is the PEX-631 or 632. Neck-thru, 3 piece maple neck with no scarf joint. Bargin. At least, I've scowered the pictures of those kits looking for a scarf-joint for quite a while and I can't see any sign of one.
Hi Jonny, the finish on the neck and body look really cool and the gold coloured hardware is a lovely touch. I'm really looking forward to the next installment when we get to hear it.
Impressive piece of kit there. They matched the various pieces of wood well, so the body looks, for all intents and purposes, like a solid hunk of zebra wood. Even the scarf joint is almost imperceptible. The cloth covered wiring (is it cloth covered? Can't quite tell) is what you'd find on fender usa guitars. Quality stuff 👍🏼
Nice one Johnny that’s going to look great ! I just finished making my very first project a P Bass . I need to make another one asap it gets pretty addictive lol
Entertaining stuff Johnny. That Zebra stuff is interesting looking. Maybe have a set of vanson or iron Gear buckers on standby in case you don't love the pickups?
I would have fitted the bridge first so you can check the neck angle before glue. Who knows, maybe it will work out OK. I assumed that this was going to be a bolt on so surprised to see it has a glue on neck. I like those Zebrawood guitars , they look cool. I assume you are going to clear coat it?
Completely agree, I was thinking the exact same thing. Love the Zebrawood vibe, looks awesome on the body and headstock, love the clear pickguard and Jack plate, but having it on the fretboard has just took it a wee bit too far
Please don't forget that LIKE button 😊
I am halfway through making it......its gonna be interesting.
@@BudgetGuitarShow Interesting is good

Looking forward to seeing this project as it progresses, the guitar looks pretty cool with the Zebra stripe effect 👍🎸😄
Yep, next week will be interesting
Oî Johnny ! this summer project look like really cool ( specially with this zebra wood finish )
That zebrawood throughout looks wild. Be interesting to hear it.
Very true mate. Next week's vid will be very interesting
Them kits have got a lot better than when I got one about 13 years ago.
Looks great value for the price point! 🙂
I think so too........wait for next week to see if it is
Look's like a very nice kit.
Not sure about the zebrawood, but the kit assembly seems fairly straight forward. Looking forward to part 2.🎸

No, the wiring is plastic wiring as seen on many Chinese pick ups.
You got yourself a new sub.
Keep up your work!
Cheers from Sweden.
Thank you so much

i like the zebrawood on the fretboard .
Me too
Looking forward to part 2 👍
This looks promising Jonny! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out 😀👍
Next week will be worth watching
It is NOT a bolt-on! I already like it!
Yep, my first glue in attepmt
For a 199 those are some clean components routes and the neck seemed to fit snug
It does, so easy to do, and sounds like a £300 axe
Looks great Johnny,,are you going to gloss the wood, varnish or something to make that pop?
Entertaining stuff Johnny. That Zebra stuff is interesting looking. Maybe have a set of vanson or iron Gear buckers on standby in case you don't love the pickups?
This one will be upgraded over time IF it all works out.
like the gold hardware
Me too. Don't like the scratchplate though
@@BudgetGuitarShow The scratchplate can be changed!
@gedellis701 yeah, it will be
Nice looking kit! I think I'd have straightened the neck and done fret leveling before attaching it, just in case.
I checked it. All good

hey, this is interesting.
Where exactly can you get the custom logo placed? Headstock? 12th fret? Body? Will you paint or stain it?
I think it's on the headstock.
Not convinced about the zebra neck. Whats the texture of the zebra wood? Is it smoot / polished or can you feel the slight ridges?
It's smooth to my hands
Nice. If Pango are reading this, a subscriber discount would be a great idea. Im looking at the firebird kits but they are 10-25% too pricey
Add a different fretboard and I'd be very interested.

@@stevecassidyguitar Yep, it's all a bit too much zebra for me
I actually quite like it
@@BudgetGuitarShow That's cool, I'm seeing through the camera not actually in person.
@gedellis701 yeah, I like the fact that it's different. Next weeks vid will really show it off
Well done mate check out shed of dreams 👍
Will do mate
I certainly wouldn't be able to put a guitar together
I hate flying V's I had one and swapped it for an SG
I like them
