Empress has lapped the field. Their Reverb and Echosystem are the best out there. Love how complex they are, yet no screen, and still fairly simple to use.
You practically showed me every thing I was wondering how to do after owning this pedal for 6 months! This is truly an immense pedal. The dual delay engine gets my mind racing. Thank you!
Hi , great presentation video ! Do you know if it's possible to send a MIDI Beat Clock to Echosystem by just using a TRS / DIN cable or if it's mandatory to use a MIDI Box ? Keep on doing videos
Good to see a video that demonstrates the expression pedal. However I have - in vain - searched the net and YT to show how the exp pedal works in Digital Mode to change delay time ... without pitch warbles. I do very often play U2 style delays with my band but without in-ear click tracks or metronomes for the drummer. The drummer sways and sags a little in tempo from time to time. Thus, I want to follow the delay times with the travel of any expression pedal, if he goes up or down, and the only unit so far that I've come across that does this without pitch, is the old retired and out of production DigiTech Timebender. You could set that within ranges 300 ms to 400 ms and start somewhere in between, and change the pedal accordingly, and the switch between times was seamless and no one noticed. Now, it depends on modes and algorithms, so if you have "analog tape" mode, it sure should modulate and warble with pitch. Can you just do a test of this and produce an answer here?
@@aBunchOfPedals th-cam.com/video/4arlipIwfIk/w-d-xo.html DigiTech TImeBender did. Only pedal? And as he says in the video at around 2:40 and on "very unusual, but very useful and musical". In Digital Mode, it should do that without pitch. However in analog, and tape mode it should warble pitch big time. So I've come across it, and the technical design of that pedal is more than 10 years old.
henkehakansson2004 I’ve always been super curious about the time bender. Everyone has good things to say about it. Maybe one day I’ll check it out for myself.
As a guitar player, I think I prefer this to the Polymoon as a delay and the Mercury7 as a reverb, as I have no idea of how to set a precise delay on the Polymoon.
As a straight up delay, I totally agree with you. The ES has great tape delay, you can tap in your own rhythms and run two settings at once. The Polymoon is more than a delay for me, I hardly use the "normal" sounding delays in it. I love it for making pads and atmospheric stuff.
Neat. Are you missing anything the Timeline did? I really like the tape mode on it, but for that reason I'm probably going to pick up an El Cap anyhow.
Awesome. Thanks for the input! EDIT: Just looked at the tape settings for the Empress too, and HOT DAMN. That thing looks like everything I want out of both the El Cap and the Dig. Well crap. Haha.
Ive been waiting for someone to show a little more with two delays at once! Thanks! One knob you didnt change when moving between the two delays was the mix knob. Can each delay have a different mix when running two at a time?
Hello. I have a question for owners of this pedal. I run two delay pedals. Delay 1 is always on and VERY low in the mix. Delay 2 mix is controlled by expression pedal and can go from no delay (heel) to high in mix (tow). Can this pedal do this on its own? Could i have two delays where only one was being controlled by expression pedal? Thanks to whoever reads this.
i did and i regret it a little because it mixed reverb and delay better than any other pedal i ever played and the reverb 100% wet is the greatest, but this can come close to the avalanche run. i wish i could have both! this makes up with having awesome delays. modulated tape delays are awesome so i found a new niche to play with :)
The only flaw with it in my opinion, are the control knobs. I believe they should of just been blank knobs, and the dots showing where you are should of been LED dots, to show where you are on what delay and what preset. It just seems odd that the knobs would change but the look of them wouldn't
@@aBunchOfPedals I have a question about this. If you have, say, any delay obviously using some knobs' settings, than how do the knobs work when you change delays and the knobs are in the same place?
@@bigupliquidchilli8709 If you just manually change delay types, the knobs stay in the same position. It's better to have a few presets, then the knobs will "change" with the preset.
oooooh man... That's a tough one. I love the dual delay engines in the Echosystem. I love the pad sounds you can get with the Polymoon. I think they're two separate beasts and that's why I have both. Don't make me choose!

Yup, for sure. The Echosystem is still one of my favorite delays.

That’s awesome to hear! I’m glad you found this useful :) Yea, this thing is a powerhouse for sure!
Congratulation !!! This is the first really complete video I have seen of this pedal, now I am very interested in buying it in the future
holy mother of... Everything sounds amazing with this
chhau123 I can't disagree with you there.
Timeline out, echosystem in !
Hehehe I'm thinking same
Glad you chose Papyrus font.
cosmogang haha, I know I know. I had no idea it was so hated.

I’m pretty sure you need the midi box but maybe empress can’t answer your question for sure (just shoot them an email).
Nice demo! Mine will be here Monday!
Glad you liked it. Good luck with your Echosystem!
Love your stuff just wondering why not utilize stereo outs on this ? Thaaankyew
Thanks dude. I was probably being lazy. But don’t worry, new Volante video coming out is all stereo :)

henkehakansson2004 It affects the pitch a little for a brief moment. I’ve never run across a delay pedal that doesn’t do that.

aBunchOfPedals I recently contacted Meris to discuss presets and they said they're going to produce a preset switch for their pedals.
Lots of helpful tips in here, thanks for a great vid
lipperskip good deal, glad you found it useful.

I think you’re going to want to take a look at the Empress Zoia, you can do soooooo much with that pedal.
Oh man seriously thinking about trading in my Avalanche Run for this

Is there a time knob?
This is much better sounding than the strymon timeline.
Ok guys, its down to this vs the polymoon. Which one do you recommend and why? I play metal and love adding experimental sounds if that helps.

this is better than eventide timefactor?
OdellMusic Sorry buddy, I couldn’t really say. I’ve never had a Timefactor.
"Whisky thing 1" oh ya
I really like the tape and ambient settings. It's cool if you run both ambients together in stereo and slightly tweak the left and right outputs.

You know you love it ;)
I like it
Real players know that this pedal's buffers are crap which sucks headroom and tone... Way overpriced junk...
lol brutal 😂.
