Not sure if anyone here is still answering questions but my issues are this with Cakewalk, when using the Wasapi driver i can get audio in and out of my interface however the recorded audio is full artifacts and I go to adjust the buffer size the slider is locked. when I switch to Asio I have no devices installed, Cakewalk doesn't recognize them. i tried downloading Asio4all to see if this would help. Now I can adjust the buffer slider and get audio into the computer but no sound is coming out. The meters move, the waveform is there but nothing. I am using a refurbished 16gig ThinkPad running Windows 10 and an M-Audio M-Track interface. any help would be appreciated.

Shot in the dark: Cakewalk (along with SonarLE, Project?LE, DimensionLE) came packaged with my ASUS Xonar D2X; can/could some of this software be used to - via accessing individual outputs of the D2X - for an active (stereo) crossover? (Standard WMA,FLAC, etc. PCM audio); Example: "Highpass/Lowcut", via one output to "tweeter" amplifier, "Bandpass" to amplifier for midranges... "Highcut" to woofer amplifier.... With selectable rolloff point(F/Hz), slope (dB/oct.), delay (microseconds) and level (+/-dB)... while 3.5mm TRS connectors are not "audiophile" but could make due... appreciate any useful info (some have mentioned "ASIO4ALL"... but little instructive material)... thanx

I need help. I never use to have any issues with my audio interface, but one day I noticed it was really loud and a lot of background sound was visible yet I never changed the gain. How do I fix this?

Whenever i record and i have my interface pluged in it sounds just fine but when i remove my interface and play back my vocals they sound pitched up and fast any way i can change that
That's probably a sample rate mismatch. Just use your interface.
I used to love the old Cakewalk. So easy to use to write simple music for pipe organ. I have downloaded and installed new Bandlab Cakewalk. It seems to record because I can see the fuzzy signals, but I can hear anything if I attempt to playback. What might be wrong?
If I load the Withered Moment sample then I can hear the music, so speakers are working. I can hear sound on TH-cam as well.

I lowered the SPEED of your Video playback to 0.75, and like with many other Cakewalk Tutorials, this really helped! :) Because without that your mouse cursor was flying all over the place, giving no idea of how you did what you did!! Yes, it does sound like you had a couple of drinks or a couple of Valiums, but hey, that is OK as long as we're able to follow the tutorial! 🤣🤣🤣
For me this is the perfect pace to keep my attention. Maybe I have ADD I don't know but I wish everyone conveyed information at this rate!

I have a problem bc I use headphones, but the sound's only goes to my left ear. Where can I change that in Cakewalk? Or do I need to buy 2 wires and put it into my audio interface on L and R?

Is it normal if my laptop built-in speaker couldn't be chosen as the driver for ASIO? I could use my built-in speaker while my input is from the sound card before, but recently the built-in speaker doesn't support ASIO. Now I have to use WASAPI, but there are new problems like audio crackling, can't play sound in other applications while using cakewalk.
I'm not sure if these new problems are caused by WASAPI or what, but i never encountered them when I was still using ASIO.

Hi there. I have a very old version of Sonar 3 The Producer Edition and Music Creator 6. Will songs I have written in those load up in this and play correctly??? If not HOW can I do that? I hate the thought of LOSING my songs or trying to recreate them... I just Got a Windows 10 computer and I have no sound on playback.

@OBEDIA Please help I haven't been able to figure this out for a year, each time I open Cakewalk I get the message "Silent Buses Detected" and none of the instruments have any sound. I have my audio interface synced up to Cakewalk and both are set to input and output but no luck at all. If you could help me that would be greatly appreciated.

I installed cakewalk bandlab on win7 64 bit pro. My transport doesn't respond at all to play record or anything else, the only way I can get it to work is by collapsing it, but I would prefer not to do it that way. Is there any way to fix this?
How do you get it to not record the metronome. Who would want it to record a metronome anyway on an isolated audio track? Also it records all the others tracks playing by default. So my drums get recorded to my new audio track which would be say just vocal. I get vocal and drums. I can’t see anyway to stop it doing this at the moment. Is it something to do with ports? I have Cubase and it does not do it on that. So it’s not my sound card. I like it better than cubase but I’m struggling to sort this.

I have created a project with Audio track and VST MT Midi drums I saved it and later when I open recent project to work on that my Midi drum track won't play I can hear only Audio track I can see the Midi track still there but won't play? Does anybody know what's the issue? Or any other way to save Audio and MIdi together for later work?

How do you add metadata to the mix down such as ISRC codes, CAE codes and other information?
You'll have to do that after the fact with other software.

Hi I don't get any output when I try playback on a recorded track and also the playback automatically pauses every 0.8 seconds. Please advise
at 6:57 how can we use the metronome? if I' m playing guitar the metronome is picked up by the mic and recorded which is obviously undesirable. I don't see any way round that. Is there?

I'm really new to this and I just figured out how to draw notes but I'm not hearing them when I play it and I'm also not hearing the piano keys when I press them on piano roll. My audio on my computer is working good with everything else I was just wondering if anyone might know what's going on with my cakewalk.

An orientation but not really a 'how to.' Would have been great to see instrument selected and short recording. Purpose of some elements not clear. Thanks for your work. Have had some success with Band Lab and thought I would come back here to add some skills.

How do I route my speakers and mic in cakewalk?

Izotope and Waves were working perfectly in Sonar Platinum but started after I change to the free lifetime Waves and Izotope plugins are crashing my Sonar platinum, both are installed in VST3, what can I do to fix this. I already downloaded Sonar with BandLab.
When I changed to the free lifetime subscription and I made the first upgrade they started to crash and I had to open some of my project in safe mode.
I have this problem that Cakewalk blocks all my other audio, that ''suspend audio engine when cakewalk is not in focus'' dosent do anything about it ether, it still blocks all the other audio, any help?

Thank you for your video. I have Sonar Platinum and now I have also installed the BandLab "interface". It runs just like Sonar after a few migration issues with the plugins but, can someone tell me if I should deleat the Sonar Platimun Instalation and use only BandLab , or must I keep both instaltions?? You can leave your previous version installed, without issue.
Are you able to give insight into how I'm able to get audio out of both headphones? When I record into cakewalk it seems to only play out of the right headphone.
There's no reason for that, check your hardware.

I think that's a bit subjective, when you break it right down, but I would say they are just as high quality.

I worked in Sonar Platinum and now the question is what is better (except the money)?
We'd say so, yes, because it's up to date and will get updates.
Cakewalk integrates most 32-bit plugins. The only time it doesn't work well or cakewalk even crashes is if a plugin is not well coded.
It happens occasionally with free vst synths. However, I highly recommend to check out vst4free.com
32 bit VST wrapping is a tricky thing, and honestly, it's better to just update your plugins if possible.
At least if a plugin doesn't work well. I've had a few chrashes in two years. Unfortuntely those plugins were not available in 64 bit.
So, eventually I had to get rid of them.
how is it there is there is no signal coming from the track going to my head phone though the input echo is on?

I tried it... But I'll just stick with reaper. It's more intuitive and arguably more powerful. No wonder Gibson had trouble marketing it.
More powerful? Loool, Cakewalk by Bandlab puts Reaper on an Entry Level Daw.
@@nomadptgalexandrecarvalho2133 No dear, I m using both Cakewalk and Reaper. Reaper is better in most cases than Cakewalk. Cakewalk also have some advantages over reaper. The workflow of Reaper is much better than Cakewalk.

I tried the "suspend audio when Cakewalk is not in focus" and nothing plays while Cakewalk is open. Is there something I'm missing? I've used Cakewalk since it was MIDI only back in the 80's and since I switched to ASIO drivers, I cannot use any other sound app while Cakewalk is open. I would love to be able to do this. Can you elaborate and/or demonstrate it actually working?

I think what he means is that the focus feature thing doesnt really solve the problem of having another app play music while your daw is recording/ amp simulating so you can play along. I was going to ask the same thing, I dont know any daw's that do this and also point to the focus window thing as a solution but that only switches the audio from one app back to your daw and not both at the same time which would be a nice feature, i suspect I can only do by routing my pc audio into the interface and let the interface do the mixing, but I wonder why cant daw's do this? Maybe the OS doesnt allow this easily I dont know but it would be nice to have.
It is both the DAW and ASIO drivers. I can run several apps with sound, but if I use the DAW and try to check out some tutorial there is no sound. I keep my laptop handy. Also I do tutorials and I can't capture sound if the tutorial is in Cakewalk. There was a workaround made by Steinberg, the inventor of ASIO, but I never was able to make it work. I know I followed the process correctly. It just wouldn't work. I'm not willing to give up the quality of ASIO so I just live with the inconvenience.

You can instantiate plugins into each track via the FX section of the channel strip.

I have a problem with my headphones and the sound overall while using Cakewalk, my left speakers doesnt work, even when I fully pan them to the left. Outside of cakewalk they work fine. Anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

Hey Brian - When I purchased the Cakewalk Platinum Version, it came with a lifetime of free updates. Will that still be true with the Cakewalk by BandLab?
My guess is that it is lost to Gibson's account. As they offered us this lifetime upgrade, it was clear form the start that we had a contract with the seller, which is not Bandlab. My 2 cents, but that would be cool to have something like a temporary discounted upgrade path for originals subscribers, even if it has turned out as a scam by Gibson.
As we're not part of BandLab's team or development, we cannot speak to how things will work for upgrades, but everything we've seen here is that all the updates are free. The best way to get started is to simply download the software and try using it.
Again, all of this is to be seen, right now. As I stated, this is young. You paid for your software when Cakewalk was owned by Gibson, and therefore you own it. It was made clear by Cakewalk's CEO that the servers would remain up so you could download your software and authorize it. If you login to the Cakewalk command center, you'll find that your software is still there, still downloadable, and you can still authorize it. Nothing has pointed to your losing access to any of that.
Why cant I enable my audio interface? I've been trying so hard
i tried to down load it it kept on refering to me downloading Chrome which i have then when I tried to open as administrator it says Bandlab is running. I uninstalled

When I play back my track the sound only comes through one head piece. How do I make it come through both?

I wonder if the bandlab version has everything in it.... like audiosnap... I cant see how they can just give away a daw that used to cost hundreds of dollars....

Not built in anymore, but Bandlab has tons. You can get them thru the BandLab Assistant.
