Hey mark my canaries had 5 eggs and 3 were fertile after two weeks eggs start to disapear one by one I think the hen was drinking the eggs why is that and what can I do to prevent it next time ?
Did the eggs hatch out and the chicks were tossed? Canaries hatch at 13-14 days which would be about the two week mark. If she is eating the eggs it could be that she is calcium deficient and needs more calcium so that she doesn’t have to eat her eggs. Also, check her toe nails and make sure the they are trimmed properly. If nails are too long they can break the eggs and then the birds eat them to try and keep the nest clean.
