- It felt like it was winter in July, I was in Cornwall visiting family and finalising our holiday let preparations, with a few hours to spare I decided to take the coastal path from Perranporth Beach to Holywell Bay.
Around a 6 mile hike along this beautiful coastline with a few treasures along the way, as the tide was coming in I had to go over Penhale Sand Dunes, it would have been a much simpler and quicker if I could have walked the whole length of the beach.
Finding Dead Man’s pool was a treat, then up to Ligger Point, past the MOD site along the cliffs to Penhale Point then down to Holywell Bay
The wind was strong, the sky overcast but it felt amazing to feel the sea breeze coming inland, I would say this is quite an easy walk although there were some parts where I had to keep Alice on a lead as I was worried she might fall down the cliff!
The area is spectacular even on an overcast windy day, it felt quite special have the Holywell Bay to ourselves, looking out to Gull Rocks and taking in the natural surroundings.
I had initially intended to loop back round to Perranporth but as I didn’t start my hike until 4pm I ran out of time so got a lift back to Perranporth.
