Kurt is handed the Nobel Peace Prize. He stares at its magnificence before turning around to hand the prize to its rightful owner. With the honor we all envy, which is clearly seen in Kurt's unblinking eyes, Kurt presents the NPP to Space Ice. What does Space Ice do when receiving the NPP? The only thing Space Ice can do which is nothing short of pure awesomeness. To commemorate the greatest recipient in history, JCVD does the Thailand Tush (aka tushy-dance-in-black-tank-and-khakis) while... who cares...it can't get better than this.
I watched this many times when I was a kid. I have always liked this movie and I think it's pretty well done. This is sci-fi at its peak. Another thing that makes this movie special is that it has Gary Busey in it and we all know that any movie with Gary Busey in it is a movie with Gary Busey in it.
This movie is actually a masterpiece. It's has a deeper theme. Like Starship Troopers or Robocop. It's about a man coming to terms with his Trauma. I feel the little boy represents Todd's inner child. He fathers the boy and so fathers himself by encouraging him to face his greatest fear, the Snake. He is accepted by the people of the Colony and is brought into the family. He is Mothered by Sandra, but he can't handle this new acceptance and Caring. He has no purpose. The Bad Guys show up and he now has something good to fight for. He kills the cause of his Trauma and his past actions are Absolved. He can now move on as a man and a father. Looking out the Window to his future with the boy at his side.
Personally, his masterpiece is his role as Jack in Big Trouble In Little China. Kurt Russel was one of the few actors that could do serious roles. He could also easily do comedy, as well. But he was one of the very few that could do action-comedy so effortlessly. For example, Stallone was incredible in action but in Tango & Cash, Stallone could not get his stride with the comedic action. Stallone was too stiff and sounded like he was reading directly from the script. Kurt, on the other hand, out shined everyone in that film as the defacto action-comedy star.
I was just a 20 something big into weight training when this came out. Seeing Kurt transform himself when he was creeping up towards 50 was just such a big deal for me. Number of actors have done that since then, but I really feel like this is the first time a middle-age guy really pulled it off for a film.

I never saw this film but it looks straight up awesome. And it has the Space Ice seal of approval, so it should actually be mandatory.
Def check it out. Kurt russell is a g.
Sir, your choice of words deserves a medal. It will be my honour to follow your future creations. Thank you!
When I grow up, I want to be Kurt Russell
The captain Ron trophy would have to be the highest decoration possible
Comedy genius as usual. And the worst part of any action movie, the children. Nice to see Kurt Russel is taking care of the problem like any good exterminator. 😂😂 Even though I don't quite remember the movie that way but I'll take your word for it. You've never lead me astray. 😂😂
Dude. Been waiting for you to finally display this masterpiece. Seriously one of the best movies of my childhood
I remember when this was coming out and people were losing their minds over Russell only having 49 words of dialog in a feature-length film where he's the main star. Personally I do like this film, just the right amount of sci-fi/action cheese.
“The model of San Fransisco is go fuck yourself” 🤣 I was crying for that one
A great underrated movie by KR. As always, great narration! 😆🤘🏼
the highest honour outside of a bar in thailand... genius.
